STICK CURTAIN WALLING SYSTEM

FIXING BRACKET
GLAZED OR SPANDREL PANEL
TRANSOM
The stick curtain walling system consists of a bespoke aluminium grid of vertical elements (mullions) and horizontal elements (transoms). These mullion profiles are fixed back to the building structure (beam or slab) and then glass, spandrel or ventilated cladding elements are inserted in the grid on site. Mullions and transoms are manufactured from extruded aluminium bespoke profiles, cut and fabricated in the factory, while the grid is assembled and fixed to the structure on site.

PROFILE
The glazed element are fixed to the grid by means of continuous aluminium pressure plate profiles screw fixed to the body of the mullions and transoms. These pressure plates complete with gaskets, retain the glass or spandrel panels into the aluminium grid. The pressure on the gaskets creating a seal against the weather. Extruded cap profiles can be bespoke designed to meet the specific design intent of the architect. Fiera di Rimini – GMP Architekten

The glazed elements are fixed to the grid by means of toggles, applying pressure to the inner pane, thus creating a seal between the gaskets. The aesthetic appearance is similar to a SSG façade, with no visible external profiles.

The grid and panel curtain walling system allows a certain amount of factory pre-assembling activities of the cassette panels to be inserted into the grid. Prefabricated frames with glazed, metal or stone panels are structurally silicone bonded onto carrier frame in the factory and fixed into the aluminium grid on site.

UNITISED CURTAIN WALLING SYSTEM
FIXING BRACKET
UNIT
The mullions and transoms are factory fabricated into single modules, typically 1500mm wide per storey high. The glazed element/spandrel panels can be fixed to the aluminium frame either by structural silicone, factory bonded or by external visible aluminium glazing retention beads. The units are fixed the building floor slab via fixing brackets which in turn are fixing to cast in channels. The unitised system guarantees excellent quality and is installed from the floor slab inside the building with no external access. External features, brise soleil, external fins, etc. will be installed when the unit is on the floor slab prior to installing the unit onto the façade. Main advantages: - reduction of human resources and/or time for installation of the units on site, generally from slab without the need for scaffoldings - assembling in a controlled area, not affected by weather conditions, that ensures a higher quality of the final product.

BOLT FIXED GLAZING
GLASS PANE
BOLTED FIXING
MAIN STRUCTURE
The glazed elements are fixed to a reticulated bolt which via stainless steel spiders fixing is fixed directly to the structure. The spider fixing can either be fixed directly to a steel structure or to a vertical glass fin. There is often no aluminium grid behind the glass with the only external visible support being the flush fitting reticulated stainless steel glass bolts.
