We had a nice field of 24 players play in the tournament. The Pro-Am will be played on Sunday afternoon, July 11. Berkeley Member, Jacob Bayer, is the defending champion after winning the tournament for the second time last year. The course will be open to the members for an 8:30am shotgun start followed by a 1:30 shotgun for the Pro-Am. There are spots open to the members for the Pro-Am. Please contact the Golf Shop if you have a team or would be interested in playing! The tournament will start on Monday morning with morning and afternoon tee times and again on Tuesday with morning and afternoon tee times. The course will reopen to the members after 4pm on Tuesday, July 13. Come out and watch some of the best professionals and amateur golfers in Georgia play your course! Men’s Berkeley Classic RecapWe had another great field for the 2021 Berkeley Classic! Congratulations to Bubba Gwyn and Brian Kelleher for their victory in the Gross Division. Bubba & Brian shot a fantastic score of 63 on Sunday to come back from the middle of the
pack. David Haas and Robbie Haverstick won the Net Championship after winning a two-hole playoff against Ryan Pearcy & Dean Waters. Thank you to everyone who played in this fun event!

Senior Golf is growing both at Berkeley and the North Atlanta Senior Men’s Golf Association:With 50 year old Phil Mickelson winning the 103rd PGA Championship and setting a new record. The North Atlanta Senior Men’s Golf Association reported 126 new members have joined already this year bring their total membership to 826 from the 17 participating country clubs. The Berkeley Senior Men’s Golf Association members are in the top 6 in membership. This surge in members became evident when the White Columns tournament was sold out the first
day it was opened. White Columns expanded the number of players and most everyone on the waiting list got to play. The previous tournament at Woodmont was also full, but most signups from other participating clubs got to play as the organizers asked their members not to sign up on the NASMGA website. They kept a separate list and only added their members to fill the remaining vacancies or last minute cancellations. The next tournament is at Fairways of Canton and
signups are scheduled to open Sunday, May 30, 2021
NASMGA Tournament Schedule – 3rd tournament on May 24 at White Columns CC:The format for this tournament was ABCD one low gross and one low net on each hole. Seven Berkeley Seniors signed
up to play in this event and four of them won prizes. Harvey Gammon, Barry Lakas and team mates came in 3rd place.

Berkeley wins the second match against Crooked Creek on May 5:Berkeley makes a strong comeback to win the second match and put us on the positive side of this season scoring 13 to 5. Captain Barry Lakas reported “Notable performances were Tom Harvey/Mark Barnes taking 2.5 points, with Ken Weil/Dean Nejame, Bob Beebe/Ken Jordan, and Dave Ferrari/John Cahill taking all of their points. We are now in a tight division
race with all teams at 19 to 20 points. Thanks to co-captain Ed Odmark for captaining in my absence.”

Red, White & Blue Flag Day Team events will be held on Thursday, 7/1 and Saturday, 7/3. Each day will be a different format! You do not have to play both days to enjoy the fun.

Players of all levels are welcome to participate! The groups will meet 3 times per week some weeks on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Some sessions are just Tuesday and Thursday. See the schedule below. Fridays will be reserved for the make-up day due to inclement weather.
