TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

Page 4: GLOBAL RISK SOCIETY Valeska, Franzi, Caro, Isabelle, Clara, Lennart, Thomas, Peter-Jan, Julius.

EXAMPLES

Chemical weapons

Genetic engeneering

Nuclear energy

CHEMICAL WEAPONS

Chemical weapons are mostly man-made toxins

Countries are suspected of chemical weapons

For example Iran, Iraq, USA, UK, Syria and China

In the Iran there was because of the use of chemical weapons in a war…

CHEMICAL WEAPONS

Problems :

- Use of chemical weapons couses bacl injuries and using them is against very important human rights ever more against human rights than war.

CHEMICAL WEAPONS

Solution :

- A solution would be that you dispose of the chemical weapons and global set designs which prohibits the use of chemical weapons.

GENETIC ENGINEERING

manipulation of an organism's genome using biotechnology.

E.G. : cloning, gender selection…

Page 9: GLOBAL RISK SOCIETY Valeska, Franzi, Caro, Isabelle, Clara, Lennart, Thomas, Peter-Jan, Julius.

GENETIC ENGINEERING

Problems :

- What if we begin to make other people by machines ?

- What if you can choose the Intelligence of baby´s ?

Page 10: GLOBAL RISK SOCIETY Valeska, Franzi, Caro, Isabelle, Clara, Lennart, Thomas, Peter-Jan, Julius.

GENETIC ENGINEERING

Solutions :

- Good agreements with strict laws

- We must stop cloning of people

NUCLEAR ENERGY

Nuclear energy usually means the part of the energy of an atomic nucleus, which can be released by fusion or fission or radioactive decay

NUCLEAR ENERGY Problems :

- Danger of accidents

- Pollution because of the uranium

- No solution because of the disposal problems

- Danger of terrorism

- Limited availability of uranium

Page 14: GLOBAL RISK SOCIETY Valeska, Franzi, Caro, Isabelle, Clara, Lennart, Thomas, Peter-Jan, Julius.

NUCLEAR ENERGY

Solution :

- Stop producing energy with nuclear power, use renewable energy

MODERN PROBLEMS

Overpopulation

Today population about 7 billion 2050 = 10 billion

Without importing recourses from other

countries Europa would have to less food

We need much more than we can grow

Page 16: GLOBAL RISK SOCIETY Valeska, Franzi, Caro, Isabelle, Clara, Lennart, Thomas, Peter-Jan, Julius.

MODERN PROBLEMS

Another modern problem is the world poverty

Big problem unequal distribution of money

Rich countries ( Germany)

poor countries (Romania)

Page 17: GLOBAL RISK SOCIETY Valeska, Franzi, Caro, Isabelle, Clara, Lennart, Thomas, Peter-Jan, Julius.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS

global warming

Earthquakes

meteor showers

GLOBAL WARMING: CAUSES Man-made causes (antropogenic causes) e.g. pollution, population, … Natural causes e.g. release of methane gas, climate changes, …

Consequences Health Weather Patterns Wildlife Glaciers and sea levels

SOLUTIONS

Efficient use of energy

Alternative energy resources

METEOR SHOWER

is a celstial event in which a number of meteors are abserved to radiate from one point in the night sky

the meteors are caused by streams of cosmic debris called meteorids entering earth‘s atmosphere at extremly high speeds on parallel trajectories

most are smaller than a grain of sand, so almost all of them desinegrate and never hit the earth‘s surface
