Boys Basketball
The Boys Varsity basketball team won the Buffalo Grove Thanksgiving
basketball tourney.
The Titans rattled off wins against Naperville Central, 66-51; Zion-Benton,
67-60; Grayslake Central, 59-28; and in the championship game beat host
Buffalo Grove, 87-82.
Will King and Dominic Martinelli made the all-tournament team, with
Martinelli winning the tourney MVP award.
The Titans take on Evanston at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov 29, in the Titan
Dome. They have a home game Saturday, at 2:30 p.m., against Conant in a
non-conference game.
The Boys sophomore team finished in second place at the Notre Dame
Thanksgiving Tourney.
The freshman team won the St. Viator Thanksgiving basketball tourney.
Congrats, great start to the season!
Wrestling
The GBS wrestling team started the season off with wins over Hoffman
Estates and Fenton high school on Tuesday, November 20.
The freshmen and JV both went 2-0 on Tuesday.
The varsity team tied for second place at the Thanksgiving Vernon Hills team
tournament. The varsity team went 8-1. Freshmen Will Collins went 9-0 over
the two day tournament.
Great start to the season!
Girls Gymnastics
The Glenbrook South girls' gymnastics team won their season opener, The Glenbrook Quad, Tuesday night with a team score or 142.05. Deerfield came
in second with 134.00, Vernon Hills third with 117.15 and Evanston in fourth
with 116.25.
Leading the way for the Titans was sophomore Sheena Graham winning
vault with 9.55, beam with 9.35, floor with 9.45 and all around with 36.80.
Co-captain Sarah Healy put in a tremendous showing with a second place on vault with a 9.10, third place on beam with 8.65, second place on floor with
a 9.35 (setting a personal scoring record) and second place in all around
with 35.60.
Elena Pauker and Jenna Hartley tied for first on the bars with 9.15. Also
competing for GBS were co-captain Chloe Nourbash, Emily Wyngarden,
Sydney Willits, Eleni Tryfonopoulos, Stella Khan and Natalia Wojcik.
