Telemedicine comes to Airdrie

It is 2019 and the health [or better yet sick] care system continues to suffer fromrising costs and diminishing value. Are you tired of the status quo youexperience daily? Have you had enough of the daily struggles trying to helpyour patients only to have them show up back in your office or ER several timesfor the same reason? Do you wish you could access a specialist when it reallymatters to your patients? Shouldn't we by now have moved the needle on ruralspecialty care?

For the past 18 months, the Highland PCN has been once again at the forefrontof innovation tackling key obstacles to care by forming strongcollaborations. Local cardiologists Drs. H. Banijamali and C. Mason will movepast clichés and introduce the fundamentals of an innovative model for thespecialty care of Chronic Disease. Join us for dinner and an engagingconversation:

When: Wednesday, June 12, 2019Time: 5:30pmWhere: Days Inn and Suites, 911 Highland Park Cove NE, Airdrie

It is time to utilize a disruptive lens and leverage the growing power of virtualcare through new telemedicine technology, taking the focus away from thelarge centres and back onto the patients, the communities they feel morecomfortable in, and the local care providers most familiar with the patients. It istime to move past anachronistic models of specialty care that feeds thepersistently long wait times, reduction in the patient and provider experience, and contributes to the continuing decline in value for the money spent. We canhave more “Health” and less Healthcare by shaking things up from the groundand doing something completely different!
