Lannutti Group, an Italian transport and logistics company, has ordered 1,000 new Volvo FH trucks with the latest fuel saving technology, I-Save. Lannutti Group operates in eight European countries with a fleet of 1,800 trucks. Its decision to invest in 1,000 new Volvo FH trucks was made after a comprehensive year-long fuel test, where the new Volvo FH equipped with I-Save was compared with other trucks in a mixed fleet. The result was a staggering fuel reduction of 10 per cent compared to an equivalent standard truck. The company sees the potential to reduce its fuel consumption by 10 per cent as well as lower CO2 emissions. The I-Save version of the Volvo FH combines an extra fuel-efficient engine with fuel-saving features, which reduce fuel consumption in long-haul operations – without compromising drivability. The order of 1,000 Volvo FH with I- Save will be delivered to Lannutti during 2021 and 2022. They are also equipped with additional safety features, such as Lane Changing Support and Driver Alert Support, which help avoid accidents. Apart from reliability, the most important factors for us are to keep the weight of the truck as low as possible to allow for a high payload and keep the fuel consumption to a minimum. After the positive test period, we decided that all new Volvo trucks should be I-Save trucks. Next up was Karnataka, a state that gave a ‘red carpet’ welcome to the Go Extra truck and the team. For Editorial / Advertisements MARCH 17 ISSUE 70 The campaign in the state included on-ground events at two locations in Bangalore followed by one each at Hiriyur, Hubli and Belgaum, all of which saw massive response and turnout from the fleet operator, truck driver and mechanic fraternity. The President and Secretary of the respective truck / lorry owner associations graced the occasion and lauded the efforts of the unique campaign, reiterating the success and recognition of the initiative. As usual, representatives from the partner names – Title Partner Bridgestone India, Trucking Partner Ashok Leyland, Bearing Partner Delux Bearing, Suspension Partner Jamna Auto and Lighting Partner DH Lighting were present with full vigour across all locations to ensure the audience is fully engaged and appraised of their respective latest product offerings and innovative solutions that help reduce costs and result in better savings, while also improving performance, reliability and safety. Following Karnataka, the Go Extra campaign moves on to Gujarat, skipping Maharashtra for safety reasons keeping in mind the COVID concerns in the state. Lannutti Group, an Italian transport andlogistics company, has ordered 1,000 newVolvo FH trucks with the latest fuel savingtechnology, I-Save.
