* Comparisons are based on Cornell Pumps vs. competitors pumps assuming 2,000 hours per year operation and 15¢/Kw-hour. Results may vary based on application and energy costs.

Energy Efficient PumpsAs energy costs rise, conservation and efficiency of operationbecome critical issues for end users striving to minimize expensesassociated with energy consumption. Cornell pumps maintainsuperb hydraulic operating efficiencies and are coupled with energyefficient motors. The bottom line – Cornell pumps cost less tooperate. Cornell Pumps are designed to deliver best in classefficiency. Depending on operating hours, fuelant, andhorsepower required you can save up to $3,000per year (or more) in energy costs. Cornellmanufactures more than 60 clear liquidand non-clog pumps that meet or exceedoptimum efficiency standards forcentrifugal pumps.

Transfer Pump ApplicationsCornell’s refrigerant pumps are available for use in transferapplications. They are commonly employed in transfer pumpapplications utilizing anhydrous ammonia, aqueous ammonia, andhalocarbons such as R-22 and other approved refrigerants. Cornell’sengineers and technical sales personnel can provide you with expertapplication assistance.

Glycol Pump ApplicationsIn many refrigeration applications, secondary coolants such asethylene and propylene glycols and brines are used as heat transfermedia. The glycol or brine is cooled by the primary refrigerant andused to transfer heat without changing state. Cornell’s clear liquidshandling pumps are commonly used to recirculate these secondarycoolants. The clear liquid pumps are rugged, extremely efficient anddesigned specifically for a long life of service.

External Hydraulic Balance LineCornell’s external hydraulic balance line equalizes pressure between the impellerhub area and the pump suction to reduce axial loading acting on the impeller, shaft and bearings. The balance line also assists in moving sand and silt fromthe stuffing box to the low pressure area at the pump suction, reducing wear ofthe wetted parts.

Double VoluteCornell introduced the double volute as an industry first more than 30 years ago. The double volute system effectively balances forces within thepump to reduce radial load, shaft deflection and fatigue. This eliminates shaftbreakage and extends the service life of packing and mechanical seals, wearrings and bearings while maintaining high hydraulic efficiency.

Features & BenefitsCornell’s innovative technologies provide the end-user with containmentsystems capable of continuous and reliable operation. Our pumps have beensuccessfully used for compressor oil, liquid transfer systems, and booster pump applications.

Cornell’s clear liquid pumps are constructed entirely of iron or cast iron andfitted with bronze components. Many optional metalurgies are also available.Standard features include fully machined impellers, heavy duty shafts withreplaceable shaft sleeves, and peripheral wear rings. Our clear liquid pumps arefrequently used in cooling tower, chilled water, glycol, brine, condenser spraytree and many other HVAC applications.

At Cornell, we’ve built our worldwide reputation on quality and reliability. Our centrifugal pumps are engineered and manufactured to provide reliableand trouble-free operation. Many Cornell transfer pumps sold in the 60’s arestill providing the same continuous and dependable service they did the day they were installed. No one is more committed to making your ownership a truly rewarding experience than Cornell.
