TASKFORCEPeacehaven TaskForce has beenworking hard atHoward Park andwas joined by the3rd PeacehavenGuides, who helpedto clear weeds andrubbish.
The Guides thenmoved on to thebeach for a litterpick of the rubbisheither left behind orthat had washed onto the shore.
With the long daysof sunshine the parkis looking fantasticat the moment andis a credit to thehard work of theteam led by GaryJohnson.
Meanwhile at theCommunity Gardenat The Oval theplanting of trees andcrops has begunwith globeartichokes, chiggiobeetroot andscorzenera.

Dog agility displays in themain arena will be ahighlight of the fast-approaching Family FunDay.
The event at CentenaryPark on Saturday, July 15,from 11am to 4pm willhave activities suitable forall ages.
There will be a funfair, afood and drink festival,charity stalls, a mixture ofalternative stalls andarena events including getfit and singing.
There will be a £1 carpark at the Sports Park,accessed from PiddinghoeAvenue, where you will bedirected to a space.
CTLA will be providing acomplimentary shuttle busfrom the Co-Op at the
Meridian Centre to theSports Park.

My first month as Mayor has been busy.I was invited by the Royal British Legionto Horse Guards Parade in London forone of the previews of Trooping theColour. I felt privileged to be there.
My Brian’s Brunch to meet residents atthe Meridian Cafe was a great successand the “how many badges” competitionraised £65 for Sussex Pet Rescue.
l took along my teddy to join in the funat the Task Force’s Teddy Bears’ Picnicat The Oval.
One of my charities is the children’shospice Chestnut Tree House in Arundel,which my wife Sandra and I weredelighted to visit. It was truly inspirationalto see all the work done there.
My thanks to all who organised my civicservice at Peacehaven Evangelical FreeChurch. It was conducted by theReverend Tim Mills and Jeff Collingtonand was well attended. My thanks to ViCollington for the buffet afterwards.
I hope to see as many of you aspossible at our big event of the year, theFamily Fun Day at Centenary Park onSaturday, July 15.
As you can read above, there will beactivities for all ages. So please comealong to support your town and have agreat day.

Half of people on zero hourscontracts think they are not entitledto paid holiday, says CitizensAdvice, and two in five people ontemporary contracts wronglybelieve they are not entitled to paidholidays.
CA is calling on the Governmentto ensure workers are able to takethe paid holiday they are entitled toafter finding some employers aremisleading employees about thisentitlement — sometimes due tobosses’ ignorance but alsobecause some deliberately flout thelaw by exploiting workers’confusion. In the last financial year185,000 people got help onemployment issues.
CA wants the Government to:
● Combine the enforcement ofemployment rights into a powerfulFair Work Authority that cantackle employers that break therules.● Place a £50 cap on employment
tribunal fees so people who aretreated unfairly by their employerare not denied access to justice.● Define self-employment in law to

The new chairmanMark Derrick, managing director ofJarlands, Peacehaven, is the newchairman of Peacehaven & DistrictChamber of Commerce.
He was previously vice-chairmanand succeeds Phil Merry, whostepped down after ten years’service to the chamber.
Mark, 43, set up his Peacehavenbusiness in 2006. For the pastseven years he has been on thechamber committee. Before settingup Jarlands Estates, Mark hadsenior financial planning roles withthe Woolwich, Barclays Bank, HSBCand Devere & Partners.
He said: “I’m delighted to have beenelected chairman. It is a great honourto represent businesses.
“My vision is that the chambershould be the go-to place forour community, as it will besupporting trusted traderswithin their own community.
