Global Warming
Presentation by:PITHADIA SHRUTI
What is Global Warming?
The changes in the surface air temperature, referred to as global temperature, brought about by the enhanced green house effect, which is induced by emissions of green house gases in the air.
It should NOT be confused It should NOT be confused with climate changewith climate change
GLOBAL WARMING is the increase of the
Earth’s average surface temperature due to a build-up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
CLIMATE CHANGE is a broader term that
refers to long-term changes in climate, including average temperature and precipitation.

How Global Warming Works
Fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas)
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Greenhouse gases
Why Global Warming?
Some of the activities of man also produce greenhouse gases. The balance of the greenhouse gases changes and this has effects on the whole of the planet.
Effects of Global Warming Increased sea level Changes in water supply Rising temperature Damage to habitats
Warmer waters and more hurricanes
Increased probability and intensity of droughts and heat waves

What should be done to reduce our emissions?
Dress lightly when it’s hot instead Dress lightly when it’s hot instead of turning up the air of turning up the air conditioning.conditioning.
