*hronicles )" relates how /eEekiahrenewed the 0asso4er. The sraelites had not beeneatin+ the 0asso4er, and when it was renewed, thekin+ prayed for the sick ; nd the !ord har-ened to

Healing fo$ the Le&e$

The lamb brou+ht sal4ation to the sraelitesfrom their :+yptian oppressors, and the lamb also

Healing in the ilde$ness

God wants /is people well, but it is up to us tomake the decision to walk in health. One thin+ that

works against +ood health is murmurin+. umbers-2 records how the sraelites murmured a+ainst

oses and a+ainst 6aron. Herse (% says that-(,'"" people died in the pla+ue that followed themurmurin+. The Bible says that a lot more were+oin+ to die, but 6aron made intercession as a

priest, and stopped the pla+ue. esus is our +reat

/i+h 0riest, and /e has come down to the peopleto stop the pla+ue of sin and sickness. /e does notwant us to be sick. /e wants us to be healed. /ewants to impro4e our condition.

There was another time that the sraelitesmurmured. umbers &- tells of how ;... the /eo/le

s/a-e against God, and against 7oses%%%%" Iieryserpents came a+ainst the people and be+an to bitethem. The people became sick and were dyin+.The 7ord +a4e oses a remedy? "7a-e a rass

f people are not bein+ healed in your church,maybe it is because esus is not lifted up as /ealer.

Healing in the Ne) TestamentHery early in /is ministry, esus stood up in the

own land. t was a beautiful time when e4eryonecelebrated.

=hen esus stood up and said, ;This is theacceptable year of the 7ord,; /e was sayin+, ;Thisis ubilee! Jou can claim back all your possessions

that 6dam lost to Satan.; The brokenhearted could be healed, the capti4es could be set free, the blindcould recei4e their si+ht, people who were bruisedemotionally could be set free. esus was standin+up, and, in a sense, blowin+ a trumpet and sayin+,;This is ubilee! On the cross, esus paid the price for ourtrans+ressions. t was on the same cross and by thesame sufferin+ that esus paid the price for ourhealin+. =e ha4e e4ery le+al ri+ht to for+i4eness ofsins because esus bore our sins for us. =e ha4e the

same le+al ri+ht to healin+ because esus bore oursickness and carried our diseases.

n the ew Testament, many people were sick because they did not discern the Body of *hrist C*orinthians --?)"D. 0aul, under di4ine inspiration,

said that they were sick and weak because theywere not properly discernin+ the Body of the 7ord

esus, and, as a result, many of them died early.

t is in the Body of esus *hrist that we findstren+th and healin+. t is God<s will that we, as

part of the Body of *hrist, en9oy the life and healththat is in that Body. Jou e1pect for+i4eness in thatBody, and if you<ll discern that there is also healin+in that Body, you can ha4e it. 0roperly discern the7ord<s Body when you take communion, and you<llen9oy life and health.

-ethods of Healing

The Bible records a number of differentmethods used to brin+ about healin+. =e use thesame methods today. Sometimes we lay hands onthe sick and there is an instant miracle. Other timeswe lay hands on the sick and they don<t appearhealed@it doesn<t seem that they ha4e recei4ed an

immediate miracle. Sometimes we ha4e people layhands on us and we +et better a little at a time.

Kemember the little boy in the +ospels who" egan to get ell" C ohn (?5&D when esus spokethe =ord> The mendin+ seemed to take a period of

time. 3on<t be discoura+ed if you don<t see or feelsomethin+ instantly. The Bible says that belie4ers;... shall la# hands on the si -, and the# shallre over%; Sometimes it seems that you must standon the Scriptures until you almost think it is takin+an eternity to reco4er!

had +one to many doctors, fertility e1perts,and they all said that could ne4er ha4e a baby.

But my husband and ne4er a+reed with thosewords. =e belie4ed that God wanted us to ha4e a

=hen we first started in the ministry, we were

in 3allas, Te1as, where a man named =illiamBranham was ministerin+. One ni+ht stood on the platform before him, and he looked at me and said,;Jou<re not from here. Jou are from a woodedarea. Jou are from 3en4er, *olorado, and youha4e a female condition.; 6ll the time he wasspeakin+ had the most unusual sensation. sawsomethin+ in my spirit Cnot with my physicaleyesD, and felt somethin+ that went round andround. t was whirlin+. t was almost like couldhear the sound of it. 6s it became stron+er and

stron+er, thou+ht, ; f step into that, will die.;t was a fearful thin+ to me.

The e4an+elist said, ;Go home and recei4eyour baby,; and that whirlin+ C belie4e it was the

presence of GodD went into my feet and came up

said, ; arilyn, God is +oin+ to +i4e us a child.;=hen be+an my thirties, thou+ht, ;Ior+et it,God. 3on<t listen to my husband. 7isten to me.;But =ally stood in faith, and when was thirty#si1, went to a doctor because was ha4in+ someunusual thin+s happenin+ in my body.

;Jou<re not pre+nant,; he told me. ;Jou<re 9ust+oin+ throu+h <the chan+e.< 3on<t e4en tell yourhusband that you think you<re pre+nant.;

waited a few more months C would ha4e been about four#and#a#half months alon+ by thenD,and was ha4in+ some more chan+es. thou+ht,;Somebody<s wron+!; 6fter a check with anotherdoctor, was told, ;7ady, what you are feelin+ islife. Jou are pre+nant.; 6t last Sarah, our miracle

baby, was born.

=hat am sayin+ to you in all of this> =henyou don<t see it, do you quit belie4in+> =hen youdon<t feel it, do you lea4e it alone> o! But yousay, ;Ten years!; =ell, 6braham waited twentyyears, and look what he +ot@an saac. There aretimes when it seems that you wait and wait andwait. C didn<t wait, but my husband did!D 3on<t

cash in on your faith!

6nother time had a back ailment. :4ery time picked up somethin+ hea4y would be in terrible

a+ony. Iinally went to a doctor and he took M#rays of my back and told me, ;Jou ha4e thestran+est spinal formation ha4e e4er seen. 6s you+et older, it will +et worse. Jou can<t pick upanythin+ hea4y because you won<t be able to walkif you do.;

Once a+ain didn<t recei4e the report. 6fter went home and told my husband, he a+reed withme in prayer that was healed. stood on ark--?&(, and you know what> +ot worse! +otworse almost e4ery day. had to +et out of bed at

ni+ht and sleep on the floor because of the pain.Sarah was 9ust a baby then, and <d pick her

up, and she<d be hea4y which would make my backworse. :4ery day <d say, ;6ccordin+ to ark--?&( belie4e ha4e recei4ed,; didn<t say the

symptoms weren<t there, and didn<t say there wasno pain. 9ust said, ; belie4e ha4e recei4ed,; 6tthe end of si1 months, without anythin+ dramatichappenin+ Cno cloud or warm +low or anythin+D

9ust stood up one mornin+, and was all ri+ht. stood on that Scripture for a lon+ time, and God

brou+ht it to passA howe4er, there ha4e been other

times when <4e had prayer and instantly beenhealed.

=hen my husband and started our church, had a tiny +rowth on my fin+er, and it was theu+liest thin+! went to church one day and showedit to one of the ladies in the church.

;Oh dear,; she said. ; had a friend who had

some of those come on her fin+ers, and it wascancer, and she died.;

Thanks a lot! That was a +reat help to myfaith! But in a ser4ice one ni+ht said, ;God, <mnot +oin+ to ha4e that any more.; t be+an to turn

dark on my fin+er durin+ the ser4ice, and when +ot home, it fell off. =hether it is an instantmiracle or a reco4ery, God still wants to heal!

Health and Old Age

Some people will look for any e1cuse to besick! They will say, ;=ell, you know, your body 9ust wears out when you +et older, and you<re bound to be sick.; Keally> 7et<s read what theBible says?

There<s another fa4orite e1cuse people like touse to 9ustify stayin+ sick@0aul<s thorn in theflesh. want to discuss 0aul<s thorn, but most of all

want to tell you, ;3on<t look for e1cuses!; =henyou are belie4in+ for healin+, and people come toyou with ne+ati4e reports, don<t recei4e them into

your spirit. don<t think you ha4e to slap the person down and say, ;Shut up! don<t want tohear you.; But think you can say in your ownspirit, ; 9ust don<t recei4e this. This isn<t mine. <mnot +oin+ to take this into my spirit. <m standin+on the =ord, and belie4e that ha4e recei4ed.;

=hen you be+in to walk in faith in the area ofhealin+, the de4il will test you and test you.Sometimes people will brin+ certain Scriptures toyou, and they<ll say, ;See, it isn<t always God<s willto heal!; One thin+ they will always brin+ up is0aul<s thorn in the flesh. <m +oin+ to e1pose thede4il ri+ht now so that he can<t use 0aul<s thorn tocreate doubt in your mind and cause you to not

0aul describes what the thorn was doin+. ; twas the messen+er of Satan to buffet me.; Buffetmeans ;to hit.; 6nd messen+er here means ;anan+el of Satan.; 6 fallen an+el was comin+ alon+and beatin+ on him.

6nanias prophesied when he met 0aul. /esaid, "Pa$l, #o$'re going to s$ffer man# things forthe name of Jes$s% Co$'re going to e /erse $ted%"6nd sure enou+h, e4ery place that 0aul went hewas persecuted. They physically hit him, theystoned him, they beat him. =ho was incitin+ allthose thin+s> Satan. 0aul saw behind the peopleand knew that Satan was behind the persecutions.

The Bible does say that 0aul was sick at the be+innin+ of his ministry CGalatians (?-)D, but theBible also says that at the end of his life he said," % % % . la ored more than all of them%%%%"That doesn<tsound like a 4ery sick man, does it> t sounds likehe was healed and went on to labor for the 7ord.

Some say that 0aul had an eye disease and thathe had runnin+ pus comin+ from his eyes. But the
