    Global experience

Te International Association o Oil & Gas Producers has access to a wealth o technicalknowledge and experience with its members operating around the world in many dierentterrains. We collate and distil this valuable knowledge or the industry to use as guidelinesor good practice by individual members.

Consistent high quality database and guidelines

Our overall aim is to ensure a consistent approach to training, management and best prac-tice throughout the world.

Te oil and gas exploration and production industry recognises the need to develop consist-ent databases and records in certain elds. Te OGPs members are encouraged to use theguidelines as a starting point or their operations or to supplement their own policies andregulations which may apply locally.

Internationally recognised source of industry information

Many o our guidelines have been recognised and used by international authorities andsaety and environmental bodies. Requests come rom governments and non-governmentorganisations around the world as well as rom non-member companies.

    Presentation o the list

Te vision o the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries standards eort in ISO ech-nical Committee 67 is global standards used locally worlwide. Tis vision is also refected by OGPReport 38:Position paper on the development and use o international standards. Te purpose o

the ollowing list is to show where we are in this vision at the time o issue o this OGP Report. Tereport will be revised rom time to time to show the urther steps o the standards development andadoption process.

    ISO title and ISO column

Te basis o this OGP report is the complete list o ISO C 67 published standards including jointstandards developed together with ISO C 6 SC, ISO C 5 SC3, ISO C 8 SC, ISO C53 SC & ISO C 9.

    ABNT Brazil column

In addition to the re-adopted documents, Brazil indicates some or which the basic text or adoption

    is under preparation.

    API USA column

In this column are indicated the API standards which have already been re-adopted rom the ISOstandards. Some state "ISO modied"; this indicates that there have been some technical changesrom the ISO document.

Also note that all national adoptions are, by denition, American National Standards (ANSI). APIindicated also in the list some ISO standards or which a National Adoption is under committeeconsideration.

Some o the indicated documents in the API column are issued by another SDO (NACE) and areadopted in CEN C.

    CEN Europe column

It is important to note that the EN standards are also published as national standards in all the 3European countries members o CEN within the 6-month o the publication as EN.

Te standards mentioned are technically identical to the corresponding ISO ones (these standardsare numbered EN ISO XXXXX); they were accepted in Europe either through the parallel vote

procedure or by Unique Acceptance Procedure within the Vienna Agreement between CEN andISO (ISO leader). All the documents are part o CEN C work programme except two whichdepend upon CEN C 69 and two upon ECISS C . Some o them (developed by ISO C 67SC) have a dierent number in ISO and in CEN because, i the technical content is identical, theirscope in Europe excludes the gas inrastructure industries; they nevertheless have in their title the

reerence to the ISO initial standards with the mention: (modied).

Note that in the EN document the main body o the standard is identical to the ISO one, with acover page added on the ISO standard.

DSTU Ukraine and GOST R Russia columns

Russia and Ukraine have added to the list o the re-adopted standards the plans or adoption oother ISO standards (in green).

    GB China column:

Te only matter to be raised is that the Chinese number o the ISO adopted standard is dierentrom the ISO one.

    GSO Gulf column

Tis column concerns an additional regional group o non-European countries that are adopting(identical or modied) ISO C67 standards. GSO is the Gul Standardization Organization or the

Cooperation Council or the Arab States o the Gul. GSO currently includes 7 countries: Bahrain,Kuwait , Oman , Qatar , Saudi Arabia , United Arab Emirates and Yemen (recently joined GSO).Once a standard is adopted by GSO, it is then automatically re-adopted by the member countries othe Gul Standards Organization, as is the case in CEN.
