GOD'S KINGDOM PLAN Revealed in the Scriptures

    by CONRAD GAARD

    FOREWORD

he "Old Order" is gone; and the old social standards, economic

actices, governmental set-ups and religious systems, which have

dured for so many centuries, are breaking down before our very

    es.

he issue confronting the world today is not one of saving the "Old

rder," but rather of determining what the "New Order" shall be.

orld leaders everywhere are zealously striving to make the world

ver, and all of them are either totally ignorant of, or else completelynore, the only program which can save mankind from a return to the

Dark Ages," namely, "THE ORDER OF THE LORD."

he complete plans and specifications for this "New Order" are found

the Holy Scriptures; and with world leaders and statesmen

nkrupt of ideas, except a return to the old Assyrian system of

ctatorship and regimentation, it is high time that we turn to the "sure

ord of prophecy" for light and guidance.

the Sacred Record, the prophets have left a pre-written history of

e tragic failure of man's attempt to establish peace and securitynder the jungle law of "Self-preservation as the first law of nature,"

d every detail of their prophecies has been fulfilled to the present

me. In fact, more than 90% of these prophecies have been literally

lfilled and it is only reasonable to expect that the remaining 10% will

    equally dependable.

e have now come to the "end of the age," when the "kingdoms of

is world" are to be weighed in the balance, and since all of them,

ithout exception, have failed to bring peace and security to the earth,

ey will all be "found wanting" and be rejected.their place will be established the new "Order of the Lord," in which

ery man "shall sit under his own wine and fig tree, none making him

raid," and in which peace, security, justice and freedom shall be the

    alienable heritage of every man.

the hope that many may be led to "search the Scriptures" to learn

the Lord's Plan of the Ages, which is the only hope for a sin-sick,

ar-torn world, we are devoting this entire number of the Interpreter

a brief summary of "The Story the Bible Tells".

    -The Story of the Creation-

the first two chapters of the Book of Genesis, we

ve a complete yet concise story of the creation of

e heavens and the earth. Although there has been much

gument about the accuracy and authenticity of thiscord, the fact remains that all that man really knows

out creation is included in these two chapters, and

at the arguments revolve around man's opinion of and

planations for the things there recorded.

is not our purpose to enter into this phase of the

uestion, however. All men are agreed that the

niverse exists, and we shall begin our study by

cepting the creation as we find it.

    -Law: Underlying Fact in Creation-

he basic factor underlying creation, as we know it, is

    w. Each unit in the Universe, from the smallest

ectron to the largest celestial body, is subject to

d controlled by law. In fact, there is order and

ability in the creation only because eternal and

nchanging law operates in every realm.is because of the immutability of natural laws that

e mystic and the poet can hear and sing about the

    Music of the Spheres".

    -Man's Divine Prerogative-

an is an integral part of creation and he is,

erefore, subject to law, but there is a fundamentalfference between his relationship to law and that of

l the rest of the visible creation.

ach unit of the inanimate creation must blindly obey

e laws which control it, and the brute or animal

eation, although individualized, is controlled by

stinct, which is in reality only the medium through

hich the law works. Man, however, is endowed with the

culty of free-will and he can, therefore, objectively

editate upon and choose his own course of action.

is obvious that man does not have absolute freewill.

e cannot create a universe no matter how much

might desire to do so, nor can he seriously

terfere with the functions and operation of the

    isting creation.

ut while man is limited and circumscribed as to his

otentiality, he is, nevertheless, within the sphere ofs limited potentiality, free to choose his own course

action and can therefore decide for himself whether

not he will obey the law of his being.

is in this prerogative of free-will, limited though

may be, that man is most nearly akin to Deity. It

in this respect that man was created in the image of

od, and in this respect he differs radically from all

e rest of the visible creation.

    -The Celestial Creation-

he Scriptures definitely tell of several orders of

gelic and celestial beings who live and function in a

alm or plane not discernable to the limited

rceptive faculties of men. Many people, therefore,

oubt the existence of such orders of creation and some

en categorically deny their reality.he fact, however, that man, with his limited powers

    perception, cannot objectively and directly

rceive or know of their presence, is not proof that

    ey do not exist.

ll the facts, as we know them, and even common sense

elf, make it improbable that the creation of

ntient beings stops with man, and it is not only

ossible, but also very probable that many celestial

ders exist and function as a part of creation.ucifer's Rebellion

the 14th chapter of Isaiah and in Ezekiel 28:14-15,

e are told how Lucifer, the "Day Star," and one of the

ost exalted members of the heavenly hierarchies,

belled against the authority of the Lord and set out

make himself master of the earthly creation.

eing, undoubtedly, endowed with the divine prerogative

freewill, within the limits of his own

otentiality, it would be possible for him to do this.

unctioning on the celestial planes, his influence and

ower are much greater than man's, but he is still only

finite creature and is in no sense equal in power or

    ajesty with the Lord.

Job 1:6, we read that Satan presented himself with

e other sons of God, and the word Satan means "The

dversary" or "The Contrary One." When Luciferbelled against the Lord, he became Satan.

-The First Step in Lucifer's Program-

efore he could hope to succeed in his avowed purpose,

would be necessary for Satan to control or dominate

dam and Eve, the apex of the visible creation, and

hen, through "the Serpent, who was more subtle thany beast of the field," he beguiled them into substituting

eir own "knowledge of good and evil"

r the "command" of the Lord, the first skirmish was

    on.

    -The Lord's Promise of Restitution-

hen Adam and Eve "fell" into sin or separation frome Lord, becoming subject to death, and under the

omination of Satan, the Lord made His first great

venant of restitution, declaring, "I will put enmity

tween thee (The Serpent) and the Woman, and between

y seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and

    ou shalt bruise His heel."

e cannot, because of limitations of space, go into

tails in considering the symbolism of this covenant.

he serpent was Satan's agent, and we find the serpentmbolism used throughout the Scriptures. The "Woman"

    also used symbolically to the end of Revelation;

d as we proceed with our study, its meaning will

    come clear.

he "seed of the Serpent" represents that branch of

ankind descended from Cain, who was spiritually at

ast the son of the Serpent.

he "enmity" declared in this covenant is the central

eme of the whole story of the Bible.

-Chaos and Anarchy Follow the Fall-

aving no higher criterion than man's finite "knowledge

good and evil" by which to judge life and action,

ch individual naturally became a law unto himself,d his own self-interest the greatest good. Thus the

ngle law of "self-preservation" became the first law

    nature.

ccording to Gen. 6, conditions finally became so bad

    at the flood became inevitable.

-Satan Establishes His Kingdom of the World-

ealizing then some system of regulation and control

ver men would be necessary to prevent a recurrence of

e conditions which produced the flood, Satan set up a

mplete World Order with provisions for all phases of

    cial, economic, governmental and religious

    lationships on the earth.

o head his System on the earth, Satan selected Nimrod,

e grandson of Ham, one of Noah's three sons.

acred and secular records agree that Nimrod, or Nirus,he is often called, founded the first Babylonian

mpire, and many authorities believe he also founded

e Assyrian empire with its capital at Nineveh.

he "Targum of Jonathan" (the Chaldee version of the

ld Testament), the "Jerusalem Targum," and Josephus,

his "Antiquities of the Jews," all declare that

imrod's Kingdoms were set up in opposition to the

    ogram of the Lord.

om this beginning have come all the "Kingdoms ofis World" based on man-made laws enforced by the

    med might of man.

ack of the whole set-up of course, is Satan, who has

the past and who now is, seeking to establish his

ominion on the earth through these "Kingdoms of the

    orld".

-The Lord Begins Revealing His Kingdom Plan-

o Abram, whose name was later changed to Abraham, the

ord begins revealing the first steps in His program to

-establish His Kingdom on the earth. The

nconditional promises and covenants made to Abraham

d recorded in chapters 12 to 22 in the Book of

enesis, are so important that every student shouldmpletely familiarize himself with them. In Gal. 3:29,

aul says, "If ye be Christ's then are ye Abraham's

ed, and heirs according to the promise". Surely if in

hrist we become heirs to the promises made to Abraham,

is vitally important to know what these promises are.

pace will not allow us to make a detailed examination

these covenants in this article, but the essential

atures can be summarized as follows: (1) Abraham is

have a multitudinous seed; (2) which is to become "aeat and mighty nation" and "a multitude of nations;"

d (3) to whom the Lord gives a title deed forever to

e land from the "river of Egypt to the Euphrates,"

cluding the land of Canaan. The Lord further declares

at He will "establish His covenant with Abraham and

    ith his seed after him".

Gen. 18:17-19, the Lord says, "Shall I hide from

braham that thing which I do; seeing that Abraham

all surely become a great and mighty nation, and alle families of the earth shall be blessed in him? For

know him, that he will command his children and his

ousehold after him, and they shall keep the way of

e Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may

ing upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him."

chapters 17 to 35 we are told how the covenants and

omises made to Abraham are confirmed to Isaac and

    cob and their seed.

-The Children of Israel Called as a Family-

p to the time of Jacob, the Lord has been preserving

e "seed of the woman" and confirming His covenant

ith one individual from each generation of the "seed"

ne. To Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, whose name was

anged to Israel, the Lord, in addition to confirming

is covenant, begins revealing His Plan to use their

ed as the nucleus for the citizenry of His Kingdom on

    e earth.

herefore the Lord calls the whole family of Jacob

rael, setting it apart as His Chosen People, and He

sses on the inheritance to, and confirms His covenant

ith, them and their children collectively as a race.

he importance of this call to the children of Israelindicated in Psalm 105:6-11, "0 ye seed of Abraham,

children of Jacob His chosen. He is the Lord our

od, His judgments are in all the earth. He hath

membered His covenant for ever, the word which He

mmanded to a thousand generations. Which covenant He

ade with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac; and

nfirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel

r an everlasting covenant: Saying, Unto thee will I

ve the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance".should be noted that these covenants are absolutely

nconditional and are not to be confused with the

utually binding agreement made with the children of

    rael at Sinai.

-The Children of Israel Formed into a Nation-

fter bringing the children of Israel out of the landEgypt, the Lord brings them to Mount Sinai, and

ere one of the most momentous events in all history

om a national standpoint takes place.

hrough Moses, the Lord outlines the fundamental laws

His Kingdom, and He then offers to make the

ildren of Israel His Kingdom on the earth at once

f" they will "obey His voice" and "keep His covenant."

he children of Israel by popular referendum

nanimously vote to accept the offer, saying, "Allat the Lord hath said we will do." Moses then

eturned the words (or vote) of the people to the

ord," and the agreement was ratified.

everal important features of this compact should be

refully noticed. Salvation is neither offered nor

manded nor are "repentance" and "new birth" required

r admission to citizenship. Every child born in

rael becomes a citizen of the kingdom, and even strangers

n be naturalized under its laws.

n the other hand, absolute obedience is demanded; and

return for such obedience, specific blessings are

omised; and for disobedience, a curse is pronounced.

he essence of responsibility and opportunity under

is covenant is summarized in Deut. 5:31-33: "But as

r thee (Moses), stand thou here by Me, and I will

eak unto, thee all the commandments, and theatutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach

em, that they may do them in the land which I give

em to possess it. Ye shall observe to do therefore as

e Lord your God hath commanded you: Ye shall not turn

ide to the right hand or to the left. Ye shall walk

all ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you,

at ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and

at ye may prolong your days in the land which ye

    all possess".

-The Law Covenant and the Covenant of Promise-

o many sincere Bible students have been confused by

hat seems to them a conflict between the Law and the

ospel of Salvation and Justification through faith,

oth of which are given a prominent place in the Lord's

evelation. We shall consider these questions morelly in future articles, but we would at this time

iefly show the essential difference between the

ovenant of Promise made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,

hich they accepted by faith, and the Law Covenant made

Sinai, under which the blessing could only be

    alized through works.

he Law Covenant is typified by Hagar, the bond woman,

d her son Ishmael could inherit only under his

tural right as a son of Abraham; the Covenant ofomise is typified by Sarah, the free woman, and her

n Isaac inherited under the Promise of the Lord, "In

aac shall thy seed be called," and not through his

    ght as a son.

hen the Lord "promised to bless Abraham and his seed"

d to use that seed for the accomplishment of His

urpose, Abraham believed THAT promise and acted

cordingly. The Lord did not reveal to Abraham how

is promise would be fulfilled nor did He explain

rgiveness, atonement, regeneration, etc., all of

hich are essential to the fulfillment of the Lord's

omise. Abraham simply believed that the Lord could,

d would, do all that was necessary to make good His

omise, and he did his part by blindly obeying the

    structions of the Lord.

nder the terms of the Law covenant, the Lord did notk the children of Israel to "believe" Him; He simply

ked them to "obey His voice." In the Sinai covenant,

ere is no place for salvation, redemption,

pentance, new birth, etc. The children of Israel

ere offered the blessing in return for obedience to

e Law while they were still in Adam. Had they been

le to "obey His Voice" and "keep His covenant," a

aviour would have been unnecessary for them.

om the words of Moses and the other prophets, it isear that the Lord knew, even before the covenant was

tered into at Sinai, that the children of Israel

ould fail to keep the covenant, and many students have

en puzzled as to why He made the agreement, knowing

at the Israelites would not, and in fact could not,

    ep it.

he reason becomes evident, however, if we remember

at the children were "chosen" as His people under

e covenant of promise made to their fathers longfore the Sinai agreement was entered into. Therefore

eir real inheritance is in the covenant of promise,

hich is dependent solely on the Lord's will and power

    do what He has promised.

om the beginning, it was the Lord's purpose to "save"

ankind from the consequences resulting from the

all," through Jesus Christ, "the Lamb slain from the

undation of the world;" but before man would "accept

is free gift," it was necessary to prove to him thate needed a Saviour.

efore the children of Israel could become God's

ingdom Nation, through whom all the nations of the

rth should be blessed, it was necessary that they

come new creatures who would willingly obey His Law,

    sons and "free men."

herefore the Lord gave them the opportunity to "try"

be His Kingdom Nation by "willing" in their own

    le:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/Iceman/My%20Documents/Gods%20Covenent%20People.txt (9 of 49)1/10/2007 9:47:54 AM

rength to obey His voice. The Law, however, has no

ower to create the "faith" necessary to will to obey:

can only punish for disobedience, and its blessing

mes "only" through obedience. Obedience, therefore,

comes "bondage" and slavery as long as the "heart and

ind" are separated from the Lord. The new creature in

hrist, however, freely and willingly "obeys" the will

the Lord through love, rather than through theondage of fear of punishment.

aul therefore sums up the whole reason for the giving

the Law covenant, in Gal. 3:24, when he says, "The

w was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that

e might be justified by faith." In other words, the

w was given to the children of Israel to bring them

Christ, in whom the Lord called them as His servant

ople under the covenant of promise to Abraham. (See

al. 17).he failure of the children of Israel, therefore, to

ep the Sinai covenant could not, and did not, affect

eir inheritance under the covenant of Promise,

nconditionally given to them as an "everlasting

    venant."

should be remembered also that the covenant of

omise to the children of Israel was not primarily a

venant of salvation nor even of justification by

ith, but the promise of an inheritance as the Lord'singdom on the earth. This inheritance can be

propriated only through faith in the Lord's promise

make full restitution and the reality of the

lfillment of that promise in Jesus Christ. Paul again

ves the epitome of the whole matter in Gal. 3:29: "If

be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs

    cording to the promise."

    -The Kingdom of Israel-

-Was God's Kingdom on the Earth-

    kingdom consists of: (1) a King; (2) a People; (3) a

ody of Law; and (4) a geographical location.

the Kingdom of Israel, the Lord was King. (See

eut. 33:5; I Sam. 8:7). And in Ex. 17:16, according

the marginal rendering for that verse, we are told

    le:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/Iceman/My%20Documents/Gods%20Covenent%20People.txt (10 of 49)1/10/2007 9:47:54 AM

at the Lord had a throne in Israel.

he children of Israel were called to be the citizens

the Kingdom. In II Sam. 7:23-24, the prophet Nathan

id, "What one nation in the earth is like thy people,

en like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people

Himself, and to make Him a name--For Thou hast

nfirmed to Thyself thy people Israel to be a people

nto Thee for ever.he Commandments, Statutes, and Judgments of the Lord

ere given to Israel as a national constitution and

    ody of Law.

nd to the children of Israel was given a title deed

rever to be the territory between the River of Egypt

d the River Euphrates. An even broader land grant is

und in Deut. 32:8, "When the most High divided to the

tions their inheritance, when He separated the sons

Adam, He met the bounds of the people according toe number of the children of Israel."

he Kingdom of Israel, therefore, meets all the

quirement of a kingdom, and since the Lord is

awgiver, Judge and King, it is certainly His Kingdom.

-The Law as Given to Israel-

he Law of the Lord as codified, in terms of everydayuman relationships between men, in the Commandments,

atutes and Judgments was the same Law which always

as, and always will be, the Law of the Kingdom of God

n the earth. It is perfect in every respect.

sus Christ summed up the Law of the Lord thus, "Thou

alt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and

ith all thy soul, and with all thy mind," and "Thou

    alt love thy neighbor as thyself." In Deut. 6:4-6;

0:12-13; 11:1; and Lev. 19:18, 34, Moses in identicalords revealed the essence of the Law, as given in the

ommandments of the Lord to Israel for a national law.

hus we see that the weakness in the Sinai Government

d not consist in any error or fault in the Kingdom

elf, into which the children of Israel were

ducted, and of which the Lord Himself was Lawgiver

d King; neither was the Law as given to them faulty

any way; but the real weakness lay in the people who

ere the citizens of the Kingdom.

o remedy the condition, then, it is not necessary to

ange either the King or the Law, but it is absolutely

mperative that the citizens be changed so that they

n "will to will God's Will," and that is just what

e Lord declares that He will do, as we shall see as

    e proceed with our study.

atan seeks to prevent the accomplishment of thisurpose, however, because only by keeping mankind in

s "Kingdoms of this world," can he achieve his

    bjective of world dominion.

he enmity declared in Gen. 3:15 therefore continues

e "serpent" or "dragon" system functioning through

e "Kingdom of this World," and the "Woman," Israel,

ho is the bride of the Lord (see Jer. 3:14); and

tween the "seed of the serpent," who are the

hildren of this world," and the "seed of the woman,"ho are the "children of the Kingdom".

-The Law and the Ceremonial Ordinances-

st as the Lord's Kingdom Program was progressively

vealed to the children of Israel and through them, of

urse, to the whole world, so the Lord's Plan for the

generation of the whole Adamic race is progressivelyvealed.

egeneration includes forgiveness and atonement for sin

d the new birth in the spirit. Forgiveness was

clared from the beginning; but before sin can really

forgiven, it must be atoned for by rectification

all the wrongs for which it is responsible, and the

onement was at first revealed only in type through

e sacrifices and offerings instituted under

remonial ordinances. Such offerings and sacrificesand of themselves were of no effect in the matter of

aking atonement, but they did point to the supreme

crifice of Him who came to reconcile the world to the

ord by making full restitution for the sins of the

    hole world.

hese ordinances were of course "nailed to the cross"

ith Jesus Christ because when He had actually come and

ade the atonement, the types were no longer necessary.

he Law itself, however, as given in the commandments,

atutes and Judgments, had nothing to do with

lvation or redemption, and it was in no way affected

y the coming of the Saviour. The relationship of the

ildren of Israel to the Law was radically changed,

owever. Having fallen under the "curse" or punishment

the Law, through their inability to keep it, and yet

ound to it by their own voluntary vow, their only hopey in the "promise" of the Lord, under His new covenant

ee Jer. 31-33), to write the law in their hearts.

ith the Law written in their hearts, together with the

onement for their sins completed, they were no longer

nder the "curse" for the disobedience to the law. Nor

ere they any longer under the "covenant of bondage" to

e law made at Sinai. Having become "children" of the

ord in the spirit, they are "heirs of God (to His

    omises), and joint-heirs with Christ."heir "vow to keep the Law" was fulfilled in Christ;

ut what is even more important is that in Christ

ey obey "the voice of God" through love and thus

    ceive all the promised blessings.

hus we see that far from destroying the Law, Jesus

me to fulfill the Law, not only for Himself, but

so in and for His "children" forever.

-The History of Israel as a Nation-

he atonement of Jesus Christ and regeneration through

is Spirit is the free gift to all men, and as far as

e individual, whether Israelite, Jew or Gentile, is

ncerned, this free gift is the only hope of salvation

om sin, death and the power or dominion of Satan. In

is respect, the children of Israel have no advantage

ver any other son of Adam. However, the children of Israelere "chosen" collectively as a family to become the Lord's servant

ation, and that "call" has never been abrogated or

anged. We shall, therefore, briefly consider the history

this set-apart race while it functioned as God's Kingdom Nation.

fter wandering 40 years in the wilderness of Sinai, as

preparation for becoming a Nation, they are brought

the land promised to them through their fathers.

here they were established as a Nation in their own

nd, and the law was administered by Judges selected

    y the Lord.

e have previously shown that the Lord was the King and

at He actually had a Throne in Israel. In Gen.

9:10, we are told that a representative from the

ouse of Judah was to wield the "sceptre" on this

hrone until Shiloh, who is none other than Jesus

hrist, comes to take it for Himself.avid was the first member of the tribe of Judah to

cupy this "Throne of the Kingdom of the Lord over

rael" (see 1 Chron.28:4-5). This Throne is called

he throne of the Lord" in I Chron. 29:23.

any students of the Scriptures have difficulty

conciling the Lord's promise to Judah with the fact

at such a long time elapsed before the throne was

tually given to a descendant of Judah.

he answer to this puzzle is found in Deut. 23:2. Thene of Judah was tainted for ten generations under the

w there given, because of the circumstances of the

rth of Judah's sons, Zarah and Phraez. David was

e tenth generation from Judah, and his generation

as, therefore, the first one eligible to occupy the throne.

-The Lord's Division in the House of Israel-

Ps. 114:1-2 we read, "When Israel went out of Egypt,

    e house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

dah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion." Thus

e find that there are two divinely appointed groups

the family of Israel and that each has its own

    ecific function in God's Plan.

ailure to take this fact into consideration has

inded the eyes of most Bible students to the plain

ory of the Bible. In Gen. 48:16, we are told that when Israel wasessing the two sons of Joseph, he said: "Let my name

named on them". Thus they inherited the name of

srael" in a special sense. In the same chapter we

e also told that the birthright was given to them.

I Chron. 5:1-2 we read, "His (Reuben's) birthright

as given unto the sons of Joseph; and the genealogy is

ot to be reckoned after the birthright. For Judah

evailed above his brethern, and of him came the chief

ler (Prince); but the birthright was Joseph's."

he birthright was, of course, the inheritance in the

romise" of national blessing made to the children of

rael, and this was given to Joseph and his sons,

phraim and Manasseh, to whom also the name of Israel

    as given.

om Judah was to come the ruling line which included,

course, the Lord of Lord's and King of King's, Jesushrist Himself.

he actual division of the family into these two groups

shown by the way the census figures were totaled. In

e tabulations, the figures for Judah were always

taled separately, while the totals for Israel

cluded all the figures of the other 11 tribes added

    gether.

    -The Kingdom Divided-

uring the reigns of David and Solomon, the two

visions were united, but when Solomon's son,

ehoboam, came to the throne, the 10 northern tribes

belled. The Tribe of Judah remained loyal to the

oyal Line of David, and the tribe of Benjamin was

    aned to Rehoboam.

here were thus two kingdoms; (1) the 10-tribedorthern kingdom, called the Kingdom of Israel; and (2)

e two-tribed southern Kingdom, called the Kingdom of

dah. The Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah

ere never united, but continued as separate nations

ntil they were overthrown by the Assyrians and the

abylonians. The northern kingdom was fully entitled to

e name of Israel, and all the kingdom blessings were

herited by them; for Ephriam and Manasseh were the

ominant tribes in the kingdom and to them had beenven both the birthright and the name of Israel.

he tribe of Judah, on the other hand, supported by the

be of Benjamin, was the sanctuary for the Royal

ne, the Throne, the Temple and the Oracles, until

ovision had been made elsewhere for them as we shall

    e.

    -Israel Rejected as God's Nation-

hen the ten-tribed Israel rebelled, they did so

ainst the House of David and not against Judah. This

made very clear in I Kings 12:16-17 and II Chron.

0:16-17. They selected Jeroboam, a son of Saul, a

enjaminite, to occupy the throne of the Kingdom.

he full significance of this action becomes evidenthen we remember that the Lord had reserved the throne

Israel for Himself to be occupied by the one

lected by Him to sit on it. The right to hold the

eptre had been given to Judah, but when the throne

as given to David, who was of the tribe of Judah, and

nce entitled to hold it under the first promise, the

ord made the line of David a new house and limited the

ngship to that house. (See II Samuel 7 and Psalms

9). From this time on, the rest of the tribe of Judahd no right in the throne. They were still the Lord's

    nctuary, however.

nce this throne was the "Lord's throne" reserved

r "Shiloh," the Kingdom of Israel really rejected

e Kingship of the Lord when they rebelled against

    is throne.

he second step by the Kingdom of Israel away from the

ord was made when Jeroboam set up two golden calves

d induced the people to adopt them as their nationalods. (See I Kings 12: 25-33).

ater, during the reign of King Omri, the "statutes

Omri" were substituted for the Commandments,

atutes and Judgments of the Lord as the national

    w. (See Micah 6:16).

hile the children of Israel had often grumbled against

eir kings, they had not, since the accession of

avid, completely repudiated the Lord's throne, until

ey rebelled against Rehoboam and set Jeroboam on therone.

lso while both the kings and the people had often

orshipped false gods, they had done so as individuals,

d had not nationally rejected the Lord until Jeroboam

t up the golden calves and established the new

    tional worship.

nd finally, although both king and people had

rsonally disobeyed the Law of the Lord, they had not

ntil the time of King Omri substituted

    an-made

atutes and ordinances for the Commandments, Statutes

d Judgments of the Lord as the national law.

y doing these things, the Kingdom of Israel had

jected the Lord as King and as God and had repudiated

e Law of the Lord. Thus they were no longer the

ord's Kingdom. They had become like all the otherKingdoms of this world."

herefore the Lord says, "Behold, the eyes of the Lord

od are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will utterly

stroy it from the face of the earth." The children of

rael, who had so gladly voted to "obey the voice of

e Lord," had come to the end of the road. They had

ought upon themselves the punishment of exile among

e nations for seven times as pronounced by the Lord

r disobedience. (See Lev. 26). They were divorced bye Lord, (see Jer. 3:8; and Isa. 50:1). The kingdom

as destroyed and the people carried captive into the

nd of the Medes by the Assyrians. Israel had proven

    at she needed a Saviour.

    -The Kingdom of Judah Broken-

he Lord had mercy upon His sanctuary, Judah, however,d she continued as a nation under the throne of

avid for approximately 130 years after Israel had been

verthrown. (See Hosea 1:7). But Judah also departed

om the Lord (see Jer. 3:8-10) until finally the Babylonians

nder Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the Kingdom and took its people

    Babylon. Judah, too, had proven

    at she needed a Saviour.

-Israel and Judah to Be Restored-

lthough the House of Israel, including both the

ildren of Israel and the house of Judah, had

rfeited all right to blessing under the covenant made

Sinai, their failure did not abrogate nor nullify

e Lord's unconditional covenant made with them

heritance, which was given to them by "promise."

the children of Israel are to receive their

nheritance," it will be necessary that they be

egathered" and restored as a "nation" in the land

omised to their fathers as an "everlasting

ossession," and that is just exactly what the Lord,

rough His prophets, promises to do.

ll the prophets, without exception, agree that wheneir "times" of exile and punishment expire, they will

regathered and restored as a nation over which the

ord Himself shall reign. All such promises of

tional restoration are addressed only to the children

Israel and no such promises are ever made to the

ouse of Judah, except in so far as they

are in the promises, as part of the family, with all

e other children of Israel. The kingdom of Israel

hich was overthrown by the Assyrians is the kingdomhich will be restored. The Kingdom of Judah was

rmanently broken and will never be restored as a

ngdom again. This is definitely shown in Jer. 19,

here Jeremiah is told to break an earthen bottle,

hich cannot be put back together again, in the sight

the ancients of the people and the ancients of the

iests and then to tell them, "Thus will I

eak this people and this city, as one breaketh a

otter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again."he Lord did make many specific promises to Judah,

owever, but these promises have to do with her

storation as the Lord's sanctuary and not as His

ominion. Judah, as one of the tribes of Israel, will,

owever, have a part in the restored Kingdom as one of

tribes. Hosea 1:11 shows this as does Jer. 3:18,

hich reads, "In those days the house of Judah shall

alk to the house of Israel, and they shall come

gether out of the land of the north to the land thathave given for an inheritance unto your fathers."

either is there any promise of national restoration

er made to the House of Judah. The Nation of Judah set up

y a remnant of the captives of Jerusalem taken to

abylon, was in no sense a restoration of the Kingdom

Israel nor the Kingdom of Judah. Daniel 9:24 shows

at, the House of Judah was to be established for 70 prophetic

eeks in the Holy City for certain specific purposes,

    le:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/Iceman/My%20Documents/Gods%20Covenent%20People.txt (18 of 49)1/10/2007 9:47:54 AM

l of which were fulfilled in Jesus Christ during His

rst advent as Saviour; and Paul tells us that to the House of

dah were committed the Oracles (or Word) of the Lord.

    Heb. 3:2).

emembering that Judah is the Lord's sanctuary, it

comes plain that the Lord used the House of Judah,

e sanctuary tribe, to receive the Lord in the

esh and to preserve the Scriptures, while the rest ofe children of Israel were wandering among the

tions, worshipping false gods; who were not known as,

d who themselves did not even know that they were,

    od's people.

ad it not been for the House of Judah, there would have been

one of "His own" to whom Jesus could have come, nor

ould the Scriptures have been preserved. Thus we see

at a portion of Judah carried out its work as the

ord's sanctuary.hen this task was finished, the task of the House of Judah as a

ople was ended. There is therefore no promise to the

ouse of Judah, as distinguished from the rest of Israel, either

a nation or as the Lord's sanctuary. In fact, there

not one single "inheritance" promised anywhere in

e Scriptures to the House of Judah. As members of the

mily of Israel, they must receive their inheritance

y taking their place with the rest of the children of

rael. The only way they can do this is to acknowledgesus Christ as Saviour, Redeemer and King; and when

ey do this, they are no longer seperate from Israel, for they then

come "fellow-citizens with the saints and of the

    ousehold of God".

-The Children of Israel in Exile-

lthough the children of Israel were to be scatteredmong the nations for seven times (Lev. 26); without

ercy (Hos. 1:6); during which time they would be blind

    their own identity and responsibility (Isa. 1:1-4);

    orship false gods and idols (Deut. 4:28; Jer. 16:13);

    d would not be known as the Lord's people (Hos. 1:9);

ey would not be hidden from the Lord (Jer. 16:17).

hrough all of His prophets, the Lord declares that He

ill gather them from the nations and restore them to

e land promised to them as an everlasting

heritance, when their seven times of punishment shall

    ve expired.

is therefore only reasonable to expect that the Lord

ould, in some way, indicate where they were, and what

ey were going through, during the time they were in

ile, and when we examine the record, as

ven by the prophets, we find that the Lord didmark" His people so that when the "Great Round-up of

e Nations" takes place, at the end of the age, His

Chosen" servant people can be identified.

nce it is primarily our purpose to outline the Bible

ory rather than prove who the modern children of

rael are, we shall not devote much space to this

hase of the question. We shall therefore content

urselves with simply giving such incidental evidence

automatically comes to light as we follow the storythe Lord's record of and His dealings with His

    ople.

The Children of Israel Can Be Traced in Secular History-

istory, both sacred and profane, records that the

ildren of Israel from the northern Kingdom were taken

y the Assyrians into the land of the Medes in therritory to the southwest of the Caspian sea.

is now a well established fact that the Assyrians

lled the children of Israel "Beth Kumbri" and "Beth

ak," and by derivatives of these names they can be

    aced to the present time.

sdras, in the Apocrypha, and Josephus, in his

Antiquities of the Jews," tell us that the children of

rael moved from Media into the territory between and

ound the Black and Caspian seas. In the Crimea nearebastopol, one of the largest Hebrew cemeteries in

e world has been discovered. More than 700 of its

mbstones have been deciphered, and every one

entifies the grave of a descendant of the children of

rael taken into captivity by the Assyrians. None of

ese tombstones marked the grave of a Jew.

he children of Israel were called "the people of the

ord," and from the ancient records we know that the

ersians referred to them as the "Guta-Thiuda," which

    eans the "Great God's Troops."

aving thus found that the captive Israelites were

lled "Beth Sak," "Beth Khumri," "Guta-Thiuda," etc.,

e can by these names and their equivalents in various

nguages trace the trek of the tribes of Israel.

istorians tell us that in the very territory where

sdras and Josephus place the children of Israel, ere lived peoples known as the "Gimiri or Cimmeri,"

e Sakai, the Sacae, the Scythians, the Getae, the

    assagetae, etc.

r Henry Rawlinson, who deciphered the Behistun Rock,

ys, "The ethnic name Gimri occurs in the cuniform

riting of the time of Darius. It is equivalent of the

reek Cimmeri, and of the Danish Cymbri, and of the

elsh Khumri." He also expressed the opinion that, "we

ve reasonable grounds for regarding the Gimri, ormmerians, who first appeared in the confines of

ssyria and Media in the seventh century, B. C., and

e Sacae of the Behistun Rock nearly two centuries

    ter, as identical with Israel."

erodotus traces the "Khumbri" in the Crimea and the

cuths" located at Arsareth on the Black Sea (where

sdras placed the children of Israel), from Media.

iny says that the "Crimmerians," later known as

e "Cymri," came from Asia Minor and the same writerso says, "The Sakai were among the most distinguished

ople of Scythia, who settled in Armenia, and were

    lled Sacas-Sani."

olemy finds that the Saxons were a race of Scythians,

lled Sakai, who came from Media. Albinus writes,

The Saxons were descended from the ancient sacae of

sia." Sharon Turner says, "The Saxons were a Scythian

tion, and were called Saca, Sachi, Dacki, Sacksen, etc."

the same way we can trace the "Guta-Thiuda" of theersians through the "Gatae" down to the "Goths," and

e march of the Saxons, Angles and Goths into

orthwestern Europe and the British Isles is a matter

    historic record.

. Paul de Chaillu, the French historian, made

tensive investigations of the old records in all the

e shall not devote more space to consideration of this

uestion, but if any student desires to make a more

orough study of the matter, we would refer him to the

any excellent works devoted to this subject.

National Status of the Children of Israel in Exile-

e have previously pointed out that Abraham was told by

e Lord that his seed should become "a great and a

ighty nation," that he was to be the "father of many

tions," and that Jacob was promised that his seed

ould become "a nation and a company of nations."

urthermore, when Jacob blessed the two sons of Joseph,

phraim and Manasseh, after he had adopted them as hisns, he declared that Manasseh should become a

eople" which was to become "Great," and that Ephriam

ould become "a multitude or a company of nations."

hese prophecies were not fulfilled when the children

Israel were in Palestine, and they have not been,

or can they be fulfilled, by either the Church or the

ws. We must, therefore, look for 'their fulfillment

llowing the expiration of their seven times of

unishment, and it is certainly reasonable to do so,hen we remember that Jacob called his sons together to

ll them what should "befall them in the last days."

    Gen. 49:1).

even times of prophetic reckoning is equal to 2520

ars, and since more than 2520 years have elapsed

nce the children of Israel went into exile, there

ust be a people in the earth today who are now, and

ho have in the past, fulfilled the prophetic destiny

the children of Israel.omewhere there must be a "People" who have become

reat;" and a "Nation" whose name is "Great," which

ew into a "Company of Nations." From the same racial

ock must also have developed "Many Nations," and

mnants of the same people must be scattered in all

    tions.

nly among the Celto-Anglo-Saxon and kindred peoples

d nations can we find all of these prophecies

    -Manasseh Becomes a Great People-

he half tribe of Manasseh, together with the tribes of

euben and Gad, were taken into captivity by Tiglathpileser

out 745 B. C., and we must naturally look fore fulfillment of the prophecy concerning Manasseh

coming a "Great People" 2520 years later.

    20 years from 745 B. C. takes us to 1776 A. D., and

that year the 13 American colonies declared their

dependence and became a nation, which in its

onstitution and other national documents calls itself

    The People."

his in itself would be a striking coincidence, but it

comes even more striking when we find that Nathanielorton, in his "New England Memorial" (1669) wrote,

The praise of the Lord. That especially the seed of

braham His servant, and the children of Jacob His

osen, may remember His marvelous works in the

ginning and progress of the planting of New England,

eorge Washington called America "the second Land of

umble instrument in the hands of the Almighty, and ofis, His almost chosen people."

enjamin Franklin proposed a design for the reverse

fely crossing the Red Sea, and Thomas Jefferson

our nation recognized that our destiny as a people

d as a nation is bound up in the Plans and Purposes

the Lord. Volumes of evidence can be compiled

oving that their knowledge was based on factual

idence and not on mere theory and superstition; but

ain lack of space prevents our going into this

    atter more fully.

    -Ephraim Becomes "A Great Nation"-

phraim and the rest of the tribes of Israel remaining

Palestine at the time were taken into captivity by

    e Assyrians in the year 721 B. C., 2520 years from

at date takes us to 1800 A. D., when England,

cotland and Ireland were joined and became "Great

ritain."he word "British" is made up of two Hebrew words,

Brith," meaning "Covenant," and "ish" meaning "man."

British" thus literally means "Covenant Man." Since

in" means "land," "Britain" equals "Covenant Land."

he Lord told Abram (Abraham), "I will make of thee a

eat nation, and I will bless thee (or it), and make

y (or its) name great." (Gen. 12:2). In the British

ation, with its name "Great Britain," we have a

eral fulfillment of this promise.he heraldry of Great Britain, as well as that of the

    S. A., is made up largely of Israelitish symbols.

the Royal Coat of Arms are found the "Unicorn,"

hich was one of the signs of Joseph (Deut. 33:17; Num.

4:8), and also "the Lion and the young lions" (Num.

:24; 24:9). The "bull" was also a sign of the tribe

Joseph, and we call Britain, and especially England,

    ohn Bull."

he ensign of Britain is the "Union Jack," and whenmes I had joined the crosses of St. Andrew and St.

eorge, thus forming the Union Jack, he said, "This is

e Union of the House of Jacob."

is also interesting to note that the ritual used

uring the coronation of the British kings is

entical with that used for the crowning of the Kings

the Royal Line of David, as given in II Kings, and

    II Chron. 23.

-Ephraim Becomes a "Company of Nations"-

he descendants of Joseph were to be great colonizers

Gen. 49:22; Isa. 54:2-3), and no people have been more

ccessful in their colonizing efforts than the Celto-

nglo-Saxon peoples. Ephraim-Britain has beenrticularly active and successful along this line.

he has planted many colonies throughout the world,

ving literally fulfilled the Lord's injunction to

reak forth on the right hand and on the left;......

d make the desolate cities to be inhabited."

hese colonies have grown and prospered until they have

    come great nations or dominions in their own right;

d in 1931, under the Statute of Westminster, these

oung lions" were united with Great Britain as theCommonwealth of British Nations." This Commonwealth

r Company) of Covenant-men Nations literally fulfills

e prophecy that Ephriam should become a "company of

    tions".

-Destiny of Britain and the U.S.A.-

s the inheritors of the "birthright" given to the sonsJoseph (Gen. 48; I Chron. 5:12,) Britain and the

S.A. have received the "national blessings" and have

rried on the earthly functions of the house of

rael. True, they have done this blindly and

mperfectly and in practically complete ignorance of

    eir true identity and responsibility.

hey have, however, "stretched forth the curtains of

eir habitations; lengthened their cords and

rengthened their stakes" (Isa. 54: 2); and have beenlight to the nations" (Isa. 49:6); served as the

ord's "Battle axe and weapons of war" (Jer. 51:20); and

ushed the people together to the ends of the earth."

    Deut. 33:17).

fact, from the prophecies in the Scriptures for

phraim and Manasseh, we can get a general picture of

e history of Great Britain and the U. S. A. as nations.

ind to their real identity and unmindful of their

eat heritage and responsibilities, these servants of

e Lord have not performed their "greatest task,"

owever, and they will never realize the great

essings in store for them until they willingly take

    p that task.

efore considering this "task" specifically, it would

well to call attention to two statements by the

ord as to land division.rst in Deut. 32:8, "When the most High divided to the

tions their inheritance,.....He set the bounds of the

ople according to the number of the children of

rael," and secondly, in II Samuel 7:10, "I will

point a place for My people Israel, and plant them,

at they may dwell in a place of their own, and move

    o more."

he first shows that even at the time when the Lord

eparated the sons of Adam," the territorialquirements of the children of Israel were taken into

nsideration, and the second quotation shows that a

finite reservation of a portion of the earth's

rface is reserved as a "place" of their own for the

    ildren of Israel.

his last quoted promise of the Lord cannot apply to

e land of Canaan or Palestine, which had been given

the "seed of Israel", for at the time when this

omise was made, the children of Israel were aosperous nation in that very land. It must therefore

ply to the time when the children of Israel were

lfilling their destiny as "A Great People," "A

    mpany of Nations," etc.

he problem is answered when we turn to Isa. 49, where

e Lord says, "Listen, 0 Isles, unto Me; and hearken,

People, from far." We have shown how Ephraim in the

ritish Isles became first a "Great Nation," which

veloped into a "Company of Nations," and how Manassehar" across the sea became "The People". When the Lord

ys "Listen, 0 Isles, unto Me; and hearken ye People

om far," He must be addressing Britain and the U.S.A.

verse 3, the Lord continues, "Thou (0 Isles and Ye

eople) art My servant, 0 Israel, in whom I will be

orified." In Ezek. 36:22-23, the Lord says that His

eat purpose is to glorify and sanctify His name in

e house of Israel, and here the Lord says that the

sles and the People" are His servant Israel in whom

    e will be glorified.

verse 6 the Lord tells how His servant, (the Isles

d the People) will glorify His name, "It is a light

ing that thou shouldest be My servant to raise up the

bes of Jacob, and restore the preserved (or

solationsMargin) of Israel: I will also give thee

r a light to the nations, that thou mayest be (oring) My salvation to the ends of the earth."

aving established Ephraim in the "Isles" as Britain

d "brought a Vine into this wilderness" as "The

eople" of the U. S. A., the Lord declares that it is

eir task to "raise up the tribes of Jacob, and

store the desolations of Israel" and bring His

lvation to the ends of the earth.

the past, both Britain and the U. S. A. have been

vens of refuge to which the "tribes of Jacob" couldee, and they have also sent out more missionaries to

read the "Gospel of Salvation" to the ends of the

rth than all the rest of the world put together.

ecause of their blindness, this work has not been as

ell done as it could have been, and during the past

cades they have united themselves so completely with

e "kingdoms of this world" that their "great task" in

    rael has been completely ignored.

he "day of Jacob's trouble" (Jer. 30:5-7) haserefore come upon them, but they "shall be saved out

it," and when they turn to the

ord they will again assume the responsibilities of

eir "great commission" and truly become a "light to

e nations" and a blessing to all the families of the

rth, and "all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy

aviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob."

his is clearly shown in the Lord's message to Britain

d the U. S. A. as found in the 49th chapter of Isaiah.

    -Israel to Become "Many Nations"-

addition to the "Company of Nations" and the "Great

eople," the children of Israel were also to become

any nations, and the Celto-Anglo-Saxon and kindred

oples have literally fulfilled this prophecy, too.

    le:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/Iceman/My%20Documents/Gods%20Covenent%20People.txt (27 of 49)1/10/2007 9:47:54 AM

hen the seven times of punishment had expired, these

    elto-Anglo-Saxon-Israel people established several

dependent nations founded upon and motivated by the

me fundamental principles of freedom and justice as

ere the U. S. A. and the Commonwealth of British

    ations.

orway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Switzerland, etc.,

e examples of such nations who have been fulfillinge prophetic destiny for modern Israel peoples.

hese nations as "the children" of Israel are now "prey

the terrible" of the nations, and according to Isa.

9, the U. S. A. and Britain will have a great part to

ay in "delivering and saving them from destruction".

-Israel to Be Restored Under a "New Covenant"-

he fact that the children of Israel are to be restored

the Lord's Kingdom Nation on the earth is so

nerally declared by all the prophets that we shall

ot at this time devote space to proving it. The Lord's

ethod for fitting them for citizenship in His Kingdom

d the details of the fulfillment of His purpose do,

    owever, require some consideration.

fter the children of Israel had "broken" their mutual

venant with the Lord, entered into at Sinai, they, ofurse, forfeited all rights and privileges under that

reement. Their only hope then was the Lord's

nconditional "covenant of promise" made with them and

eir fathers long before the Sinai covenant was

tered into. This "covenant of promise" under which

nly the Lord was obligated, could not, of course, be

ullified by the failure on the part of the children of

rael to keep the "law covenant."

o carry out His unconditional covenant and further Hiswn purpose, the Lord, therefore, promises to make a

ew covenant" with the house of Israel.

Jer. 31:31-33, the Lord says, "Behold the days come,

ith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with

e house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not

cording to the covenant that I made with their

thers in the day that I took them by the hand to

ing them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant

ey brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith

e Lord; but this shall be the covenant that I will

ake with the house of Israel: After those days (of

ile and punishment), saith the Lord, I will put My

    w in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;

d I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

Ezek. 36:25-27, the Lord explains how this will be

ought about, "I will sprinkle clean water upon you,d ye shall be clean.....A new heart also will I give

ou.....And I will put my spirit within you, and cause

ou to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my

    dgments, and do them."

should be noted that these promises are not made to

"few individuals" taken at random from the world nor

e they made to the world' in general. They are

dressed to the "house of Israel," the same literal

ouse of Israel which was taken into captivity.urthermore, the purpose to be accomplished under this

ew covenant" was not that the "house of Israel" was

be taken to some far away heaven in the sky after it

ed. Verses 35 to the end of chapter 31 show clearly

at the house of Israel is to be restored as a nation

n the earth, and verses 29 to the end of Ezek. 36 tell

e same story with such promises as these: "Ye shall

well in the land that I gave to your fathers.....!

ill multiply the fruit of the tree, and increase theeld.....! will also cause you to dwell in the cities,

d the wastes shall be builded. And the desolate land

    all be tilled, etc."

hile the blessings under the new covenant are

entical with those promised under the old, there is a

ry vital difference between the covenants

emselves. Under the old, the Lord promised "if" the

ildren of Israel "obeyed" the laws as contained on

e "tables of stone and the book of the law;" whilender the new covenant, the "law will be written in

eir hearts," making them willing and able to "walk in

e Lord's statutes" and thus receive the blessing.

was by doing this that Jesus Christ became the

edeemer of Israel. We shall go into this redemptive

ork more fully when we shall consider the first advent

Jesus when He came as Saviour of the world and the

    edeemer of Israel.

"New Covenant" Made with the Whole House of Israel-

any sincere Christians and Bible students have

roneously ascribed the temporal blessing for Israel,

nder the "covenant of promise" and the "new covenant,"

the Jews as the modern representatives of theildren of Israel after the flesh. And this in spite

the fact that never once in the Scriptures are the

venants and promises made to the house of Israel

    ansferred to the Jews.

Ezek. 11:14-20, where the Lord explains how the "new

venant" will be fulfilled, the question as to what

anch of Israel it applies is definitely told.

erse 14 reads, "Again the word of the Lord came unto

e (Ezekiel)." Before going on with the passage, atle word of explanation will help to make the whole

atter more clear. At the time "the word of the Lord"

me to Ezekiel, the children of Israel from the ten tribed

orthern Kingdom of Israel had long since been

attered among the nations by the Assyrians, and "the

inces of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths," had

en carried away by Nebuchadnezzar (Jer. 24:1). These

ood figs" (Jer. 24:5) were the "brethren" of Ezekiel

ith whom he wasken into captivity. The "inhabitants of Jerusalem"

ere those who remained in Jerusalem under Zedekiah

d are known as the "bad figs" (Jer. 24:8).

ow let's turn back to Ezek. 11:14-20, "Again the word

the Lord came unto me, saying, 'Son of man, thy

ethren (the good figs), even thy brethren, the men

f Judah) of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel

holly (those of the kingdom of Israel who had been

attered among the nations), are they unto whom thehabitants of Jerusalem (the bad figs) have said, "Get

ou far from the Lord; unto us is this land given in

    ossession."'

other words, the "inhabitants of Jerusalem," in

zekiel's time, said to the house of Israel in

spersion and to the "good figs" of Judah, "You have

o further claim to this land and the promises. It all

    longs to us."

    le:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/Iceman/My%20Documents/Gods%20Covenent%20People.txt (30 of 49)1/10/2007 9:47:54 AM

his is the same claim made for and by the Jews today,

d the present day Jews can only claim descent (from cain) in

rael from the "inhabitants of Jerusalem," who were

ken to Babylon when Zedekiah was overthrown and who

ter returned to Jerusalem and set up the Nation of

    e Jews.

ow let's see what the Lord has to say about this

aim, "Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God;lthough I have cast them (the house of Israel wholly)

f among the heathen, and although I have scattered

em among the countries, yet will I be to them as a

tle sanctuary in the countries where they shall

me." Surely this shows that the Lord has not

mpletely cast off these children of Israel.

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God: I will even

ther you from the people and assemble you out of the

untries where ye have been scattered, and I will giveou the land of Israel.....And I will give them one

art, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I

ill take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will

ve them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in My

atutes, and keep Mine ordinances, and do them; and

ey shall be My people and I will be their God." No

rther comment on our part is necessary.

-Jesus Christ Comes as Savior and Redeemer-

hristians have always recognized and acknowledged

sus Christ as the Saviour of the world, and such He

uly was. In Him the "free gift" of salvation from

n, death and the power of Satan if offered to all

en. "As in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be

ade alive'.' "As by the offense of one judgment came

pon all men to condemnation; even so by theghteousness of one, the gift came upon all men unto

    stification of life."

his "justification of life" through Jesus Christ is

e only hope for every son of Adam for righteousness

d it must be appropriated through faith. In respect

personal salvation from sin and death and

ghteousness before God, there is absolutely no

fference between "Israelite,Jew (house of Judah) or Gentile (nation)".

aul sums this matter up in Rom. 3:20-23, "Therefore by the

eds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in

is sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

ut now the righteousness of God without the law is

    anifest, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

en the righteousness which is by faith of Jesus

hrist unto all that believe; for there is no

fference; for all have sinned, and come short of theory of God."

ontrary to the quite prevalent belief among Christians

at this means that the law is done away with, it

eans exactly the opposite. Men become sinners because

disobedience to God's law and thus come short of His

ory. Having come under the condemnation of sin, they

nnot again be justified by the very law which

ndemns them. A Saviour then becomes necessary, and

e only way that such a Saviour can save the sinner isHimself be free from sin or offense against the

    w. In other words, He must always have obeyed the

    w. Had He ever broken it, He would Himself be a

    nner and need a Saviour.

y fulfilling the law for every man, in other words, by

ctifying all the breaches of the law ever made by all

en, Jesus Christ made atonement for sin and justified

ankind before the law. The next step is the

generation by the "new birth" in the spirit whichakes it possible for man to "walk in the Lord's

atutes, and keep His judgments and do them."

his "common salvation," which is a free gift to all

e house of Israel collectively can fulfill its

e new covenant, He promises to restore them as His

ouse of Israel is the nucleus and of which the aliens

om the Commonwealth of Israel become fellow-citizens

    ith the saints.

fact, the establishment of His Kingdom on the earth

the Lord's primary purpose; and individual salvation

om sin, death and the power of Satan is His method

r preparing the "fallen" sons of Adam for citizenship

    that Kingdom.

-Satan's "Kingdom" Given a World Charter-

o prepare the children of Israel for their "great

sk" required time because they must voluntarily come

the Lord, for the Lord wants them to be "free"

tizens of His Kingdom and not slaves. That they will

nally so turn to the Lord is definitely declared inzek. 36:37, "I will yet for this be enquired of by the

ouse of Israel to do it for them."

s a part of their preparation, the children of Israel

ere compelled to remain under the dominion of the

ingdoms of this world" for seven times, and during

is period of exile for the children of Israel, a

arter for world dominion was given to the Babylonian

    uccession of Empires.

ot only had Satan seemingly succeeded in thwarting theord's plan to establish His Kingdom on the earth, when

e Kingdom of Israel was broken and its citizens

rried into captivity, but the Lord even gave

ominion to Satan's "kingdoms of this world" under the

    arter to Babylon.

Jer. 27:6-7, we are told that control of all lands

as given to Nebuchadnezzar, his son, and his son's

n, until the very end of his land be come," and that

ll nations" should obey him. In Dan. 4, whereebuchadnezzar typifies the whole Babylonian Succession

Empires, we learn that the charter shall continue

    r seven times.

ominion under the charter passed from Babylon to Medo-

ersia, then to Greece and finally to Rome. In Dan. 2,

e are told that the fourth kingdom (Rome) was to be

vided; and history records that the Roman Empire was

vided into an eastern kingdom with its first capital

Constantinople, and a western division with its

    pital at Rome.

he official title of the Babylonian rulers was "Zar,"

d this title gives us one of the easiest clues to

llow in tracing descent of power under the charter.

hus we see that the rulership in the eastern Empire

oved northward and finally was held by the "Tzars" of

e Russians. The western kingdom developed into theoly Roman Empire under Austrian control, and finally

e Hohenzollern Dynasty held the power under the

Kaisers." This title is also derived from the

abylonian "Zar," coming down through the Latin

Caesar," which became the title of the Roman Emperors

hen Attalus III of Pergamos willed his kingdom and all

    s titles to Rome.

he Babylonian charter became effective when

ebuchadnezzar became sole ruler of Babylon in 603C., and seven times or 2520 years brings us to 1918,

hen the charter expired. By the end of 1918, both the

Tzar" and the "Kaiser," the last two kings to hold

ower under the charter to Babylon, were dethroned, and

e dominion of the Babylonian Succession was ended.

-The Great Day of the Lord Begins-

Dan. 7:9-10, the prophet declares, "I beheld till

e throne (of the last Babylonian "beast" kingdoms)

ere cast down, and the Ancient of Days did sit.....

nd) the judgment was set, and the books were opened."

he fall of the Babylonian thrones marked the

ginning of the "Great and Terrible Day of the

ord," during which the "kingdoms of this world" will

brought to judgment, and the children of Israel

ill go through "The Time of Jacob's Trouble".hen this "Great Day of the Lord" is ended, the

ord's Millenial Reign of Righteousness will begin.

    -The Assyrian Revived-

uring the seven times that the Babylonian charter was

force, "all nations" were under its dominion, but we

e told in Rev. 17 and Dan. 2 that following its

piration, "ten" dictators should arise of which three

ould become dominant. History verifies this

ophecy. Following the First World War, the

overnments of all the nations which had been under

abylonian Dominion at the beginning of the war, were

    verthrown and dictatorships substituted.

he First Babylonian and Assyrian Systems, asiginated by Nimrod, were absolute dictatorships. The

econd Babylon, to which the charter for world dominion

as given, was on the other hand based on a system of

ws, from which the "Civil Law" of Rome was evolved.

he Code of Hammurabi held the same relationship to

    is Second Babylonian Succession

the "Code of Moses" did for the Kingdom of Israel.

he dictatorships which followed the First World War

ere revivals of the Old Babylonian and Assyrianystems, and in prophecy are referred to as Assyria.

hree of these Assyrian revivals became dominant,

mely, Communism, Fascism and Nazism. In Dan. 2 we

e told that "one" of the dictatorial kings should

bdue the rest, and Isaiah is particularly specific in

claring that a dictator shall arise, whom he refers

variously as "the terrible of the nations," "the

aster," etc., but he more often calls him "The

ssyrian." Daniel also calls him "The Desolator."II Esdras 12:23-27, we read that after the "three"

ctators have been set up, one of them shall be

iminated, and then the two remaining ones will fight

ntil one of them is "slain."

e have already seen how Mussolini and Fascism have

en reduced to vassalage by Hitler, and now Stalin and

itler are engaged in a great conflict from which one

them will emerge as "The Assyrian of Prophecy".

    -The Time of Jacob's Trouble-

his revived Assyrian will again afflict the modern of

hildren of Israel but only for "a little while" until

    e indignation be finished.

he 20th Chapter of Ezekiel gives us the details of the

tent, and the purpose, of this affliction. In this

hall beat their plowshares into swords, and their

uning hooks into spears," and we are surely

itnessing the literal fulfillment of this prophecy in

e world, and even within our own nation, today.

Rev. 16:13 we read that "three unclean spirits like

ogs out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the

outh of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false

ophet" shall "go forth unto the kings of the earth,d of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of

at great day of God Almighty." This, too, is being

    lfilled before our very eyes.

he 25th chapter of Jeremiah gives a word picture of

is terrible time when "all the kingdoms of the world"

all drink of the "wine cup of fury at the Lord's

nd." This world conflict is called the Lord's

ntroversy with the Nations" and the Lord declares

at "evil shall go from nation to nation, and a greathirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the

    rth."

ccording to Joel, the conflict will finally culminate

hen the nations are brought to the Valley of

hoshaphat, to the east of Jerusalem, where the Lord

ill sit to "judge the nations around about".

-The Lord Comes to Judge the Nations-

he Scriptures tell us that while this conflict is in

ogress, the Lord will return to judge the nations

eparatory to setting up His Throne and establishing

is Kingdom throughout the whole earth.

order to outline the working out of this program, it

ill be necessary for us to consider briefly the

lationship of Jesus Christ to the whole picture.

    -Jesus Christ as King-

hen the angel came to Mary to inform her that she was

be the mother of the Saviour, he said, "Thou shalt

ll His name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be

lled the Son of the Highest: AND THE LORD GOD SHALL

IVE UNTO HIM THE THRONE OF HIS FATHER DAVID: AND HE

HALL REIGN OVER THE HOUSE OF JACOB FOREVER: AND OF HIS

INGDOM THERE SHALL BE NO END."

actically all Christians and Bible students have

cognized that Jesus Christ was a King, but very few

ve realized that He has a literal throne on the

rth reserved for Him and that the house of Jacob is

be the nucleus of His Kingdom.

e have previously pointed out that the Lord had ahrone in Israel" and that it was given to the Royal

ne of David forever. In II Sam. 7 the Lord sets the house

David apart as the Royal Line to occupy the throne in Israel

r ever. Verse 16 reads, "And thine house and thy

ngdom shall be established for ever before thee; thy

rone shall be established forever." In Psa. 89:35-36,

e Lord says, "Once have I sworn by My holiness that I

ill not lie unto David. His seed shall endure for

er, and his throne as the sun before Me."e can, of course, trace this throne down to the time

Zedekiah, the last king of Judah, but from that

me on, it has been lost sight of historically. If

e Lord's promise means anything, however, that

rone must still be in existence ready to be taken

    hen Jesus Christ returns.

pace will not permit us to go into details, but we

all give a few of the many clues which enable us to

entify that throne today. More detailed proof willfound in the list of books appended to this article.

edekiah was the last king of the line of David to sit

n the throne in Jerusalem; and in the 21st chapter of

zekiel we are told that the diadem is to be removed

om Zedekiah's head and the crown taken away. It is

en to be "overturned, overturned, overturned," and be

o more moved "until He comes whose right it is."

hrough legends, history and the clues given to us by

e prophets, we can trace the three overturnings fromrusalem to Tara, Ireland, from Ireland to Scotland

d then to London, where it still remains and where

e Kings of Ephraim-Britain are still crowned upon the

me "Stone of destiny" used by the children of Israel

    Palestine.

hese positive statements are made on the evidence

rnished by many of the world's leading historians

    d genealogical authorities.
