EUROGI, Esri, … take part) • Committee on EO Satellites (CEOS) WGISS – GSDI is represented at

Legal & Socioeconomic Activities
• Latest L&SE Committee project is to attempt definition of a global geospatial data licensing framework.
• Conducting survey of existing licensing frameworks, globally (still underway).
• Presented preliminary results at workshop at GSDI-12 in Quebec, Canada, May 2012.
• Also identifying cost-benefit and socio-economic benefit studies/reports for the GIKnet.

• Led by the GSDI Societal Impacts Committee
• Administer the GSDI Small Grants Award Program since 2003 – in cooperation with URISA GISCorps and financial support from USGS

Geographic Information Knowledge Network (GIKnet)
• Aim is to enhance communication and freely share knowledge among professionals in the global GI community.
• GIKNet Community Registry permits individuals, government agencies, NGOs, companies and other institutions to record and publish details about themselves and submit relevant documents to the Spatial Docs Depot.
• GIKNet information can be searched and accessed via a search facility in the Spatial Docs Depot.
• A comprehensive list of GI/SDI related discussion lists can be accessed from a single reference page.
