What is a Global Ambassador?
Global Ambassadors visit local schools
and organizations on a volunteer basis
and talk about their cultures and
countries. The program helps educate
people about the rest of the world and
helps eradicate myths and stereotypes
about other cultures and countries.

BECOMING A GLOBAL AMBASSADOR Who can be a Global Ambassador? Any international student enrolled at UH Hilo or
Hawai’i CC is eligible to join.
How do I become a Global Ambassador? Complete the application and submit it to the
International Student Services & Intercultural
Education (ISS & IE) office. You will then be
contacted about training and upcoming events.
Applications are available outside the ISS & IE
office (Room 206 on the 2nd floor of the Student
Services Building) or online at
hilo.hawaii.edu/studentaffairs/international/
Are there membership fees? No, membership is free.
What activities will participate in? Global Ambassadors have visited many schools
in the Hilo community and classrooms on the UH
Hilo campus and have successfully
communicated their cultures to students through
interactive presentations.
