Management
– Presented ISOC overview to LAT IFC meeting
– Provided ISOC plans presentation for DOE mini-review
– Provided ISOC overview for LAT All Hands meeting
– SLAC “Safety comes first” standdown
• Core ISOC staff were able to resume LAT project work relatively rapidly
Work on CDR RFAs
– RFA#6: “Launch Critical Support Plan”
• More details learnt about GSFC IONet and CNE networks
– RFA#7: “Red/Yellow Limits”
• Temperatures: red limits at Acceptance Temp, yellow limits 5C inside AT. Will confirm with LAT Systems Eng that LAT thermal model supports these limits.
• Other limits will be worked with LAT Systems Eng.

ISOC Requirements– Participating in moves of FSW requirements to ground
elements– Expanding mission planning requirements to capture
more details of products and interfaces– Addressing I&T concern about completeness of planned
ISOC capabilities. Have reviewed ISOC requirements with I&T online software developers. Will review ISOC requirements with I&T SVAC.
ISOC Architecture– Work continues on ISOC IT security plan and secure
network configuration– Met with SCS management to understand SLAC network
security and available support for 24/7 ISOC operation

Flight Software coordination– ISOC has worked with FSW team to define contents of
FSW User Guide– ISOC-FSW TIMs continue: reviewed housekeeping
telemetry structure and usage – Addressed ITAR concerns to ensure FSW T&C handbook
is compatible with SAI requirements and PDB Mission Planning
– Had presentations on STK and SatTrack– STK cost is $100k-$200k (1 or 2 fixed base or floating
licenses)– SatTrack cost is $10k per computer. Used at Berkeley
SSL for RHESSI, FAST, WIND and to be used for THEMIS– Use: event prediction, e.g. SAA transits, target visibility,
plus graphic display

ISOC StaffingISOC Staffing
ISOC– Bryson Lee started as software developer on Nov 1. Will
also work– Interviewed 3 candidates for Test Developer position,
without success. B. Lee will support test development in the near term.
FSW– Reworking FSW staffing plans with inputs from Gunther
Haller– Planning for future redeployment of programmer support to
other ISOC needs after FQT SAS
– Search for SAS software infrastructure person started

ISOC Operations FacilityISOC Operations Facility
Long-term ISOC facility– 2 meetings with Roger Blandford (KIPAC Director) on ISOC
use of Kavli building at SLAC.– SLAC Kavli building completion is expected in late 2005– Discussions have focused on “Light Lab” space, approx.
1600 sq. ft. for ISOC operations and some office area, plus offices for other ISOC staff and visiting scientists. Space should be available at building completion.
– ISOC requirement until Launch + 5 years is used for discussions
– Many issues still to be worked: floorplan and build out cost and schedule for lab space
– No firm agreement in place yet until more details are known– Short term planning has dependencies on long-term plans

Start more detailed planning of ISOC participation in LAT I&T activities at SLAC and NRL.– Ensure minimal disturbance of I&T activities, but use the
opportunity to exercise ISOC– Mainly telemetry capture and processing– Investigate some limited command/control opportunities– Need FSW on LAT– Next stage: work with GOWG on details of ISOC activities
