Well to tell you in short as the major reasons behind these Uprising -

    1. Wide Spread Corruption and Unemployment

    2. Average Population of all these countries is less than 22 years and is unemployed!

    3. Rulers ruling for ages and not bringing in any change

himself after not being allowed to self vegetables..6. Social Networking also played a significant role.. One country achieved success so other felt even they could..

Jasmine Revolution refers to the December-January mass uprising in Tunisia that overthrew president Zine El

Abidine Ben Ali on January 15.It is known so because the national flower of Tunisia is Jasmine. It was sparked

off by the self-immolation of vegetable vendor Mohamed Bouazizi, when he was humiliated by a woman

constable on December 17. It was christened the Jasmine Revolution by the media in keeping with the geopolitical

nomenclature of 'colour revolutions. The movement grew over the issues of unemployment, food inflation,

corruption, lack of freedom of speech and poor living conditions and overflowed into Egypt where it has been

    Why agriculture sector is failing?

-Yield is very low(only 2890 kg per hectare).Thats too low in comparison to China & Japan(close to 5500 kg per

    hectare)

-Bharat Nirmaan's 2nd phase will get over in 2012.Still ,60 percent land is monsoon dependent.

-Fragmented land holdings.Large scale farming is not only productive but also easily managable.

-Huge infrastructure implementation.China's super rice is produced at 13.9 tonnes per hectare.

-Lack of awareness among farmers regarding proper seeds, fertilisers and scietific methods to boost yield.

-Middlemen.They eat up all the profit.Frustated Farmers resort to suicides and if they don't the zeal gets missing.

Now you know why 52 percent workforce contributes only 14 percent to nation's GDP.

India at 1.8 trillion has funds to improve on each one of this. The problem lies in the implementation methods

used by our ill-visioned UPA government. The government is too good at wasting nation's GDP.Examples :

    MGNREGA,Food Security Bill.

Wanted to write about some important concepts in banking industry:

What is NEFT? Ans: National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) is a nation-wide payment system facilitating one-

to-one funds transfer. Under this Scheme, individuals, firms and corporates can electronically transfer funds from

any bank branch to any individual, firm or corporate having an account with any other bank branch in the countryparticipating in the Scheme.

What is IFSC? Ans : IFSC or Indian Financial System Code is an alpha-numeric code that uniquely identifies a bank-

branch participating in the NEFT system. This is an 11 digit code with the first 4 alpha characters representing the

bank, and the last 6 characters representing the branch. The 5th character is 0 (zero). IFSC is used by the NEFT

system to identify the originating / destination banks / branches and also to route the messages appropriately to

    the concerned banks / branches.

    Q1. What is RTGS System?

Ans. The acronym 'RTGS' stands for Real Time Gross Settlement, which can be defined as the continuous (real-

time) settlement of funds transfers individually on an order by order basis (without netting). 'Real Time' means

the processing of instructions at the time they are received rather than at some later time.'Gross Settlement'

means the settlement of funds transfer instructions occurs individually (on an instruction by instruction basis).

Considering that the funds settlement takes place in the books of the Reserve Bank of India, the payments are final

and irrevocable.. How RTGS is different from National Electronics Funds Transfer System (NEFT)?

Ans. NEFT is an electronic fund transfer system that operates on a Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) basis which

settles transactions in batches. In DNS, the settlement takes place with all transactions received till the particular

cut-off time. These transactions are netted (payable and receivables) in NEFT whereas in RTGS the transactions are

settled individually. For example, currently, NEFT operates in hourly batches - there are eleven settlements from

9 am to 7 pm on week days and five settlements from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. Any transaction initiated after

a designated settlement time would have to wait till the next designated settlement time Contrary to this, in the

RTGS transactions are processed continuously throughout the RTGS business hours.

Is there any minimum / maximum amount stipulation for RTGS transactions?

Ans. The RTGS system is primarily meant for large value transactions. The minimum amount to be remitted

through RTGS is ` 2 lakh. There is no upper ceiling for RTGS transactions.

    What is SWIFT code?

SWIFT code is a standard format of Bank Identifier Codes (BIC) and it is unique identification code for a particular

    bank.

These codes are used when transferring money between banks, particularly for international wire transfers. Banks

also used the codes for exchanging other messages between them.

The SWIFT code consists of 8 or 11 characters. When 8-digits code is given, it refers to the primary office.

First 4 characters - bank code (only letters)

Next 2 characters - ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code (only letters)

Next 2 characters - location code (letters and digits) (passive participant will have "1" in the second

    character)

Last 3 characters - branch code, optional ('XXX' for primary office) (letters and digits)

The registrations of SWIFT Codes are handled by Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication

(SWIFT) and their headquarters is located in La Hulpe, Belgium.

    What is MICR code?

MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition which means a technology for recognizing the characters

mainly in the banking industry. This helps in helping in the cheques processing which can also substitute

the account number and routing number provided at the bottom of the cheque. Computers are nowadays

programmed by this technology to read given information from printed documents such as the account numbers.

These are not like barcodes or something similar that require technology reading help. But these MICR codes can

    be read by people.

    What is CFMS?

The Centralised Funds Management System (CFMS), is a system set up, operated and maintained bythe Reserve Bank of India (hereinafter referred to as the Bank) to enable operations on current accounts

maintained at various offices of the Bank, through standard message formats in a secure manner.

The aviation industry has been requesting for a hike since a very long time. Finally there seems to be some kind of

    work happening.

A very important point that you should note is FDI in aviation is not a move to bailout Kingfisher,it is being

    implemented for the overall betterment.

Why will foreign airlines come to India and invest when our aviation industry is in such a bad condition?

everybody wants to invest in big markets.Talking about the big markets,Europe is the worst place to invest as of

now.China doesen't allow foreign airlines. What option do they have? India

Some obvious results of FDI in aviation :-Good Capital.

    -Better Management

    -Global recognition

    -Greater technical exposure

Moreover none of the players in Indian market want to help out(by loans or through equities) the aviation

industry. So the affair between Indian aviation industry and foreign airlines is like "You need me and I need you."

Talking about the current situation ,non-airline companies are allowed to invest upto 49 percent in indian aviation

industry but foreign airlines aren'at allowed to invest directly(security reasons cited).

Earlier in Novermber, Avaition ministry proposed a 24 percent cap while DIPP proposed 26 percent cap for foreign

airlines. Finally in January ,a draft was formalised and Pranab Mukherjee announced that a 49% cap would be

considered by the cabinet. The bill is likely to get passed as there aren't very strong reasons to oppose and all the

major airline comapanies are in dire need of funds(The people who opposed FDI in retail had some really strong

    points ).
