* Gathering Hymn * Sing With All The Saints In Glory

HYMN TO JOY

Text: 1 Corinthians 15:20; William J. Irons, 1812–1883, alt.; tr. by Alberto Merubia, b.1919, © 2010, GIA Publications, Inc. Tune: HYMN TO JOY, 8 7 8 7 D; arr. from Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770–1827, by Edward Hodges, 1796–1867

* Glory To God *

Text: ICEL, © 2010; Music: Mass for the People of God, James J. Chepponis, © 2011, GIA Publications, Inc. All rights reserved. Reprinted under ONE LICENSE #A-727738.

1. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. 2. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand, the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us, have mercy on us. 3. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Amen.

The Liturgy of The Word

* 1st Reading * Acts 10: 25-26, 34-35, 44-48

When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and, falling at his feet, paid him homage. Peter, however, raised him up, saying, "Get up. I myself am also a human being." Then Peter proceeded to speak and said, "In truth, I see that God shows no partiality. Rather, in every nation whoever fears him and acts uprightly is acceptable to him."

While Peter was still speaking these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the word. The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, for they could hear them speaking in tongues and glorifying God. Then Peter responded, "Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit even as we have?" He ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

The word of the Lord. THANKS BE TO GOD.

* Response * Psalm 98: 1, 2-3, 3-4

Michel Guimont

1. O sing a new song to the LORD, for he has worked wonders. His right hand and his holy arm have brought salvation.

2. The LORD has made known his salvation, has shown his deliverance to the nations. He has remembered his merciful love and his truth for the house of Israel.

3. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Shout to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song, and sing out your praise.

* 2nd Reading * 1 John 4: 7-10

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.

The word of the Lord. THANKS BE TO GOD.

* Gospel Acclamation and Verse *

* Verse: * “Whoever loves me will keep my word,” says the Lord; “and my Father will love him and we will come to him.”

(John 14:23)

* Gospel * John 15: 9-17

Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.

"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another."

The Gospel of the Lord. PRAISE TO YOU, LORD JESUS CHRIST.

James Chepponis

1. Draw near and take the Body of the Lord, and drink with faith the Blood for you outpoured. Saved by His Body, hallowed by His Blood, with souls refreshed we give our thanks to God.

2. Our great Redeemer, God’s eternal Son, has by His cross and blood the vict’ry won. He spent His life for greatest and for least. Praise Christ the Paschal Victim, Christ the Priest.

3. Let us approach with faithful hearts sincere and claim the promise of salvation here. Christ rules our hearts, and all His saints defends; He gives believers life that never ends.

4. With heav’nly bread Christ makes the hungry whole; His living water fills the thirsting soul. Before Your presence, Lord, all people bow. In this Your feast of love be with us now.

Parish School of Religion We are coming near the end of our PSR year! Our final classes will be on MONDAY, MAY 7th for ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-10. We will gather for 6:30 pm

Mass and then celebrate with an end of the year party in the Castillian Rose Room! Registration materials are available for next year’s classes for grades 1-10! Children’s Liturgy of the Word Every Sunday at 10:30 am Mass, for children age 3- 2nd grade Family Connection In family life, we have many opportunities to show love in action. Each time we stop what we are doing to tend to the needs of another, we show ourselves to be on the path to following the example of love shown to us by Jesus. Sometimes the sacrifices we are called upon to make for others are small. But these small choices to love and to serve others prepare us for the larger choices and sacrifices that we may be called upon to make. If we are people who have practiced showing our love for others with generosity, we will also be people who are willing to lay down our lives for those we love. As you gather as a family, talk about the meaning of the word generosity. Ask each family member to describe an action that shows generosity. To be generous is to give freely to others without counting the cost. Recall that generosity is one of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. Conclude by praying Saint Ignatius of Loyola’s Prayer for Generosity. Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous; teach me to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to seek reward, except that of knowing that I do your will. Amen
