Abbott GDS Story
• Our GDS is called GDSN Solution. It was designed and implemented
based on our understanding of GS1 Standards and where the global
market was heading.
• Abbott has created a centralized data hub for product data required
by our external trading partners; i.e. “customers”.
• Customers are hospitals, health clinics, health systems, group
purchasing organizations, etc. along with the U.S. FDA and
eventually other country regulatory bodies.
• Our strategy is simple. Implement a single enterprise solution
allowing for divisional flexibility that can meet or exceed the needs
of our global customers.
