I want to wish a happy autumn to all alumni, and a special wel-come to the Class of 2015. As the leaves begin to turn and a chill hits the air, the Alumni Association turns its attention to our signature event of the year, Homecoming Weekend, October 2-4. This year’s Homecoming promises to be another fantastic occasion for revisiting your alma mater, reconnecting, and networking. There have been so many changes on campus in recent years. If you haven’t been back in a while you will be amazed.

The holidays are also right around the corner and this is a great opportunity to participate in the Alumni Association’s Amazon Asso-ciates program. When you shop online using the special link on the Alumni Website (wne.edu/alumni), every purchase you make helps fund Alumni Association grants to student programs at Western New England University—at no additional cost to you. Between the Amazon.com program and the Association’s royalty/affinity program with Liberty Mutual Home and Auto Insurance, thousands of dollars

make their way back to the students via the Alumni Association Grants Program. In the past eight years, the Alumni Association has awarded more than $313,000 in grants.

Finally, we are always looking for help from our alumni as students are choosing their career paths. We have opportunities for you to be a mentor and/or host an intern at your place of busi-ness and give a student exposure to what they can expect in a chosen field. If you are interested, please send an email to [email protected].

Congratulations to all of the new members to the Alumni Association Board of Directors— a great group of people working together to make sure you have the best alumni experience possible. If you’d like to become part of the team, email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to help you find a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule and interests.

See you at Homecoming!

WNEK Goes Digital!Did you know that while WNEK has gone off the air-

waves, it’s now streaming its 24/7 broadcasts online? This change improves the ease of access for students, who can now listen to the station on their laptops, and for alumni, who can tune in from anywhere in the world.

“The switch to live streaming is best for both the organization, and the students who put in the time and effort to provide strong programming

throughout the school year,” explained Senior Advisor John Connolly. “WNEK can reach anyone, anywhere, and anytime through live streaming. It’s still

WNEK, just an easier way to listen for students, friends, family, and alumni.”

Please send nominations via mail or email to:

The 2015 Engineering Hall of Fame inductee was healthcare technology entrepreneur Terry A. Fuller ’70, pictured at center with College of Engineering Dean S. Hossein Cheraghi (left) and President Anthony S. Caprio.

Prior to Western New England, Snediker served as field hockey and lacrosse assistant coach at Williams College, as well as coaching field hockey and lacrosse at her alma mater, Greenwich (CT) Academy.

“The Western New England Way really resonates with my

coaching philosophy. In particular, my commitment

to supporting student-athletes in all areas of their lives,

not just field hockey,” Snediker stated.

Alumni Association Elections: Seven Chosen for Board of Directors Positions
