Going to the ABQ BioPark Zoo for
Camp BioPark
Today I am going to the Albuquerque BioPark Zoo for
summer camp!
Before I go inside, my parents will sign me in with my
teacher. I may have to wait for the other kids to
show up too. I will then walk into the zoo with my
camp.
My teacher will go over what we are going to do for
the day.
Inside the zoo, there are many things to see. I can
look at the map and signs to find what exhibits I will
see. I can also follow my visual schedule!
I can bring my water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and
bug spray if I want while I walk around the zoo.
I can bring water and snacks to the zoo in case I get
hungry or thirsty during the day.
I will get to eat my lunch with all the other campers.
If I need help, I can ask my teacher or the other
person that is helping with my camp.
The animals I get to see will be behind a fence or
glass. I will keep myself outside of their homes.
I will walk along the paths with my camp. I will listen,
follow directions, and wait my turn to see the animals.

Some exhibits may be closed and animals may be
sleeping. I can come back another time if they are.
Some areas of the zoo may be loud or smell differently.
I can ask for a break if I need one.
I may get a little messy during arts and crafts.
When it is time to leave the zoo, I will get my things
and walk through the exit gate with my camp and
teacher.
I will stay with my teacher until my parent comes to
sign me out.
We will see you again tomorrow, don’t forget to
wear your camp shirt and bring all your camp things.
