Many tee boxes also have a bucket of sand mixed with grass
seed.
If your club takes a chunk out of the grass, you fill in the divit
with this mixture.
For example, ladies tee up behind this red marker.

Along with a ball washer &
shoe cleaner

10. A demonstration
11. Pace of Play
A four-some playing 18 holes should take 4 hours 15 minutes, or

Many courses will provide you with the times so you can check your
pace at each hole

and ending at 2 hours 5 minutes
Each hole should take approximately 14 minutes
12. Obstacles are everywhere

4) Never drive on a tee box or putting green.
17. The flag on each putting green
Represents where the hole is located,
& is color-coded:
Red flag = front of green
White flag = middle of green
Yellow flag = back of green
*Colors may vary per course; this information is usually located on
the scorecard
18. Tending the flag
Until you are on the putting green, you need the flag to see where
you are going.
Once you are on the green, you can pull the flag and set it aside
while everyone putts in.
This also tells the group behind you that youre still on that hole,
so they dont hit into you.
19. Putting and then replacing the flag
The person furthest from the hole goes first.
If your ball is in their way, you need to mark your ball location
with something flat.
When everyone has made their ball into the hole, replace the
flag.
This lets the group behind you know youre moving on to the next
hole.
20. Mother Nature
Your tee time may be delayed due to
Lightning,
Frost,
& Rain
Typically, you can get a voucher to use another day if the weather
turns bad. Some course may reimburse you. Check each courses policy
because they vary.
