Lesson 4

The Holy Spirit Promise

Every Believer’sGift

“…ye shall know… that I

am…your God… I will pour out my

spirit upon all flesh…” Joel

2:27-28

God’s plan for spiritual intimacy … the indwelling of His Holy Spirit

God created the soul to be filled with His Spirit.

Sin contaminated the vessel. Christ’s death provided a

plan to remove the stain of sin.

Repentance and water baptism prepares the heart for the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spiritis promised to

everyone. Old Testament saints anxiously waited for it. “…I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh…” Joel 2:27-28

John, the Baptist, announced its arrival. “…he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost…” Matthew 3:11

The Holy Spiritis promised to

everyone. Jesus, Himself, promised His Spirit to all believers. “… If any man thirst, let him

come unto me and drink. He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that beliveve on him should receive…” John 14:16-18

“And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve.” Acts 19:6-7

When it happened, no one was

excluded! Peter said, “… God is no respecter of persons.” Acts 10:34

What was the common sign that believers had

received the Holy Ghost? They spoke in a language or a

tongue unknown to them. Believers were convinced

Cornelius’ house had received it. “… for they heard them speak with tongues…” Acts 10:44-46

What was the common sign that believers had

received the Holy Ghost? “ And they were all filled

with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:4

What was the common sign that believers had

received the Holy Ghost? “…the Holy Ghost

came on them; and they spake with tongues, …”

Acts 19:6

What was the Spirit saying through

believers? “…we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.” Acts 2:11

Hebrews 11:6

Prepare the house and He will fill it!

The Holy Spirit is every

believer’s promise.

The Acorn is Transformed. After the acorn’s

death in the soil, a new life emerges from the broken shell.

It’s penetrating root gives it the power to immerge from the soil.

The Acorn is Transformed.

It is reborn… changed from an acorn to a miniature oak.

The Holy Spirit Baptism… is a supernatural birth.

The believer receives divine strength and power to live a changed life.
