fered and interpreted for the
deaf.
When you think of Christ-
mas, do you often find your
self singing “Toyland, Toy-
land, little girl and boy
land…”. Many people do,
thanks to the music of Victor
Herbert and the classic story
“Babes in Toyland”. The
Colonnade Players, in asso-
ciation with The Dramatic
Publishing Company, will be
bringing the classic to life on
The Colonnade Stage this
November.
Director Heidi Riddle returns
to the helm to direct the
cast of 20 local adults and
children in a retelling of the
beloved story of the evil plot
of Uncle Barnaby to turn
children into toys in the
hopes of becoming Santa’s
biggest toy supplier.
Libretto and lyrics are
adapted by Ruth Perry with
Ann Smit and Susan Carle
from the original operetta
by Victor Herbert and Glen
MacDonough into a story
that appeals to all ages.
See the story through to its
conclusion with the March
of the Wooden Soldiers, the
arrival of Santa and the
magic of Christmas leaving
you singing “Hail to Christ-
mas, joyous Christmas”.
Shows will be held Novem-
ber 14, 15, 21 & 22, 2014 at
