Christopher Gale

Christopher (Chris) Gale is the Managing Director of Latin Resources, an Australian listed mineral exploration company with a specific focus on South America. Latin Resources was one of the very first Australian exploration companies in 2008 to develop a portfolio of high quality iron, copper and mineral sands projects in one of world’s premier mining jurisdictions, Latin America. Mr Gale has extensive experience in senior management roles in both the public and private sectors, especially in commercial and financial roles. He has also held various board and executive roles at a number of mining and technology companies during his career. Chris is the current Chairman of the Council on Australian Latin American Relations (COALAR) established by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). He is also a founding director of Allegra Capital, a boutique corporate advisory firm based in Perth and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Damien Hackett

Damian is Vice Chairman of Mining Advisory at Canaccord Genuity Limited. He was previously Head of Research (UK) & Global Co-Head of Mining at Canaccord Genuity Limited and before that with Credit Suisse as Global Head of Metals and Mining Research, Ranked #1 European Metals & Mining analyst in May 2010 by FT/Starmine. His experience in the mining and metals industry includes work with the Canadian mining consultants Watts Griffis and McOuat focused on base metal and gold project evaluation before moving into the iron ore industry at one of BHP Billiton’s operations in Australia.

Mark Learmonth

Mark has been with Caledonia Mining since July 2008 and is responsible for Corporate Development and Investor Relations. Prior to joining Caledonia, Mark was an investment banker for 17 years in London and Johannesburg with various banks. Most recently he was a director at Macquarie in Johannesburg with responsibility for their African resources investment banking business. Mark is a graduate of Oxford University, he is a Chartered Accountant and he is also an Member of the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe.

Carl Noack

Carl is currently VP - Investments at Altus Capital. He previously was the Business Development Manager for LSE listed Avocet Mining PLC. After graduating from the University of Queensland, Australia with a mining engineering degree he began his career working on various mine sites throughout Australia. Carl has post-graduate qualifications in finance and experience covers both commercial and technical roles within the resources industry.

Andrew Raca

Andrew has a broad range of Corporate Finance experience in the equity capital markets and private arena gained over 25 years. He commenced his career at the investment bank, Barclays de Zoete Wedd. Following three years in family owned businesses he joined Albert E Sharp Securities. Subsequently he worked in senior roles at Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, Arden Partners, Libertas Capital and Blue Oar Securities (as Head of Corporate Finance) and Shore Capital. He has particular responsibility for developing VSA’s activities in the UK public company markets.

Robert McCaffrey - Moderator

Robert McCaffrey is a PhD geologist with 20 years of experience in organising and chairing international meetings in over 30 countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, Iran, Vietnam, the US, Canada, Turkey, Australia, Thailand and Saudi Arabia: all countries with massive mining potential.
