Dear parents, Our Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony was held on Wednesday of this week. Students were very respectful and extremely well-behaved in this brief but very solemn ceremony. I would like to acknowledge the great work of the SRC in being the ‘masters of ceremony’ and Miss Milledge for her coordination of the SRC members. Congratulations to Our Representatives in the Spelling Bee – there is an article about their success in this newsletter – thank you also to Miss Stuyck and Miss Willimas for their support and coordination of the team. Concert Ticket Notes have been sent to all families. They clearly outline the process for ordering. We have sent a copy of the floor plan at RHRSL home with this newsletter and there is also a copy on the school website for parents to view. Please note that you DO NOT have the ability to name particular seats in your order. The floor and table seating is clearly shown. Tickets will be allocated in accordance with the receipt of the order. Please ensure your first order is CORRECT, as requests for additional tickets after the initial order is placed will PROBABLY NOT be able to be added to the earlier order and therefore, your seats will not be together. You will receive a map of the seating with your tickets when they are sent home. Parents will be told about the system we will be using to get students back into the care of their parents prior to the night. End of Year Movies – I’m pleased to announce that we will be able to take the students to Penrith cinemas again in 2015. A note detailing all times and costs will be sent home in the near future. Parent Survey – Yes, please….. if you haven’t already done so, please complete your survey for a chance to win a pass to the movies! Kindergarten Enrolments – At present, we have enough students to make four FULL kindergarten classes. Please, if you have not yet enrolled your child for Kindergarten, do so as a matter of urgency. If you have not yet arranged an interview time with Mrs Suri (if your child is already enrolled for Kindergarten), please do so asap. Our Griffin Goal from Wednesday Week 6 to Wednesday Week 8 is:

All students are working towards this Griffin Goal. Our current data shows us, that there are a number of minor misbehaviour incidents, occurring in the class during the middle and afternoon session. We believe that could be during concert practice, and some forgetting their PBL values during this time. The students are very excited for concert, and must persevere by continuing their practises and remembering the behaviour expectations that apply at all times. Please chat to your child/ren about WHY they should follow the Griffin Goal!

Caught you Being tokens – Whole School Reward

Well done everyone! We have reached 1000 tokens – students will be treated to an extra 10 minutes of play at lunch time!

Griffin Awards

Well done to students who have already received a Griffin Award. It is very exciting to see these students, wearing their Griffin Award badges and Griffin Guild patches with pride. These recipients have demonstrated to their teacher and peers, that they have consistently displayed their stage specific PBL goals this semester. We look forward to seeing more and more students receiving their Griffin Awards over the coming weeks!

Feedback from our previous Griffin Goal

Our last Griffin Goal, was “I play safely by keeping my hands and feet to myself”. Our students have done a FANTASTIC job on remembering this Griffin Goal, and ensuring incidents in the playground (including ‘play-fighting/wrestling’) were drastically lower.

Write Away Writing Club

Over the past few weeks, students in Write Away Writing Club have been composing imaginative, short stories for an ‘in-school’ competition. Students have put in a lot of effort and time into their work. Their work was judged by Mr. Meaney and we’re happy to announce our winner – Shaista in 6G. Well done Shaista and congratulations to all our participants! Below are all the students’ work samples, for you to enjoy.
