Loudoun e-Edition informs Girl Scouts and their leaders of opportunities that are available in Loudoun, Fauquier, and Northern Prince William counties. Many of these opportunities come from within Associations 70 and 90. However, there may be opportunities available by outside vendors and may require Council approval. GSCNC has not inspected these programs or vendors and there are no GSCNC representatives at these events. Goose Creek and Piedmont programs and GSCNC events that have low enrollment may also be listed.

Annual Meeting The Annual Meeting is April 13, 2013 at the National Conference Center in Leesburg VA. There will be vendor tables, staff exhibits, and a Girl Scout Super Shop. Teen troops can display projects, present an exhibit, or have a money-earning project. Training includes Brownie Program Level, Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Roundtable, Gold Award Roundtable, Junior Program Level, Multi-Level Troop Management, and Planning Session. Girl Scouts Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors! Our local Loudoun County teen Girl Scout group, LoCAS is in the process of planning its Annual Precious Metals Awards Banquet for Sunday, May 19. The Banquet is for girls who have earned their Silver, Silver Trefoil, or Gold Award, or are Graduating Seniors this Girl Scout year. Keys to Leadership is March 9 The Keys to Leadership Adult training is March 9, 2013 at American University from 1:00—4:00 pm. The program cost is $10. The afternoon will be spent exploring best practices for engaging girls with disabilities in Girl Scouts, including accommodating girls with behavioral disabilities in a troop setting, disability etiquette and terminology, and encouraging your troop to be accepting of all girls. Filmmaker Dan Habib, creator of Including Samuel and I am Norm will be present as we view and discuss his latest film “Who Cares About Kelsey?” which examines methods for engaging children with behavioral/emotional disabilities.
