Standley Lake High School. Robert distinguished himself as ahardworking, competent student. He is known for his personal
integrity and mature manner. He achieved the rank of EagleScout in the Boy Scouts of America. Scouting has taught him tobe a good citizen, he also learned leadership skills, persistence,
survival skills and an appreciation of nature. His communityservice extends to The American Legion, Have a Heart
Foundation and repainting playground equipment at Kohl Elementary. Robert will attend the
Northeastern Jr. College in Sterling, CO.

Matthew is a graduate of Arvada West High School in Arvada,Colorado. Dear WSA:Helen K. Wasinger and her husband Roy joined the
Western Slavonic Association back in the 1950’swhen they were in the electrical business in NorthDenver. Roy was an electrical contractor withWasinger Brothers Electric, and Helen operated thewell known Wasinger Electric store on West 38thAvenue near Irving Street. For almost 30 years, thestore sold lamps and lamp shades, and repaired lampsand small appliances. Roy and Helen were active inthe North Denver business and civic community andsupported many local community causes. Roy passedaway in 1994 at the age of 84.
Helen has been an active member of the FraternalOrder of Eagles since 1947. She has been involvedwith the Eagle’s many charity fundraising efforts,including personally raising tens of thousands of dol-
lars over the years for theMuscular DystrophyAssociation.
Helen’s three children,Kathy, Dick and Jim, aremembers of WSA. Several oftheir grandchildren and great-grandchildren are also mem-bers - many because policieswere originally purchased for them by Roy and Helen.One grandchild was awarded a WSA college scholarship.
Helen is retired and in spite of numerous healthproblems still resides in her north Denver home nearRegis University.

I wanted to write a letter to let you know what awonderful time my family had at the picnic this year.The park was a beautiful place to have it. I have neverbeen to that park before and did not realize just hownice it was.
My children Jenay, 17, and Kylie, 14, had a greattime. They really enjoyed the D.J. and all the games.The D.J. did a great job getting everyone involved.
The food was really good also, and everyone seemedto enjoy it.

Lodge #41 members Judy Marinaro and BarbaraPietrafeso are ready to T-off during the groups trip to
Mesquite, Nevada. Forty members andtheir guests made the bus trip to play in a slot
tournament and enjoy the golfing.
“Good friends are made in heaven.” That’s how theseLodge #41 and Lodge #1 members feel. They enjoyed each others company at the Heritage Square Music Hall last May. Sixty-four members and guests enjoyed dinner, the play and after show performance.

The annual MS WALK is the largest fund raising event held by the MS Society.

School Supply DriveThe Junior Department gathered in August to fill1,000 school bags for needy children in 3 Lovelandelementary schools. Bags were filled with pencils,glue sticks, crayons, a notebook and eraser.Gathering to make many childrenvery happy!

Chairman John Kogovsek called the meeting of the Board toorder. All Directors were present. Guests Honorary DirectorMehelich, Honorary Director Leonard Tezak, Board LegalAdvisor Dan Kogovsek and Controller Kanary were also present.Reports were given by the following individuals:

The Board performed the following actions:• Approved the report of the auditors with regard to WSA’s 2002 Financial Statements.• Approved the minutes of the meeting of the Board of Directors held March 8, 2003.• Approved the minutes of the Finance Committee and ratified the actions of the Finance
Committee since the prior Board meeting.• Approved the amendment of WSA’s Bylaws under the “Unclaimed Funds and Benefits”
and “Limitation of Liability” sections*.• Repealed the additional 50% death benefit on qualifying certificates and agreed that
effective July 12, 2003 all death claims payable shall be paid at face amount plus paid-up additional insurance (if applicable) plus death benefit interest as applicable by law.No further business, the meeting was adjourned.

*Unclaimed Funds and BenefitsIf no claim under any benefit certificate or certificate of insurance is received by the Association fromone qualified to submit a claim within two years for the date it is established from the records of theAssociation that the proceeds became due and payable, or if the proper claimant cannot be locatedwithin said period of time, the benefits provided in the member’s benefit certificate or certificate ofinsurance shall be paid pursuant to law. Failure to furnish such proof within the time required shallnot invalidate nor reduce any claim if it was not reasonably possible to give proof within such time,provided such proof is furnished as soon as reasonably possible and in no event, except in theabsence of legal capacity, later than one year from the time proof is otherwise required.Limitation of LiabilityAny action at law or claim against the Association under any benefit certificate, certificate of insur-ance or otherwise shall be instituted within two years from the date on which the cause of action shallaccrue or such shorter period as may be provided by law; failure to do so shall be a complete bar tosuch claim. No such action shall be brought after the expiration of three years after the time proof ofloss is required to be furnished.
