PROGRAM BENEFITState Agency coordination(Office of the Governor EDT) EDT will serve as a coordination conduit to State agencies, partners and resources.

Texas Enterprise Fund(Office of the Governor EDT)

The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) is the largest “deal-closing” fund of its kind in the nation. The fund is a cash grant used as a financial incentive tool for projects that offer significant projected job creation and capital investment where a single Texas site is competing with another viable out-of-state option.

Governor’s University Research Initiative

This past legislative session, lawmakers allocated $40 million for the Governor’s University Research Initiative for the strategic purpose of enhancing research programs at Texas public universities and attracting nationally-recognized researches and Nobel Laureates.

Enterprise Zone Project(Office of the Governor EDT)

Potential Sales and Use tax refund based on new and existing jobs associated with the qualified business site during designation period. Projects are awarded through competitive rounds.

Product Development & Small Business Program(Office of the Governor EDB)

A secured low-interest loan may be offered contingent on board(s) approval and final due-diligence/assessment. The rate is variable.(1) Real property. The maximum term of a loan to finance real property may not exceed

20 years.(2) Tangible personal property. The maximum terms of a loan to finance tangible

personal property may not exceed 15 years.

(3) Other loans. The maximum term of a loan shall have a maturity satisfactory to the board and any third-party guarantor or insurer.

Events Trust Fund Texas’ event trust fund programs help its communities offset the costs of hosting sporting and non-athletic events.
