Global Warming
Global Warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation.
Global warming causes
Carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel burning power plants
Carbon dioxide emissions from burning gasoline for transportation
Deforestation ,especially tropical forests for wood, pulp, and farmland
Increase in usage of chemical fertilizers on croplands

Effects of Global warming
Scientists worldwide due to the melting of two massive ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland, especially on theHowever, many nations around the world will experience the effects ofwhich could displace millions of people.
Effects of Global warming
Rise in sea levels worldwide
Hurricanes and other storms are likely to become stronger.
Effects of Global warming
•Some diseases will spread, such as malaria carried by mosquitoes.
Effects of Global warming
Effects of Global warming•Sea levels are expected to rise between 7 and 23 inches (18 and 59 centimeters) by the end of the century, and continued melting at the poles could add between 4 and 8 inches.•Species that depend on one another may become out of sync. For example, plants could bloom earlier than their pollinating insects become active.•Floods and droughts will become more common . Less fresh water will be available. If the Quelccaya ice cap in Peru continues to melt at its current rate, it will be gone by 2100, leaving thousands of people who rely on it for drinking water and electricity without a source of either.•Ecosystems will change—some species will move farther north or become more successful; others won’t be able to move and could become extinct. Wildlife research scientist Martyn Obbard has found that since the mid-1980s, with less ice on which to live and fish for food, polar bears have gotten considerably skinnier. Polar bear biologist Ian Stirling has found a similar pattern in Hudson Bay. He fears that if sea ice disappears, the polar bears will as well.
Reduce Energy Use
The energy you use at home and work contributes to increased levels of carbon dioxide; usually, fossil fuels are burned to produce and transport the energy, releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. By reducing your energy use, you can reduce your personal carbon footprint.

Stop DeforestationDeforestation is a major contributor to global warming. When large expanses of forest are cut or burned, carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, is released into the atmosphere. Because trees also take carbon dioxide from the air, cutting down large numbers of trees causes carbon dioxide levels to rise even further. Although much of the major deforestation is taking place in tropical areas, we can take action to help prevent further loss.
Preventive Measures for Global Warming
Change Transportation HabitsTransportation --- in particular, car travel --- is responsible for about 25 percent of energy use in the U.S., and also puts chemicals and pollutants into the air. To reduce our emissions, we have to change our driving habits. The easiest way to cut carbon emissions is to drive less: carpool to work, take public transportation, walk or ride a bike.
