Holiday Giving for Wounded Warriors by USO and Windward Mall
GOLDE N DRA GONS W EE KL Y BI NDER
This year, USO Hawaii and Windward Mall, Kaneohe partner to bring early holiday cheer to our islands’ Wounded Warriors. On Saturday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. mall shoppers will be treated to a center stage enter-tainment by comedian Frank DeLima, known for his charity work among disadvantaged children, as well as entertaining our island military. He will host the day’s appeal for holiday gift-giving for Wounded Warriors and their families.
The one-day targeted appeal for Wounded Warriors consists of gathering gift items that shoppers can purchase at the Windward Mall to be given to specific Wounded Warriors and their children. Based on a holiday wish list from Wounded Warrior Marines, Army soldiers, and all other military service branches, holiday shoppers are able to bring joy to those in our U.S. Armed Forces needing some holiday cheer.
Other featured guests on stage that day are Miss Chinatown and her Court, with some musical entertainment from mili-tary groups. Ladies from the group, Red Hot Flashes of Hawaii will join USO Hawaii volunteers make an appeal to shoppers that day, dressed in holiday apparel.
Holiday Giving for Wounded Warriors complements Windward Mall’s on-going weekly campaign program of support-ing our troops and helping their families. This is the second year of community partnership between USO Hawaii and Windward Mall, Kaneohe to benefit our military ohana. Salem media will provide multi-media coverage on Saturday, Nov. 13
