NCAP Delegates Depart
The 2016 Global NCAP Annual Meeting will be held on October 26 -28 at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Vehicle Research Centre (VRC) near Charlottesville, Virginia in the United States of America. The Annual Meeting will also feature an Open Day on Fleet Safety organised in association with the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety. The Open Day will include a seminar of best practice in fleet safety and the launch of Global NCAP’s safer vehicle purchase guidelines 2016-2018. Vehicle safety demonstrations will include a car to car test and key crash avoidance technologies as promoted by the Stop the Crash Partnership. These demonstrations will take place at the VRC’s test facilities including their newly established covered dome test track. The Annual Meeting will bring together NCAPs worldwide with major fleet operators and focus on the role that new technologies can play in contributing to the United Nation’s goal to halve road deaths and injuries by 2020. Delegates will stay at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville and have the opportunity to visit the home of former President Thomas Jefferson at Monticello (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and also a leading Virginia vineyard.
