GS Global was designated as Korea’s 2nd General Trading Company, and played an significant role in developing the national economy.
GS Global Japan Corporation executed equipment investments to construct cement distribution network base in Japan. Consequently, GS Global possesses 3 cement silos in Japan, supplying high-quality cement to Japanese customers.
In addition to 100 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize 1975 and 1 Billion Dollar Export Tower Prize in 1982, GS Global was awarded with 2 Billion Dollar Export Tower Prize in 1991.
GS Global also established Suzhou Steel Service Center which functions as a new platform for GS Global’s steel business.
In addition to this, GS Global jointly established coil centerwith Dongkuk Steel in India targeting vastly growinghome appliance sector. With such investment, GS Global iscontinuously extending its value chain to obtainsustainable growth.
In 1954, Kumsung Industry Corporation wasestablished as a professional import and exportcompany. The company was located at 63, 2-ga, Jeodong, Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea.
Kumsung Industry had changed its name to Ssangyong in 1975, and maintained its name until it incorporated into GS Group in 2009.
In 1964, GS Global opened Tokyo Office in Japan as its first overseas office. The company consecutively opened its international offices in New York and Jakarta, expanding its foreign network. The Tokyo and New York Offices were converted to GS Global Japan Corporation (1977) and GS Global U.S.A. Inc. (1973).
GS Global officially incorporated into GS Group in July 2009. Since joining GS Group, GS Global constantly enhances the company management system by introducing ERP system, reinforcing organization’s capabilities and recreating the corporate culture of GS Global.
Recognizing the potentials of Chinese markets since 1980s, GS Global initiated indirect trading with China via GS Global Hong Kong Corporation. The Company established Beijing Office (1991), Guangzhou Office (1993), Shanghai Office (1993) and Dalian Office (1993), solidifying its position as a pioneering company in opening Chinese markets.
In particular, Beijing and Shanghai offices each accomplished exports over $100 million dollar since first five years of its establishments.

GS Global acquired shares of BSSR, one of thelargest coal mining companies in Indonesia, and hasoff-take right to secure BSSR coal. BSSR produces10 million of thermal coal per annum. GS Global willexpand its coal trading portfolio through varioustypes of business models.
GS Global opened Korea’s first and biggest PDI center for imported cars in Incheon as part of the business diversification plan. The PDI center was later relocated to Pyeongtaek in 2011. In 2008, GS Global newly expanded into Leisure Sports business by dealing various types of bicycles.
GS Global was awarded Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in Nov 1972.

Since then, We are providing best services to automobile companies (Honda, Nissan, Inifiniti, Porsche, Subaru, Audi and Volkswagen) with its latest PDI system.
As of 2014, GS Global’s PDI service maintains a market share of approximately 38%, and is striving to increase its PDI volume. By introducing various foreign items into domestic market, Logistics Team strives to discover and promote brands that are capable of flourishing with GS Global.
In addition, base on the optimal locational condition in Pyeongtaek, we are operating facilities including 14 storage tanks (total storage capacity : 112,580㎘) to ship petroleum products rapidly and precisely. The background rationale of entering into SOC business is that, with strategic use of the
facilities with logistics infrastructures developed through SOC projects, we believe we could
facilitate more efficient business expansion to enhance our logistics capabilities for future
growth.
BusIness FIeLDsCurrently, with mandates from government, we are engaged in 2 development projects at
Pyeongtaek Port area which is highly evaluated to have a great potential for future growth
in logistics business with the benefit of its outstanding geographical advantages. The first
one is a development business to build up a general bulk cargo port scaled of 2 berths for
30,000DWT and the second is port hinterland development.
MAjoR BusIness ACtIVItIesFor the port development project, it is the first case for government to allow the private sector
to develop a bulk cargo port through BTO (Build-Transfer-Operate) type. In October 2015,
officially selected by government as a developer, we are taking steps to carry out the project
with a goal of launching the new port in 2023.
As for the port hinterland development expected to be completed in 2023, we obtained
a government’s approval in August 2016 to create land of 1,133,997m2 by reclamation of
seashore for use of logistics and manufacturing facilities.
