GLIMPSES FROM HAJJ

We went through different glimpses during the journey of hajj, the life journey. When you see that

Allah prescribed hajj once in a lifetime, there is a reason behind that. You see life in a matter of days.

After yesterday’s glimpse of sacrifice, we now have a glimpse of happiness.

HAJJ IS A SCHOOL FOR TEACHING US ( هللا اال اله ال )

Hajj is a school to teach you ( هللا اال اله ال ). During hajj you will still do the worships like prayer for

example, but you will not have time for the voluntary. You will focus on the obligatory to cement ( اله ال

هللا اال ).

During hajj you go through different types of experience, and different trials and tests, despite being

unnerving, everybody still feels happy.

MOMENT TO REJOICE

Allah is encouraging His servants to draw themselves closer to Him by obeying and submitting to Him,

and Allah has promised them that they will be happy. And Allah’s promise is always true.

What gives you the happiness? The favor and bounties of Allah and His mercy. We can’t just see it with

our eyes, we have to see it with our heart.

WHY ARE WE REJOICING? – BECAUSE OF ALLAH ’S MERCY AND BOUNTY

When Allah made it easy for any of us to perform a worship, whether to pray, memorize Quran,

perform umrah, hajj, etc this is a bounty and mercy from Allah. And the believer will be happy with any

favors from Allah, so his happiness will be attached to him.

The worships have a different kind of happiness and Allah is even teaching us when to feel happy and

when to be sad. We are to be happy when worships are opened for us.

In Surah Al Qasas, the story of Qarun, he was told not to rejoice because of the material wealth he had.

But in this ayah, Allah is commanding us to be happy with the worship.

So when I am happy because it is a command of Allah, this happiness itself is a worship, subhan Allah.

You need to be happy because of the blessings of the religion and thr blessings of the worship. Many

people do not understand why we are happy during hajj when so many things are happening? But you

need to be happy because it is a command of Allah, and Allah will appreciate your happiness. And He

will give you more energy to worship Him even more and draw closer to Him. Subhan Allah. Just by

being happy, Allah will shower you with more strength to keep going.

I want to be happy so that I get that elevation and expiation of sins. Subhan Allah.

WHEN YOU GO FOR HAJJ, YOU WISH TO RETURN AGAIN

When you perform the hajj and you are happy, you will wish to return again. And that is a sign that

Allah appreciated your happiness.

And that happiness comes because it is Allah who placed it in your heart.

THE HAPPINESS THAT ALLAH HAS PLACED IN YOUR HEART

For every moment of our life, we should feel happy for the worships, because this happiness is like a

charger. It motivates you to keep going on your path to the pleasure to Allah, it uplifts you.

Unlike someone who is sad, they are down and weak, and are not moving forward. You can see that

they are slow on the path to the pleasure of Allah.

Just feel happy, but it is you who must initiate it – to feel happy for the worship.

TWO TYPES OF HAPPINESS

There are two types of happiness:

o One is materialistic: like happy with the duniya, kids. It is a temporary happiness.

o One is spiritual: which is forever and everlasting, because it is from the heart. You are happy

about the akhira.

DURING THE HAJJ, ALLAH HAS DISABLED ALL MATERIAL HAPPINESS

During the hajj, Allah will disable all of the material / tangible happiness.

When you look at the environment of Mecca, there are no trees, there are no rivers, the scenery is not

appealing, there is a crowd, the weather is hot.

So when you look at it from 1d perspective it is unappealing, but there is great wisdom behind it.

People complain about this but complaining won’t help.

WHAT IS THE WISDOM?

The wisdom is that Allah wants you to experience the spiritual happiness if you are truthful about your

hajj. The one who is truthful about his journey will experience different types of happiness that cannot

be explained. Subhan Allah.

Imagine if the scenery was green, weather was cool, people are all organized, then there will be mixed

feelings. You might enjoy it because of the ‘outer’ and will not be able to differentiate between the

materialistic / temporary and spiritual happiness.

Surah Ibrahim 37: ( م بيتك عند زرع ذى غير بواد ٱلمحر ) (an uncultivable valley by Your Sacred House (the

Ka'bah at Makkah))

And this will show your truthfulness in the hajj compared to all of the worships.

HAPPINESS IS NOT BASED ON PLACE BUT CONNECTION TO ALLAH

In order to realize that happiness is not because of the place of the climate, the happiness of the

people who go to hajj is to purify your happiness and to taste the happiness when you are connected

to Allah.

The happiness that you learn during hajj is when you are close and connected to Allah.

That’s why during the hajj, millions of people coming to the same place, it teaches iklhas, purity.

Because you need to do a worship in the middle of the crowds and not mind them, and purify your

intentions. And this ikhlas will make you feel happiness.

Allah wants your happiness during hajj to be sincerely for Hime. He wants your happiness to come

through one door – a direct connection with Allah.

Sometimes it enters your heart when you see people are pushing, people looking unclean or throwing

things on the floor, but Allah wants you to see these things to make your happiness sincere for Him.

THE HAPPY ONE IS THE ONE WHO IS CONNECTED TO ALLAH, THE MISERABLE ONE IS THE ONE DISCONNECTED

If you are connected to Allah, then you will be happy. A miserable person is the one who is not

connected to Allah.

If your heart is connected to Allah, then that happiness is there. But when you turn your heart away

from Allah, then you have cut that rope, and you will lose that happiness.

In hajj, Allah disabled all types of material happiness, just as in Ramadan, all the devils are chained in

order to build your taqwa. And so during hajj, you will the everlasting, spiritual happiness.

During the hajj it is a means to have the true happiness and you will see it very clearly. What it means

to be purely happy when you are connected to Allah. Subhan Allah.

ALL WORSHIPS HAVE A CHARGE OF HAPPINES

When you look at the worships ordained upon us, they all have a type of happiness associated with

them. And it depends on the dose you need.

Prayer is a charge that is needed five times a day:

For example, the prayer is needed five times a day, so think of it as needing five doses of happiness.

When we perform the fajr prayer, you need to feel happy after it because you prayed, and that is a

great favor from Allah.

You need to initiate that happiness. And when you feel happy, Allah will appreciate it and He will keep

you happy and going until the Dhuhr prayer. Try not to delay it because you are in need of that

happiness. And if you need extra doses of happiness, you have the voluntary prayers.

Friday is a charge for the week:

You also have extra charge from Friday to Friday. For the men there is the Friday prayer, we also have

the reading of Surah Al Kahf. That dose that you get from that Friday will last for a week. Remember

this is not material happiness, but happiness with Allah.

Ramadan is a charge for the whole year:

Yearly happiness is the dose we get from Ramadan, and that dose of happiness will last until the next

Ramadan. And the better your fast is with faith and taqwa, the better the quality of the happiness.

Hajj is a charge for a lifetime:

And the charge taken from the hajj will last you your entire life. Subhan Allah.

If you have an inacceptable hajj, that energy and happiness will last you the whole life. The max

happiness you will get from the worships is from the hajj. We ask Allah to grant us the hajj mabroor,

acceptable hajj. Ameen.

THE ONE WHO PERFORMS THE ACCEPTABLE HAJJ WILL SEE WHAT NO EYE HAS SEEN, NO EAR HAS HEARD, AND NO HEART CAN IMAGINE

The one who performs the hajj mabroor, will rejoice, and will see what no eye has seen, no ear has

heard, and nothing that crossed the heart. This is the description of paradise, but the one who

performs the hajj for the sake of Alalh, he will have the happiness that cannot be described, as if he is

living in paradise. Subhan Allah.

The hajj al marbroor will give you the happiness because Allah is the One who took charge to honor His

guests and to grant them happiness for all of their lives.

So all glory be to Allah the Magnificent, Lord of the Honorable Throne, The Bestower, Owner of all

Majesty and Honor. Subhan Allah.

A glimpse of happiness that is seen during hajj is so clear because He wants us to be happy after we

come back.

When we are worshiping, praying, attending class, facing trials, dealings with people, etc. remember to

be happy, and Allah will appreciate it and make you happy.

So we need taqwa in the first place, with that comes magnification of Allah, then comes the sacrifice

for the sake of Allah, and then we have happiness.

REWARD FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE AND DO GOOD DEEDS

Look at the reward for the one who does good deeds, whether male or female, and he is a believer,

then Allah promises him surely that He will make him live a happy life. And this is a promise of Allah.

And Allah will grant happiness from all angles. Allah will give satisfaction, tranquility, and the ultimate

reward of paradise.

Imagine how little we do, but Allah will give us the happiness for all of our lives. We should feel happy

for the favors and mercy of Allah. May Allah make us of those who perform the righteous good deeds

and to make the good deeds to come to us. Ameen

You need to do the good deeds and believe and Allah will give you the beautiful life in this life, so

imagine how it will be in paradise.

May Allah use as a means to get closer to Allah and to feel happy when we are connected to Allah. Ameen.

May Allah shower you with blessings and happiness in this life and the hereafter and may He give you the

happiness that will never cease. Ameen.
