OpenText Analytics and Reporting was selected after an on-site proof of concept. The company liked the technical advantages of the OpenText Information Hub (iHub), including its open and scalable architecture, integrated formats and object orientation. One of the main technical requirements was to “white label” reports for various customers. Through iHub’s reporting technology, customer engineers were able to develop one report design, but dynamically change customer logos, colors, groupings or even chart styles, depending on the customer who queries the report. The support of multiple languages was an important factor as well—that criterion was also met. Present in more than 25 locations worldwide, with approximately 4,000 employees, this global financial services firm provides banks, brokers, asset managers and insurers with a full range of securities services adapted to the latest financial market and regulatory trends.

Global Financial Services Firm Thrives with New Reporting OptionsCompany sets out to wow customers with the flexible, customizable reporting of OpenText™ Information Hub

Updating Reporting OptionsFor this company, reporting is considered an important service, in keeping with its business model. They use it for:

• The generation of reports for internal users and external clients

• Ad hoc queries of non-IT clients

• The automated generation of mass reporting

Their previous reporting engine, at the end of its life cycle, didn’t fulfill business and IT needs any longer. The company searched for a solution that would also allow consolidation with reports from OpenText™ Analytics and Reporting, which was already in use.

One Report Design, Singular Customer SupportBased on detailed, pre-defined criteria, a long list of vendors was reduced to three potential providers. OpenText Analytics and Reporting was selected after an on-site proof of concept. The company liked the technical advantages of the OpenText™ Information Hub (iHub), including its open and scalable architecture, integrated formats and object orientation.

Swift action in response to a migration issue further convinced the organization that they had chosen the right partner. OpenText provided a task force with professionals and managers from different departments and solved the issues in a customer-oriented, pragmatic manner.

New Functionalities for Enhanced Use The company’s old reporting engine, as well as most business analytics and reporting alternatives, couldn’t keep up with the new functionalities required. A developer would need to create and maintain separate copies of the same report to provide different labels or different languages for a customized report. With iHub, the company is now able to create numerous unique expressions of a report, with the effort needed to create only one report.

iHub’s Java-based, open platform also allows the company’s engineers to expand upon its extensive functionalities. By doing so, the company could move beyond standard solutions.

“The Java-based, open platform allows our engineers to expand upon the extensive functionalities of OpenText Information Hub. This enables them to develop not only standard solutions, but achieve extraordinary developments we need to succeed in the financial sector.”
