Lenten Mission Preaching Series “Expanding the Narrative:
lessons from the life of Jesus”
Conducted by
Fr. Glenn Snow, O.Carm.
Fr. Glenn has worked extensively in education. He has experience in parish ministry and holds a Masters degree in Theology. Fr. Glenn has developed and directed retreats and workshops for high school students, faculties and parish staffs; for adult and young adult groups as well as parent groups. He developed and directed a marriage preparation workshop and served as a chaplain in an adult alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility. He currently focuses on the field of conflict management and holds a Masters degree in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution.
Weekend 1 March 10th/11th
“Expanding the narrative front-to-back” The Beatitudes
Poor, hungry, and weeping are not the end of the story "
Weekend 2 March 17th/18th
“Expanding the narrative top-to-bottom” Washing the disciples’ feet
The surface conversation, the feelings conversation, the identity conversation
"
Weekend 3 March 24th/25th
“Expanding the narrative side-to-side” The woman at the well
Seeing the social and structural influences on people’s life stories
“God is love.
His is not a sentimental, emotional kind of love but the love of the Father who is the origin of all life, the love of the Son who dies on the Cross and is raised, the love of the Spirit who renews human beings and the world. Thinking that God is love does us so much good, because it teaches us to love, to give ourselves to others as Jesus gave himself to us and walks with us. Jesus walks beside us on the road through life.”

TODAY’S GOSPEL MESSAGE Sunday, March 11th
John 3:14-21
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”
“After this Gospel passage was read three years ago…Pope Francis called it the summary of the whole gospel: that God’s love for us has no bounds. After all, we were created in God’s own image. God repeatedly rescued humanity from the consequences of sin and evil. Through God’s Son, we freely have been given the ultimate gift of salvation. We can be a hopeful people, for throughout all of human history, God’s boundless love has saved us.” Source: Pastoral Patterns (Spring 2018)

In the words of Pope Francis…
Do You Want To Fast This Lent?
Fast from hurting words and say kind words.
Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude.
Fast from anger and be filled with patience.
Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope.
Fast from worries and have trust in God.
Fast from complaints and contemplate simplicity.
Fast from pressures and be prayerful.
Fast from bitterness and fill your hearts with joy.
Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others.
Fast from grudges and be reconciled.
Fast from words and be silent so you can listen.
