ACADEMICSOur students receive an exceptional and comprehensive academic experience. They participate in rigorous academic programs that help them be successful on a daily basis, while preparing them for continued success beyond high school.
Excellence in academics means students can earn college credit while attending high school, and students interested in pursuing university studies beyond their native country have an opportunity to earn the Advanced Placement International Diploma, a globally recognized achievement.
Our school is competitive, comprehensive and student-focused. As part of the Glendale Union High School District, we had the distinct honor of being recognized as Advanced Placement District of the Year, as well as being listed among America’s Top High Schools. These distinguished awards and recognitions are evidence of GUHSD’s academic excellence.
ATHLETICS & EXTRACURRICULARSParticipation in sports and extracurricular activities helps to balance out the classroom side of a student’s education. Our school offers a full array of activities and opportunities for students.
More than 80 percent of our students are involved in athletics or belong to one of more than 40 clubs and organizations offered on campus. We know that participation in extracurricular activities increases students’ sense of engagement and attachment to their school and therefore increases the likelihood of academic success.
FINE & PERFORMING ARTSA well-rounded education includes studying the arts. Our district believes fine and performing arts play an instrumental role in a person’s education, so our school is proud to promote and showcase the immense contribution arts education has in producing engaged, successful, and college- and career-ready students. Disciplines including dance, music, theatre, media arts, design and visual arts are essential elements of a complete and balanced education for all students.
CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATIONAs a member of GUHSD, our school focuses on preparing students for success after high school, whether they choose to pursue higher education or begin a career immediately upon graduating. Career & Technical Education Programs provide hands-on experiences, teach practical job skills, and grant students opportunities to work with industry partners, gain work experiences and build skills. With more than 45 courses from which to choose, our CTE programs prepare students to enter the workforce with the academic and technical skills needed to compete successfully in the job market.
ONLINE LEARNINGStudents can also choose to enroll in the Glendale Union Online Learning Academy, which offers flexible education programs for high school students to achieve their individual goals. Whether a student wants to attend full-time or take an additional class, the online approach offers a wide-range of options. Labs with certified teachers are available to assist and motivate students; a full-time at-home model is also available, in which students visit the Academy only to take final exams.
