India: Democracy

1. India 2. Democracy. It is a sovereign secular democratic republic

with a parliamentary system of government. 3. The chief of state is President Pratibha Patel and the

head of government is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. 4. The president is the head of the executive union. The

real executive power is with the Council of Ministers headed by the Prime Minister. The Council of Ministers is responsible to the House of the People. They promote international peace and protect the citizens.

5. Freedom of conscience and freedom to profess, practice and propagate religion; the right to conserve their culture, language or script; and the right of minorities to establish educational institutions. Universal suffrage.

and the chief of state is president Hu Jinato. The president represents the country to the outside world.

4. All of the power belongs to the people and they exercise their power through the National People’s Congress. The National People’s Congress interprets the constitution and reviews local regulations.
