Giving And Receiving Feedback
Giving feedback
effectively is a skill. And like
all skills, it takes practice to build your
confidence and improve.
The purpose for giving
feedback is to improve the situation or
performance.
Feedback isn't about surprising someone so the sooner you do it,
the more the person will be expecting it.
Feedback done in the right way, with the right intentions, is the avenue to
performance greatness.
When you make a conscious choice to give and receive feedback on a regular basis you
demonstrate that feedback is a powerful means of personal development.
Feedback and respectful confrontation are gifts we share to help one another grow.
Effective feedback has
benefits for the giver, the
receiver and the wider
organisation.
Positive feedback is another word for praise
and is all about taking the opportunity to express
appreciation of a job well done.
Feedback is not criticism, it is a supportive act intended to deal with under-performance in a
constructive way.
