Global Cinematography Institute – Two Years HOLLYWOOD, CA. March 1, 2014Global Cinematography Institute (www.globalcinematography.com ) is entering its third year. Two year ago we started teaching the new subject - "Expanded Cinematography", the discipline for studies of cinematographic arts, in particular, and visual arts in general. The recent article called “Redefining Cinematography” in the Computer Graphics World magazine put the genesis and essence of GCI in the few very precise words: "In 2012, Yuri Neyman and Vilmos Zsigmond, two well-known cinematographers obsessed by the idea that the art of cinematography was lost to the flash-bang of digital effects, founded The Global Cinematography Institute (GCI)." Important to notice that GCI is not a one-time seminar or workshop, but an innovative system of education, with a sophisticated interwoven curriculum which leads selected students from many different technical and multi- cultural backgrounds, to the integrated understanding of the nature of the modern image making process and the role of contemporary cinematographer in it. The goal of the Global Cinematography Institute is to prepare filmmakers to take advantage of on-going advances in digital and virtual image making technologies. GCI is not only for cinematographers. Directors, producers, editors, colorists, VFX specialists and even sound technicians study with us in a order to know more about today’s image- making process, from very basic fundamental understanding of imagery, to the complex cinematographic techniques of “Expanded Cinematography” and “Virtual Image Making”. The flow of technical, artistic and methodological information about all aspects of modern cinematography starts with the Introduction Level of instruction, which then smoothly transforms into Level One, then into Level Two. Combining specialized seminars, screenings and studies, which together with homework assignments, provides GCI students the firm foundation for enhancing and upgrading their careers in the film/television industries of USA, Canada, Brazil, UK, Germany. Poland, Italy, Norway, Malaysia, Argentina, Salvador, China and many other countries from around the world. The amalgam of disciplines studied in GCI is indispensable for young and “seasoned” cinematographers and filmmakers in general for all who wild like to move forward, to excel, and to “stand out” in our highly competitive Industry. Many of our students already got “promoted” – they are shooting bigger budget films, and they got hired because in addition to improved knowledge and experience in “classical” cinematography” - lighting, composition, image management, they brought to the producers and directors table a knowledge of previsualization, virtual lighting and virtual cameras.

Global Cinematography Institute – Two Years HOLLYWOOD, CA. March 1, 2014— Global Cinematography Institute (www.globalcinematography.com) is entering its third year. Two year ago we started teaching the new subject - "Expanded Cinematography", the discipline for studies of cinematographic arts, in particular, and visual arts in general. The recent article called “Redefining Cinematography” in the Computer Graphics World magazine put the genesis and essence of GCI in the few very precise words: "In 2012, Yuri Neyman and Vilmos Zsigmond, two well-known cinematographers obsessed by the idea that the art of cinematography was lost to the flash-bang of digital effects, founded The Global Cinematography Institute (GCI)." Important to notice that GCI is not a one-time seminar or workshop, but an innovative system of education, with a sophisticated interwoven curriculum which leads selected students from many different technical and multi-cultural backgrounds, to the integrated understanding of the nature of the modern image making process and the role of contemporary cinematographer in it. The goal of the Global Cinematography Institute is to prepare filmmakers to take advantage of on-going advances in digital and virtual image making technologies. GCI is not only for cinematographers. Directors, producers, editors, colorists, VFX specialists and even sound technicians study with us in a order to know more about today’s image-making process, from very basic fundamental understanding of imagery, to the complex cinematographic techniques of “Expanded Cinematography” and “Virtual Image Making”.

The amalgam of disciplines studied in GCI is indispensable for young and “seasoned” cinematographers and filmmakers in general for all who wild like to move forward, to excel, and to “stand out” in our highly

competitive Industry.

Here are students, in their own words, describing their enriching experience during and after their studies with GCI:

GCI offers a fresh and pioneering departure from the older curriculum taught at traditional film schools, or workshops and seminars. GCI is the first who is successfully intertwining modern image-making practices in a hands-on manner utilizing the latest technology, artistic achievements and applied it to the task of upgrading and perfecting skills of today’s cinematographers.
