La ricerca ha chiarito come la luce influenzi lo sviluppo delle piante e ha definito scientificamente i parametri necessari a favorire i processi foto-biologici. Lo sviluppo corretto della pianta si ottiene quando avvengono in modo equilibrato i due processi che compongono la fotosintesi clorofilia-na: la respirazione della pianta e la fotosintesi.
