“God’s Light Promised”As we start this “God’s Light” sermon series, we have to start
at the beginning! We have to go back to the Garden of Eden
to truly be amazed by the way that God loves us even though
we brought darkness into His
world. We know He loves us
in that He created us and in
fact, made us the pinnacle of
His creation. We know He
loves us in that He breathed
the breath of life into our
lungs and set us on our way
on this earth. But His love is far more amazing than that. The
moment Adam and Eve chose darkness by disobeying God’s
one command in the Garden...He showed them, showed us,
the true extent of His love. He loved us in spite of our sin,
and disobedience and promised, in the Garden, to send His
Son, the Light of the World. In other words, He loved us in
the Garden and all the way to Bethlehem and beyond. And so
today we will explore “God’s Light Promised” in the midst of
our sin!

Water Project “Jugs-O-Coins”We want to say a HUGE thank you to all the families that took the plastic jugs in support of the clean water initiative. We want to not only make this easy for our accounting department, but we also want to provide the most tangible learning experience for your family. So, here’s what we need you to do:
• Before the end of December, as a family, take the coins to your bank and ask them to count/sort the coins for you. (We’ve found that most banks will do this no charge...and you can tell them about this amazing project while you’re at it.)
• Let your kids know (if you have children) how much you were able to raise by just dropping spare change into the jug.. Explore other ways on how to be generous with others.
• Spend time as a family talking about clean water and how privileged we are to have it, but also about reaching out towards those that have less than we do.
• Either write a check to Gloria Dei for the amount of the coins, with “Clean Water” in the memo, or donate through the Gloria Dei App or Website under “Clean Water Initiative” fund.
Thank you for all that you do for God’s Kingdom!

GIV ING TREE
International $25 Donation Outreach: These two items are what $25 will provide:
Mama Kit: In Uganda the women giving birth are required to have a $5 medical kit in order to be allowed to have their baby in the hospital or clinic. No kit? No hospital! Many of them cannot afford the paltry $5 for the kit! So, in partnership with Shining City, you can make that happen for them!
Shoes That Grow: All over the world children are going without shoes and even if they have them, they often grow out of them quickly ending up bare-footed after all. “The Shoe That Grows” is a ministry that provides expandable shoes for children and adults that are not only sturdy, but that also expand (forward and sideways) with the growing foot. The shoes are $20 a pair.
