Mary Alexander (Mrs. Pearce) Mary Alexander has had the good fortune of being in nearly 50 area productions over the years. Frequenters of

Chicago and North Shore area theatres may have seen Mary in some of her favorite roles: Sally in “Follies”, Anna in “The King & I”, Florence in “Chess”, Pam in “Baby” (twice), Fiona in “Brigadoon”, Sr. Mary Amnesia in “Nunsense”, Marian in “The Music Man”, Dolly Levi and Irene Malloy in separate productions of “Hello Dolly”, Sarah in “Guys & Dolls”, Betty Blake in “The Will Rogers Follies” and Amy in “Company” – to name a few. Mary regrets having reached that awkward actress age where she’s too old for many roles and too young for others. Alas . . . the harsh reality of theatre! She was the Eliza runner up for GTG’s production of My Fair Lady sixteen years ago; this time around she’s happy to support her leading-role friends in this wonderful show. To pay the bills, Mary is a Vice President in Global Treasury Sales with JPMorgan Chase. She happily and thankfully shares all of her joys and sorrows with her fabulous husband, Ford Colley, who is playing Colonel Pickering.

Helga K. Amella (Ensemble) Past work includes movies, TV sitcoms, commercials, and company videos. “My Fair Lady” is Helga’s 18th musical. Helga performed

with the Maine Township Soul Train Seniors on WGN TV, as well as with the Niles Senior Chorus and Niles talent shows and Maine Township variety shows. She recently worked on an independent film and was part of a Flash Mob routine with the Maine South High School Dance Class. In April, Helga performed at the Senior Expo at Golf Mill Mall with the Maine Township Zumba Gold exercise class. She is grateful for all the years she is able to enjoy what she loves to do.

Debbie Bales (Ensemble) Debbie thanks Susie, Marty, and Robin for casting her in this production. Performing with the guild is a particular

joy for her since she and husband Dave are founding members of the guild. This marks her 18th onstage performance with them, the last time in “South Pacific.” She and her family, husband Dave, children, Davy, Denise and Dan have been involved one way or the other in most of the productions. She has been involved in 7 productions at the Glenview United Methodist church, their choir and handbell choir. She also sang with the Lutheran Choir of Chicago, which found her touring Scandanavia, Austria, Hungary and Brativslava. When not performing, she spends time working out -- in order to keep up with her grandchildren, Billy, Emelia, Jimmy and Cami – visiting said children and grandchildren, reading and generally enjoying retirement from selling real estate.

Peter Bidny (Harry/Ensemble ) Peter is elated to be back with GTG for My Fair Lady. Performing in last year’s Man of La Mancha after a 20+ year hiatus from

theater (Capt. Barnaby in Babes in Toyland) has rekindled his joy of the stage. He particularly loves the fact that he is doing this alongside his daughter, Sophia. “I especially enjoy singing with the cast this year, and experiencing the blending of voices, the creating of beautiful harmonies.” In his spare time, Peter fixes teeth.

Sophia Bidny (Ensemble) This is Sophia’s second performance with Glenview Theatre Guild. She is part of the Ukrainian Cultural Dance group Ukraina,

and has performed at numerous festivals around Chicago. Sophia also cantors at church. She is very excited to be in My Fair Lady, one of her favorite shows!

Art Bloch (Ensemble) This is Art’s fourth production with GTG. He has previously appeared as the Bookseller (Disney’s Beauty and the

Beast), Commander Harbison (South Pacific) and Hans the butler (The Sound of Music). He looks forward to working with old friends and making new ones in “My Fair Lady”. Art especially wishes to thank his family for encouraging him to participate in this year’s show.

Sandy Borth (Servants’ Chorus/Ensemble) Sandy is delighted to part of this production for GTG. She has appeared in various other productions

including-Kiss Me Kate(Bianca quartet), Beauty and the Beast, Music Man( Mrs. Squires),Seussical- Big Deal Productions; The Wizard of Oz(Optimistic voice), Honk( Maureen)-DFT, The Sound of Music( Frau Schmidt),- CLC; Honk(Low butt) CSLF and Seussical( Mayor’s Wife/Bird Girl)- NSTW. When she is not busy with rehearsals, she uses her spare time to work as a nurse. She is also an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay. She would like to thank Susie, Marty, Robin, Charki, Sally and Janet for their help and encouragement. She would like to thank her family, friends and especially her coworkers for allowing her to sing and dance around them. She would like to thank her fellow cast and crew members for making this a truly loverly summer!

Marianne L. Brown (Dance Assistant, Featured Dancer/Ensemble,) Marianne last performed with GTG 12 years ago as a dancer in “Crazy for You,” and before that

had the privilege to serve as choreographer for 4 GTG productions. She holds a BFA in dance performance from the University of Oklahoma and has been active as a choreographer and dance teacher for over 25 years. She’s worked on

over 100 productions as both performer and choreographer, at Colleges, High Schools, and Theatre groups, including, Highland Park Players, Citadel Theatre, Evanston High School, and The Northbrook Theatre.

Ford Colley (Colonel Pickering) Ford is delighted to be making his tenth appearance with GTG following recent performances as the Narrator in Beauty and

the Beast and R. F. Simpson in Singin In The Rain. Other favorite roles with GTG include Horace Vandergelder in Hello Dolly, FDR in Annie, The Kralahome in The King & I, and 16 seasons ago, as Colonel Pickering in GTG’s1996 production of My Fair Lady. “This is the first time I’ve played the same role twice and it has been fun getting reacquainted with old Pickering, one of my favorite roles” he said. “One of the best things about doing this production is that I get to share the stage once again with the leading lady and love of my life, Mary Alexander (Mrs. Pearce)!” Ford is a professional voiceover actor heard nationally and internationally in many commercials and documentaries, as well as a veteran Chicago radio personality, and can be heard daily on his own Internet Radio Station, “StarSets” at www.121netradio.com.

Jamie Davidson (Jamie/Ensemble) Blimey! Wif a little bit o’ luck, I will absobloomin’lutely sing my ‘arse’ off after oi get juiced up to

celebrate the weddin’ o’ me mate, Doolittle. I got to get him to the church on time and, of course, kick up a rumpus on the way! Recent roles include The Candy Man in Willy Wonka (Highland Park Players - performed on ABC 7 News), Maude in Bye Bye Birdie (also HPP), and Paco/Moorish Dancer in Man of La Mancha (GTG). Thank you very much to the top production team at Glenview Theatre Guild for including me in your performing family.

Erin Egan (Ensemble) Erin is thrilled to be a part of GTG’s production of “My Fair Lady” this summer. She is an avid singer and performer, and just

recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. At the University of Illinois she was music director and member of No Comment, a performing a cappella group. She has participated in numerous musical productions, her favorite role being The Narrator in “Joseph …” Erin is looking forward to beginning her career as a choral/general music teacher beginning in August. She would also like to congratulate the cast, crew, and staff for this amazing production!

Lisa Goldberg (Featured Dancer/Ensemble) Lisa is thrilled to be in her first GTG production and to bring her “triple-threat” talents

back to the musical theatre stage after lending them to mothering and numerous cantorial soloist engagements. Her performance venues have included Washington University in St. Louis, The University of Texas at Austin, Theatre Under the Stars (Houston), Hyde Park Theatre (Austin), Hillel Theatre (St. Louis), Gilbert & Sullivan Society (Chicago), Village Players (Oak Park), and Light Opera Works (Evanston). Some favorite shows were Bye-Bye Birdie (Ursula), Dames at Sea (Mona), Company (April), Cole: a Musical Biography (soloist), Sweet Charity (Helene), and Fiddler on the Roof (Golde). Lisa is very grateful to her husband Michael Cohen and their children Sarah, Adam, and Adina, as well as teachers, friends, and family, for their tremendous support. She dedicates this performance to her mother, who, at 89, is still her best fan.

Missy Greenberg (Queen of Transylvania/Featured Dancer/Ensemble) is thrilled to be back on stage after taking a 3-year hiatus to produce here in the

Chicagoland area. Many of you may remember her in GTG’s KISS ME KATE and THE SOUND OF MUSIC. No stranger to the stage, she has been performing since a very young age and is President of MSG Productions. She is proud to have premiered Seth Rudetsky’s DECONSTRUCTING BROADWAY, MIRANDA SINGS and JIM CARUSO’S CAST PARTY here in Chicago. Endless love to Shawn, Adam and Rachael and Mazel Tov to Adam on his recent graduation from the University of Denver!!

Philip Hasso (Ensemble) Phil is thrilled to return to GTG after last year’s production of “Man of La Mancha”. He is a graduate of Second City’s Acting Program

and iO Theater’s Improv Program. When he isn’t performing for the theatrical arts he devotes his time writing songs and singing for his band The Elephant in the Room. He would like to thank Susie, Marty, Robin, the cast and the rest of the GTG crew for another fantastic experience. For the late Nick Gaa.

Cindy Heidecker (Ensemble) Cindy is thankful for the “little bit of luck” that has brought her to GTG for the first time. Many years ago she performed in

community theatre productions in Brockton, MA where she was a music teacher. More recently, she has been in shows with HPP, Big Noise from Winnetka, and the (sadly defunct) Actors’ Theatre Guild of Glencoe. Now a substitute teacher in Wilmette, Cindy sings in the Chicago Master Singers, which performs in Techny Towers. She dedicates these performances to her father, who sang “I’m Gettin’ Married in the Morning” at every family wedding and anniversary party.

Naomi Hershman (Lady Boxington/Featured Dancer/Ensemble) Naomi is thrilled to be back here in her fourth show with GTG! Loving her vocation

as a vision coordinator during the day, she is as passionate about this terrific avocation! Some of her favorite roles include Meg Boyd in Damn Yankees, Nellie Cohan in George M, Stepmother in Into the Woods, and Smitty in How to Succeed. Naomi would like to thank this tremendous production staff and all of her fellow actors with whom she shares the stage today! Being forever grateful to family and friends for all of their encouragement and support, this comes with special love to Mom and Joni.

Barb Hibnick (Mrs. Hopkins/Servants’ Chorus/Ensemble) Barb is delighted to be spending another summer with GTG. Barb has been honored in recent

years to play Bloody Mary in South Pacific, Mrs. Paroo in Music Man, Mrs. MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie, Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, Sister Margaretta in Sound of Music, and Ernestina Money in Hello Dolly. They are so different from her other life as a real estate agent. Hugs and kisses to my friends

and family for their patience and support during the rehearsal season, especially to Ray. You are the best and I love you!

Tim Huckabay (Ensemble) Tim was last seen on stage in the Savoyaires production of “The Gondoliers”, and has been an ensemble member in several

other Gilbert and Sullivan productions. Tim is having fun in his first gig with GTG!

Sue Jacobson (Ensemble) Sue thinks it is “Loverly” to be part of this wonderful cast. This is Sue’s first experience with GTG. Previously, you may

have seen Sue on stage in the ensembles of “Bye Bye Birdie”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Joseph …”, and “Seussical”, all with BGPD/Big Deal Productions. Maybe you even remember her in high school as part of the ensemble in “Sound of Music” and “Funny Girl”! When not rehearsing or performing, Sue is a busy mom of four kids, 16 to 26 years old, and happily

married to Scott for over 30 years! She enjoys attending musical theater productions, bowling, Girl Scouts, subbing in preschools, rooting for the Cubs, assisting a gift basket designer, taking musical theater and tap dance classes, and lunching with friends. Thanks to Susie, Marty, Robin, Charki, Sally, and all of the staff for giving Sue this chance to wish she “Could Have Danced (and Sang) All Night”! Break a leg to the cast!!!

Gretchen Kimmeth (Elliza Doolittle) Gretchen is delighted to return to GTG in one of her very favorite roles! Gretchen played Lina Lamont in GTG’s

Singin’ in the Rain, and hopes one day to use her actual voice in a GTG show. Most recently, Gretchen played Maria in The Sound of Music (Starlight Theatre), and Peppermint Patty in Snoopy! (Highland Park Players). Other favorites include Amalia in She Loves Me (Music on Stage) and April in Company (Steel Beam). Gretchen thanks her family and friends, near and Dear, for their support, and sends her love to the abso-bloomin’-lutely wonderful men in her life: Robert, Theo and Gus.

Page 13: Glenview - My Fairy Lady_FINAL

Kevin Kirkpatrick (Professor Henry Higgins) Kevin is thrilled to return to the GTG stage where he played Tommy Albright in “Brigadoon” (1993)

and Gerald Bolingbroke in “Me and My Girl” (1992). Although the role of Henry Higgins has been at the top of Kevin’s “bucket list” for years, he has also enjoyed playing Fredrik Egerman in two productions of Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music”, Alfred/Sam in “Romance/Romance”, David in “Company”, and the rather vaguely named “Man #2” in “Closer than Ever.” Kevin dedicates his performance to his wife Geri, who has carried an even heavier load than usual the past few months, and to their six-year-old daughter, Caroline, who is seeing her father perform on stage for the very first time.

Judy Klarfeld (Mrs. Higgins) Musicals and dramas have shared center stage for Judy over several decades. She has played leading roles as diverse as

Elizabeth, the Queen, the Mad Woman of Chaillot, Nurse Ratched in Cuckoo›s Nest, Regina in Little Foxes, Golde Meier, Golda in Fiddler, and Mame, a role she performed here at GTG. More recently she has portrayed Jeanette, the raunchy piano player in the Full Monty and the cranky grandmother (who gets buried in the garden) in Citadel›s ‹Til the Fat Lady Sings. Favorite musical roles include Bloody Mary, Bea in Ballroom, Marian in Music Man, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes and Aunt Lil in Take Me Along, at Hull House many moons ago. Hooray for musical theatre!!! Judy›s real claim to fame, however, are her fond memories of tap dance lessons with Gene Kelly in her native Pittsburgh.

Maureen McGarvey (Ensemble) Maureen has been involved in theatre along the North Shore for many years. Theatre has given Maureen

the opportunity to meet new people, while sharing a common interest … MUSIC! She is delighted to be a part of the Glenview Theatre Guild for the first time.

Jim Merfeld (Lord Boxington/Servant’s Chorus/Ensemble) Jim is thrilled to be working for the first time with the GTG. He has been part of the Buffalo Grove

Singers and Encore groups the last 14 years as well as appearing in many local community theater group productions including Fiddler On The Roof with HOTT (Mordcah the Innkeeper), the Stage Manager in Kiss Me Kate (BGPD), Smee in Peter Pan (DFT), the Butler in Joseph…(BGPD), Mayor Shinn in the Music Man (DFT), Andrew Carnes in Oklahoma (DFT), Pawnee Bill in Annie Get Your Gun (BGFD), Mr. Twimble/Wally Womper in How To Succeed … (BGPD) and in his first production upon moving to Chicago he played the part of Joseph in Joseph… at Temple Chai. Jim is really excited to be working with many of his theater friends again. He also sends love to his wife Joni and children Brian, Andrea, granddaughter Jordyn, Lindsey and Merrill.

Aaron Miller (Ensemble) Aaron is thrilled to be involved with GTG’s production of My Fair Lady. This is the third community theater production

he has participated in over the last two years, and is glad to be “back” and active in the performing arts. Thank you Robin and Marty, for using such a wonderful approach with the ensemble. Special thanks to Nikki and Olivia for supporting my commitment to performance.

Gene Minner (Ensemble) is happy to return to GTG to join the wonderful cast of MFL. Last time out he played Mr. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice for Skokie’s

Devonshire Playhouse. It was fun being

the father of five rambunctious young ladies in19th century England. Originally from NYC, Gene has been in the Midwest since 1975.

Katie Monahan (Servants’ Chorus, Featured Dancer/Ensemble) Katie feels bloomin’ lucky to be making her GTG debut, and thanks the cast, crew, and

staff for making this a loverly experience! Katie is a Board Trustee at GreenMan Theatre Troupe and has performed there in Ravenscroft, Shakespeare in Hollywood, Pride & Prejudice, and two original murder mysteries. Credits elsewhere include Enchanted April, Godspell, Moon Over Buffalo, Crazy For You, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Many thanks to family, friends, David, and “Thee Gang” for their love and support.

Leo Morton (Zoltan Kaparthy /Ensemble) Leo is thrilled to be a part of GTG again & is humbled to share the stage with such an incredibly talented cast! Past on

stage credits include GTG’s Damn Yankees, Annie, Hello Dolly!, Fiddler, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and many ATC’s productions over the years. His daytime role is as a Pediatric Dentist with offices in Glenview, Niles and Hoffman Estates (Shameless Plug – Call for an appointment – tell your friends). Favorite roles are husband to Sheryl (Props &Set Decorator), father to Jeremy, Amanda, daughter-in-law, Valerie, son-in-law, Jacob, and “D-D” to his special grandchildren, Ryan, Shane, and Max. You might also catch John in supporting background roles in the upcoming Starz show “Boss” and the new “Superman” movie, which were filmed in Chicago.

Julie Schneider (Mrs. Eynsford-Hill/Ensemble) Julie is excited to be in her second show with GTG after appearing in last year’s production of Man of

in Meet Me in St. Louis, along with earlier roles in West Side Story, 110 in the Shade, and Joseph. Anita graduated in voice, and spent twelve years writing, recording and touring as a folk singer. Carson VanHorn (Ensemble) Carson has been doing theatre for the majority of his life and is excited to be in his first GTG show and thanks everyone

who helped him get this especially his family. Carson actually auditioned for Beauty and the Beast, but wasn’t cast, so he is honored to have been cast in My Fair Lady and hopes to do many more.

Earl Warner (George the bartender/Ensemble) Last year, Earl was in the GTG production of “Man of La Mancha” (ensemble). For the past three years, he

The Glenview Theatre Guild (GTG) was founded in 1974 with the mission to offer Glenview and the surrounding communities a high quality, low cost exposure to theater. In addition, as a sponsored program of the Glenview Park District, GTG enables talented individuals from Glenview and through Chicagoland to share their gifts on stage. Each year we present a major musical production at Glenbrook South High School, although Glenbrook North High School is considered our second home. On an average, about 2,500 to 3,000 theatre patrons enjoy each year’s production. The annual show typically involves a cast of 40-50 singers, dancers, and actors from Glenview and the surrounding communities. In addition, we have a support staff of an additional 30-40 people (e.g., director, choreographer, music director, producer, costume designer, set designer, stage crew, etc.). Most of the individuals involved in the show volunteer their time and talents to bring quality, affordable entertainment to the community. The Glenview Theatre Guild fosters a sense of community among all persons involved in putting on a production. All the months of work really pay off when we present a professional, quality production to you, our audience!
