1. Industrial Training Institutes (I.T.I.s)

a) The Industrial Training Institutes popularly known as I.T.I.s were

established to ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades

for the domestic industry, to raise the industrial production quantitatively

and qualitatively by systematic training, to reduce unemployment among

the educated youth by providing the employable training, to cultivate and

nurture a technical and industrial attitude in the minds of younger

generation.

b) Industrial Training Institutes play a vital role in economy of the country

especially in terms of providing skilled manpower.

c) I.T.I.simpartVocational Training in various Engineering and Non-

Engineering Trades underCraftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) to produce

skilled manpower required for industries. The syllabi of various trades are

formulated by Director General of Training (DGT), New Delhi under

Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of

India

d) In Telangana state, there are 54 Govt. I.T.I.s and 222 Private

I.T.I.simparting training in various Trades affiliated toNational Council for

Vocational Training (NCVT). Please refer Annexure-I for list of ITIs.

e) There are 10 Govt. I.T.I.simparting training under State Council for

Vocational Training (SCVT) pattern.

f) In the state of Telangana, the Training is imparted to the I.T.I. Traineesin

25Engineering and 10 Non- Engineering trades with four Semesters (two

years) and two Semesters (one year) duration. Please refer Annexure-II

for list of Trades.

g) About 70% of the training period is allotted to practical training and the

rest to theoretical training relating to Trade theory, Workshop Calculation

& Science, Engineering Drawing, Employability Skills, Libraryand Extra

CurricularActivities etc.

2. Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS)

a) The Government of India introduced the Craftsmen Training Scheme

(CTS) in 1950 to ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades

for the domestic industry. The objectives of CTS are

i) To equip the human resource with appropriate skills required in the

industries and other service sectors.

ii) To make the youth more productive by providing them employable

skills to achieve wage benefits as well as self-employment

iii) To produce highly skilled craftsmen for the industry.

iv) To ensure steady flow of skilled workers for industrial / Service

sectors.

v) To raise the quality and quantity of industrial production by

systematic training of potential workers.

3. National Council for Vocational Training(NCVT)

a) Ministry of Labour & Employment has constituted a tripartite body at the

National level namely National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) to

advise the Union Government on training policies,norms and standards,

trade testing and certification...

b) The Candidates, admitted in the trades which are affiliated to NCVT, will

be issued National Trade Certificate in concerned Trades, after passing the

All India Trade Test (AITT).

4. State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT)

a) The state council which is affiliated to NCVT, functions as a state agency

to advice the state government, in carrying out the training policies laid

down by the National Council and to coordinate the vocational training

programme throughout the state.

b) The Candidates, admitted in the trades which are not affiliated to

NCVT, will be issued a certificate by State Council and they will be eligible

to appear the All India Trade Test (AITT) as private candidates under

NCVT.

5. Online Admissions into I.T.I.s:

a) Government have permitted the Director, Employment and Training,

Telangana, Hyderabad to make admissions into Government and Private

Industrial Training Institutes through onlinevide G.O.Rt.No.311, LET&F

Department dt.29-04-2017.

b) Accordingly, a notification is issued for admissions into Government and

Private I.T.I.s in Telangana State under NCVT pattern.

6. Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Admissions into I.T.I.s:

a) Candidate shall be an Indian National.

b) Candidates should have passed S.S.C. Examination conducted by State

Board of SecondaryEducation, Telanganaor any other examination

recognized as equivalent such as Central Board of Secondary

Education(CBSE), Indian Council for Secondary Education(ICSE), National

Institute of Open School (NIOS), Telangana Open School Society (TOSS),

A.P. Open School Society (APOSS) and X class examination conducted by

various State Boards of Secondary Education in India.

c) The candidates who have passed 8th class are also eligible for admission

into certain Trades i.e.Painter General, Wireman, Carpenter, Mason

(Building Constructor), Sheet Metal Worker and Welder subject to the

condition that if 10th class passed/ failed candidates are not available.

d) Candidates who have attained the age of 14 years as on 01-08-2017 are

eligible. However, there is no upper age limit.

7. General Instructions to the Applicants:

a) Single online application is adequate to apply for admissions into any of

the Government and Private I.T.I.s in Telangana State. Physical form of

application need not be submitted.

b) After applying online, the options also need to be exercised in online.

c) However, mere applying does not entitle any right for the candidate to be

considered for admission unless he/she satisfies all other conditions

prescribed for the purpose.

d) The detailed program of admission will be notified in the leading

newspapers. Program of Admission will also be available in the website

and in all the Government I.T.I.s. Candidates are advised to watch for the

same.

e) Candidates will be familiarized with the web counseling/Online Admissions

procedure and the relevant information with regard to the seats open

/Trades/Institutes are available in the website.

f) The schedule for Verification of certificates will be communicated through

SMS to the Registered Mobile and Email of the candidate. However this

schedule will also be available in the website. Separate call letters will not

be sent to the candidates for verification.

g) At the end of admission process, no request for change of Trade / I.T.I. is

permissible.

h) For any assistance, it is advised to contact helpline.

8. How to Apply for Admissions into I.T.I.s:

a) The candidates are advised to read all the instructions carefully.

b) The candidates shall keep Aadhaar Card, Candidate Mobile Number,

Candidate E-mail Address, Scanned copy of latest passport size

Photograph, SSC memo or its equivalent, Caste Certificateand other

certificates if any etc. ready before Appling for ITI admission.

c) The process of submitting application comprises ofthe following steps.

i) Registration (Creating Login ID and Password)

ii) Filling of online Application.

iii) Exercising options for ITI and Trade.

iv) Verification of Certificates

d) Visit Website“https://iti.telangana.gov.in”

e) Click on “STUDENT LOGIN”.

f) Click on “NEW APPLICANT”. (If already registered click on “ALREADY REGISTERED”)

g) Enter Mobile number and E-mail ID to register.

h) Password will be sent via SMS to the Registered Mobile Number & E-mail,

immediately, it should not be shared to others under any circumstances.

i) Mobile Number will be the Candidate’s Login Idto submit online Admission

application.

j) After logging in, click on“Apply”.

k) For “Qualification” entry, select appropriately from the drop downs (10th

Pass or 10th Fail or 8th Pass).

l) Select Name of the Board, Month & Year of passingfrom drop downs.Then

enter Hall Ticket Numberwhich may capture all the details from the

existing Data base. (All Subjects Marks/Grade Points, Name, Father name,

Mother name, Gender and Date of Birth etc.)

m) Owing to any reasons, if the details are not captured from the database,

enter all the above details in the Online Application form.

n) Upload scanned copy of latest passport size photo.

o) Enter Aadhaar Number, address and other details.

p) Select the Reservation Details from drop downs.

Religion (Hindu/Muslim/Christian/Sikh/Jain/Buddhist/Zorastrian)

q) After entering the above details, click on “View& Save”.

r) The candidates are instructed to get a “Print-out” of filled online

application and ensure that the particulars are correct in all respects

before final submission. If any of the particulars are found incorrect, edit

the application, accordingly by using “Edit” option.

s) After successful submission of Application,the candidate will be allowed to

submit options for selecting ITI and Trade in preferential order. Please

click on “Seats Open”on the menu bar of the website for the seats

openfor the session August 2017 in various ITIs.

t) Candidates are advised to prepare a set of ITI–Trade combinations (called

“Options”) in preferential order as many options as desired, manually on a

paper. Further they are advised to consult their parents, teachers and

others,before preparing such options.

u) The order of options so prepared is to be entered in the website through

candidate’s login only. Candidates are advised to enter any number

of options in preferential order to avoid disappointment of not

getting a seat.

v) A print out of the options so entered shall be kept as record for reference.

w) Options recorded on the last day of the schedule given for web-counseling

will be frozen. Theseats will be allocated strictly basing on the merit-cum-

reservation and options exercised subject to eligibility in other respects.

9. Verification of Certificates:

a) Candidates shall attend for verification at any one of the Verification

Centers as per schedule with printout of Online Application alongwith all

original certificates and documents at their own cost. The list of

Verification centers is at Annexure III.

b) The physically handicapped candidates have to attend for Verification

with all original certificates and documents including Physical

Handicapped Certificate in the prescribed formatat any of the Two

Verification Centers i.e., Govt ITI Warangal and Govt ITI Mallepally

Hyderabad, as per the schedule specified for Physically Handicapped

Candidates.Only after verification of the physical ability of the candidate,

the trades for which he/she is eligible for admission will be determined.

c) There is an exception in submitting the original Transfer

Certificate (TC) for verification purpose. However, theOriginal

Transfer Certificate need to be submitted within a week from the date of

Admission, failing which the provisional admission granted will be

automatically cancelled without any notice and the resulting vacancy will

be filled with other eligible candidate.

d) The Verification Officer is fully empowered to disqualify a candidate

seeking admission, if he fails to submit all the original certificates. The

decision of Verification Officer is final, in this regard.

e) Candidates who fail to turn up for the Verification of Certificates on the

notified date and timein the schedule prescribed, will have no claim on

the admission into I.T.I.s.

f) After completion of verification, the candidates are advised to collect

back all original certificates from the Verification Officer.

g) Candidates attending for Certificates verification have to bring

the following certificates, which are relevant to them in original

for verification purpose along with two sets of attested copies.

i) “SSC Memo Marks”or its equivalent Examination (Long memo only).

However, for the candidates appeared in March 2017 examinations,

short memo will be allowed, if long memo has not been issued.

ii) “Caste Certificate” from Revenue Authorities, issued by officers

not below the rank of Tahsildar in respect of BC, SC and ST

candidates as per proforma given in Annexure-IV. The details of

sub-caste and Serial number of the caste in the groups of BC / SC

and ST are to be given in the Certificate.

iii) “Date of Birth Certificate” showing the Date of Birth for the

candidates who have not passed SSC and passed VIII class.

iv) “Bonafide Certificate” (Certificate of study) for the entire period of

education from Class IV to X to determine Local or Non-Local.

v) “Certificate of Residence” [as per the format atAnnexure-V] for

the candidates who appeared for the qualifying examination

privately 7 years immediately preceding the date of commencement

of relevant qualifying examination he/ she first appeared is to be

produced from an Officer of Revenue Department not below the rank

of TAHSILDAR.

vi) “Physically Handicapped Certificate” in the format given in

Annexure-VI, issued by State/District Medical Board in case of

Physical handicapped candidate (Vide G.O.Ms.No.109, Women’s

Development, Child Welfare & Labour Department, Dt.15-6-1992).

vii) “Parent’s Discharge Certificate” from service in case of Ex-

Servicemen and Service Certificate in case of serving personnel from

competent authority. (at Annexure-VII)

viii) “Conduct Certificate” from the Head of the Institution where last

studied.

ix) “Income Certificate” issued by Tahasildar in 2017 for those who

are eligible and intend to claim Fee Reimbursement.

10. Rejection of Candidature:

a) The applicant’s candidature is liable for rejection on the following grounds:

i) If the candidate submits incomplete application.

ii) If the candidate furnishes false or incorrect information

iii) If the candidate fails to satisfy the conditions of eligibility

iv) If the candidate do not exercise the options online.

v) If the candidate fails to report at Verification Center as per the

schedule.

b) In case the application is rejected, no correspondence will be entertained.

11. Reservation of seats:

The mode of “Seats Allocation” will be based on “Merit-cum-Reservation” as

per the rules in force.

a) Local Reservation:In the Admissions into I.T.I.s, 85% (Eighty Five

Percent) of the seats in each Trade will be reserved in favour of the Local

Candidates only. However, the remaining 15% seats will be filled by open

competition in which both Local and Non-Local candidates are eligible.

b) Caste Reservations: Reservation of seats in favour of SC/ST/BCA/

BCB/BCC/BCD/BCE Candidates shall be made in non-minority and other

than special category institutions as per the following percentages.

SC-15%, ST-6%, BCA-7%, BCB-10%, BCC-1%, BCD-7% andBCE-

4%

c) Women Reservation: 33.33% of total seats in all non-minority Co-

Educational institutions are reserved for women candidates in

eachreservation category. If sufficient numbers of candidates are not

available to fill the seats reserved for women, they will be offered to the

boys of the same category.

However ..

i) Only women candidates are admitted in Government I.T.I.(Girls)

Mahabubnagar and QQS I.T.I. (Gilrs) Santhoshnagar, Hyderabad.

ii) Only boys are admitted inGovt ITI Hathnoora, Sangareddy District

and Govt ITI Bhadrachalam, BhadradriKothagudem District.

d) Physically Handicapped Reservation:Reservation of seats to the extent of

3% for Physically Handicapped candidates. However, the right of

admission in to I.T.Is/Trades is based on the fitness of the candidate. The

decision of the Department authorities final in this regard.

e) Ex-Serviceman Reservation:Reservation of seats to the extent of 2%for

the children of Ex-Servicemen and defence personnel including Border

Security Force and Central Reserve Police, subject to the condition that …

i) Candidates whose parents are domicile of Telangana based on

permanent address/hometown declared by them while joining the

service and as recorded in their service register.

ii) The candidate shall also submit a certificate from the Director,

Sainik Welfare Board / ZillaSainik Welfare Board as to their

eligibility to be considered under this quota specifying the category

to which the applicant belongs with attested copies of the

documentary evidence for claim as given in Annexure–VIII.

iii) The decision of T.S. Sainik Board or its nominee is final and

binding on the Candidates in this regard.

f) Reservation in Special Category I.T.I.s:

i) In Government I.T.I. (Girls) Mahabubnagarseats are filled as per

the below mentioned reservation percentages.

SC-60%, ST-10%, BCC–10%,

BCA/BCB/BCD/BCE–10% &OC-10%

ii) In Government I.T.I. Hathnoora, Dt:Sangareddy seats are filled as

per the below mentioned reservation percentages.

SC-60%, ST-10%, BCA/BCB/BCC/BCD/BCE –10%& OC-20%

iii) In the following Four Government I.T.I.s the reservation for filling

the seats is ST- 90% and OC-10%.

g) Reservation in Minority I.T.I.s :

i) Government I.T.I. (M) Bodhan: 100% seats reserved to all minority

Categories (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist and Parsi) and

admissions are allowed through online only.

ii) Private Minority I.T.I.s: 100% seats reserved to the respective

minority category, and admissions are allowed through online only.

12) Mode of Seats Filling

a) Admissions into I.T.I.s will be allowed as per the rules in vogue and

subject to any amendments issued by Government of Telangana from

time to time

b) All candidates are eligible to compete for Open competition (OC) seats and they will

be filled first followed by the seats earmarked for reservation categories.

c) If sufficient number of women candidates are not available to fill up seats reserved

for women category, they will be filled by conversion to General of respective

reservation category.

d) If sufficient number of candidates of any particular group of Backward Classes

namely, A,B,C,D & E are not available to fill up seats reserved for that group, they

may be filled by conversion to other BC groups as per rules in vogue in the order of

merit. If the required numbers of candidates are not available from all five groups,

the unfilled seats will be added to general pool of the local area.

e) If sufficient numbers of candidates are not available to fill seats reserved for

Scheduled Tribe, they may be filled by suitable candidates from Scheduled Caste

and Vice-versa. If the required numbers of candidates are not available from both

categories, the unfilled seats will be added to general pool of the local area.

f) The Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Castes/Backward Class candidates seeking admission

shall produce Community Certificate in the prescribed Proforma as given in

Annexure - I.

g) The candidates claiming themselves as SC/ST/BC candidates and who do not

submitsuch valid certificates in the prescribed form or submit those certificates in

improper form will not be considered as SC/ST/BC candidates (as the case may be).

They will be treated as OC candidates only.

h) The caste claims of BC/SC/ST candidates are subject to verification and report by

Commissioner of Backward Classes Welfare / Director of Social Welfare / Director of

Tribal Welfare respectively. The admission of the candidates is provisional till the

genuineness of the claim of BC / SC / ST candidates is certified by the above said

respective authorities.

i) In respect of seats reserved under Institute Management Committee (IMC) quota, a

separate notification will be issued and the seats will be filled at respective

Government I.T.I.s only by the IMC.

13) Fee Details :

a) At the time of admission, the selected candidate shall pay Tuition Fee and

Caution Money Deposit as applicable.

*20% seats are reserved for Institute Management Committee (IMC) quota in

certain Govt I.T.I.s covered under PPP scheme. For admission into IMC quota seats,

the Tuition Fee will be collected as decided by the respective IMCs.

b) However, the Tuition fee and Caution Money Deposits chargeable in all

Government and Private I.T.I.swill be subject to revision by the

Government from time to time.

c) Candidates belonging to SC / ST (indicated by Government) categories

will be exempted from payment of Tuition Fee, in case the income of their

parents is within the prescribed limit of Rs.2,00,000/- per annum and a

certificate issued by the concerned M.R.O. is to be produced to that effect.

d) The candidates who are exempted from payment of fee have to apply for

fee reimbursement through online. However, the orders issued by the

Government in this regard from time to time shall apply.

e) Candidates belonging to SC / ST (indicated by Government) categories

will be exempted from payment of Caution Money Deposit.

f) Govt. have decided to link the scholarship applications with the aadhaar

number for effecting the cash transfer scheme. For this every student

must furnish the aadhaar number vide Govt. Memo no. 16635/sw. Edn.

2/2012-4, dated 29-12-2012.

14) Reporting for Admission:

a) The Provisional Allotment of Trade and I.T.I is intimated to the candidates

register mobile and email address. The same information will also be

available on the website.

b) Separate Seat Allotment Letter / Intimation Letters will not be

sent to the candidates.

c) Candidates shall download the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter from the

website through individual login

d) Candidates shall report at the allotted I.T.I. along with the Provisional

Allotment Letter and all original certificates within the prescribed time.

e) The candidate shall also pay the prescribed tuition fee of Rs.7700/- per

annum, if he is admitted into Private I.T.I.
