________________What is GOPORT?The editors of GOPORT have a heart for God. We realize that all our life is in His hands, and He is the reason we are alive. GOPORT is about turning art – or, more specifically, fashion – into praise. We hope to glorify the God of the universe in the industry we love. Fashion should not be used in rebellion or self-glorification under the guise of being artistic, which is wholly disrespectful to the art; it should be used to artistically cultivate oneself and the wardrobe into excellence.

Beauty Sparkle, sparkle!

The minute you reach into your purse to find some purple and/or pink eyeshadow,

do not hesitate to try this makeup look. If you don't have either of those, buy them! This look was done with a light pastel with sparkle, such

as a white or nude. Then, the purple was applied with a makeup sponge along the outer eye, up close to the bone. After that, the pink shadow is applied to the inner part of the eye. Then, mascara the lashes, and you're finished!

Even though the summer sun brings to mind glowing skin and natural makeup, we have decided to honor bold lip-colors this season. Break out of your lipstick rut and try swiping on some deep-red or wine-colored purple! The beach won't care how your lips look!

Beachy Waves Can't make it to the beach this year, but still want to catch the wave? You're in luck! One of this year's hottest

summer trends is beachy, effortless, tousled hair. “But how can I obtain this effortless look without making it look like I just got out of bed?” You may ask. Well look no further!

GOPORT is here to show you a step-by-step, easy-on-your-budget way to get you in style!

Supplies you will need:

1) Aussie Sprunch (or any other type of spray gel) 2) Surf Hair by Garnier Fructis (or any other styling

paste) 3) blow dryer (optional)

Step One I am going to teach you how to get awesome, textured hair in a matter of minutes! First, spray your dry hair all over with the Aussie Sprunch hair spray/fixative.

Make sure that you get the spray underneath, as well! While the hair is still moist from the spray, use your hands to sprunch in an upward direction while grabbing at your hair.

Step Two Now take some Surf Hair and run it through your hair with your fingers. You can even individually twist some parts of your hair to make it appear more natural.

Step Three (optional) Need more volume in your hair? You can always use a blow dryer with a diffuser to create that! Even if you don't have a diffuser, you can compromise by using your blow dryer on a low heat setting.

Now that you know how, get out there and make some waves! If you can't seem to make it work the first time, try other techniques such as sleeping with sprunching gel – such as Catwalk Curls Rock #5 - in your damp hair. It works out better if you don't use a straightener before attempting this.

Tips: Don't buy a product if you notice that its first ingredient is alcohol. Products such as this will dry out

your hair and take out its luster. Also, try not to apply too much product to your hair, because it will weigh your hair down and make it look greasy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inspiration

GOPORT interviewed guitar player Kaitlyn and found out what inspires her!

-----------------------------------------

1) Do you write your own songs? Yes. I do write my own songs.

2) How long have you been playing? I've been playing for about three years now. Sometimes it's on-and-off with my playing.

3)Where do you get your inspiration?Usually, when I get inspiration, it's late at night and I'll just sort of start singing and experimenting with sounds and something will come. When it comes, it may be a verse or a chorus; but then I write it in a book and later I'll find that other stuff I've written sounds good with it and then that sort of becomes a song.

4) Where do you expect your guitar-playing to take you in life?

Well, I expect to become the worship leader for our future home church. But, to be honest, I have no idea where it will take me. It will take me wherever God wants it to, I guess!

DEVOA Beautiful Life

by Christina Holt

The subject of beauty has become a central focal point in people's lives. We read about it, we watch television shows about it, and we consistently try new ways to improve our physical appearance everyday. Are these activities and wants bad? No, not necessarily. It has the potential to hinder us, however, is when our energy and attention is focused solely on our outward appearance. If we are not careful, we can lose sight of the need to tend to our spiritual and emotional states, which is the primary source of our beauty!

We see this explained in 1 Peter:“What matters is not your outer appearance – the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes – but your inner disposition. The holy women of God were beautiful before God that way...” (1 Peter 3:3-5, The Message)

Now, let's be clear – this is not to say that fashion and style or taking care of your physical appearance is sinful! It is good that we take care of ourselves, and fashion and style are creative ways in which we can express ourselves! We must simply keep them in perspective, realizing that it is our inner disposition that is most important. God looks at the heart. Above all else, we should be striving to please Him with who we are inside.

As we become more like Christ in the way we live, our inner beauty will be increasingly magnified. This type of beauty is undeniable and will not fade with age. It is also more powerful than the world's definition of beauty in that nothing proves the authenticity and truth of the gospel more than a changed life.

In his words to Timothy, Paul wrote, “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12 (The Message)

We should make every effort to be a godly example in what we say, in how we live, in the way we love, in the measure of our faith, and in our purity. People exemplify true beauty when they're working in tune with God's plan. Live to please God. Let His approval be what you never cease striving for. ~GP~

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God,

And the Word was God. He existed from the Beginning with God.

God created everything through Him,And nothing was created except through Him.

The Word gave life to everything that was created, And His life brought light to everyone.

The light shines in the darkness, and theDarkness can never extinguish it.” - John 1:1-5
