Did You Know... Mother Cabrini went to Rome and asked the Pope to allow her to go to China to establish missions. The Pope sent her to the United States to help Italian immigrants. On March 31, 1889 she and 6 sisters left for the United States. On

this crossing they spent many days in a great storm. In spite of her great fear of water she encouraged her fellow sisters, who were very frightened, to minister to those on board who were ill. In spite of her lifelong fear of water, Mother Cabrini would cross the ocean 25 times during her 28 year missionary work. Sabías que... Madre Cabrini fue a Roma y le pidió al Papa que le permitiera ir a China para establecer misiones. El Pa-pa la envió a los Estados Unidos para ayudar a los inmigrantes italianos. El 31 de marzo 1889 ella y 6 her-manas se fueron a los Estados Unidos. Durante este viaje pasaron muchos días en una gran tormenta. A pesar de su gran miedo al agua, ella animó a sus hermanas, que estaban muy asustadas, para ayudar a

Barbara (405-923-4493). Our Lady’s Rosary Makers of St. Frances Cabrini in No-vember, 2018 sent 500 rosaries to madre Josephine Es-pinos of the Columban Sisters in Lima, Peru. The Colum-ban Sisters work closely with the Columban Fathers and Mother Josephine requested the rosaries to assist in their missionary work in Peru. Mother Josephine is a cousin of parishioners Marvaline Schlichte and Susan Burroughs who are also members of Our Lady’s Rosary makers at St. Frances Cabrini.
