We all live in the houses present in a city. Evenanimals also need a place to live in. Where do wildanimals live?

Human also needs furniture in his house. They aremade of wood. From where do we get this wood?

GO AROUND THE FOREST

Forest is a large area thickly covered with plants andtrees.

Forest is the home for many animals and birds.

Forest is the wealth of our country.

Forest provide us many things like food, fruits, flowers,honey, gum, rubber, fiber, fuel, wood, fodder, etc.

Forest provide many raw materials to the industries.

Forest prevents soil erosion and increases the fertilityof the soil.

Forest maintain ecological balance.

The different types of trees grown in the forest are: Teak wood Sandal wood Jamboo Baniyan Pongemia Neem Goosberry Bamboo Saal Silver oak Rose wood Jack Fruit & many others…

The reasons for deforestation are:

Large scale cutting of trees for differentpurposes like paper industry, plywoodindustry.

Over grazing by cattle.

Developments like irrigation, hydro-powerprojects, construction of dams.

Natural calamities like forest fire, floodsetc.

Wildlife means the study of native animalsand its behaviour in a forest.

Protection by law.

Establishment of Sanctuaries and National parks.

Natural habitat should be carefully protected.

Shooting & hunting should be totally banned.

Research on wildlife and it characteristics should be

encouraged.

Public should be educated and awareness should be

created for the wellness of forests.

Collect pictures of animals and trees. Name them.

Create models of Forest.

Name the National parks, Bird sanctuaries and Wildlife

sanctuaries in Karnataka state.

Collect information through internet, news paper regarding

forests. Make a collage work and display it.

Go for a Nature walk.

Visit a Zoo and a National park with your family to gain

knowledge about wildlife.
