2. Electrical Safety Week
Government Polytechnic Nashik in association
with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution
company limited celebrated safety week.
➢ The safety week is celebrated to
educate the citizens about the best
practices while dealing with electricity –
be it the overhead electricity lines or
even the regular use of switches in the
house or industry, etc. Also to know the
importance of using ISI marked
electrical equipment, importance of
equipment earthing and avoiding
overload of electric circuits, among
other things. With an aim of reducing
electrical accidents across the state.
➢ Electrical Department of Government
Polytechnic Nashik also actively
participated in the celebration of
electrical safety week. Students from
department went door to door educating
people about importance of ISI marked
electrical equipment, importance of
equipment earthing and conservation of
energy. Poster competition and essay
writing competition was also held at the
department.

Students Activities
Achievements of students from Department of
Electrical in terms of academics, sports, project
competitions, social gathering.
➢ One project group “wireless power
transfer to electric car while in motion
through solar roads” from third year
was participated for DIPEX 2018 under
the guidance of Mr. Bodke M. P. held
at sangli. This was a new concept
where problem of depleting natural
resources was handled along with
removing limitation of stopping vehicle
for charging of batteries.
➢ Sweta Raut Scored 96.12% in Third
year Electrical and stood 1st in
Government Polytechnic Nashik. Also
13 students from third year Electrical
have scored more than 90 % marks.
Department of electrical has got
highest result in institute for the
summer2018.
➢ Akanksha and mayuri students from
Second year electrical got 1st prize for
Circuit Mania held at JET Engineering
College.
➢ Yash and Aditya Students from
Second year Electrical got 1st prize for
Slide Master held at JET Engineering
College.
Summer 18

➢ Department of Electrical along with TPO of GP Nashik provided a very good opportunity
to students to get placements at Industries like General Electric, Larsen and Toubro,
Bajaj Electric, Tata Motors etc. About 15 students are placed in these companies.
➢
➢ Yash and Aditya Students from
Second year electrical got 1st prize for
poster presentation held at Sandip
Foundation Polytechnic Nashik.
➢ Yash and Aditya Students from
Second year electrical got 1st prize for
poster presentation held at Matoshri
polytechnic Nashik.
➢ Most of Students from Department
went for Vacational Industrial training
at various industries like Traction
Machine Workshop, Nashik, Bhusawal,
Motwane industry, Thermal power
plant Nashik, MSEDCL Sinnar etc.

Industrial Visits
Industrial visit is considered as one of the tactical
methods of teaching. The main reason behind this,
it lets student to know things practically through
interaction, working methods and employment
practices.
➢ Department of Electrical Engineering
has organized an industrial visit of
Thermal Power Station, Nashik for 2nd
year students. 61 students along with 3
faculties are visited the plant. The visit
was very fruitful as students observed
each of energy conversion stages used
in power plant starting from fuel section
to switch yard.
➢ Industrial visit of third year electrical
students was organized to Railway
Signaling system at Nashik Road
Railway station. Students got practical
knowledge of how to direct railway traffic
and keep trains clear of each other at all
times, how trains move on fixed rails,
making them uniquely susceptible
to collision.
➢ Students from first year electrical visited
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Rural Development
Institute & Water Purification Plant at
Nashik under the course Environmental
studies. Here students got actual
demonstration of Bio-gas Power plant,
Polyhouse, oil Extracting machine &
Water purification process.
➢

➢ Students from Second year electrical
visited Traction Machine Workshop,
Nashik Road. The visit was very much
knowledgeable as students got practical
exposure to maintenance of DC and
Induction motors. They also observed
various parts of DC and induction motor.
➢ Industrial visit of third year Electrical
students was organized to ABB at
ambad Nashik. Here students acquire
knowledge about detailed switchgear
manufacturing process and production
plant. Students also saw the
demonstration of switchgear model
room.

Expert Lectures
Expert Lecturer with proven expertise in a topic adds
credibility to our content. Hearing new voices provides
students not only with different points-of-view, but also with
potential resources they can apply in later courses.
➢ Department of Electrical Engineering
has organized an expert lecture on
Cyber Securities for students from
electrical. Cyber crime has grown at
such a rapid rate that it is now an
issue; everyone should constantly be
monitoring and managing. Students
got knowledge about how to keep
ourselves safe from cyber crimes.
➢ As Electrical Safety plays a very
important role in electrical engineers
life hence Expert lecture on
‘ELECTRICAL SAFETY’ by Er.
Joglekar madam & Er. P. L. Gade
(Addl. Executive Engineer MSEDCL
Training and safety department
Nashik) was organized for second and
third year students.
➢ Expert lecture on ‘MODERN TRENDS IN
SWITCHGEAR’ BY Mr. Nilesh Lokhande
was organized for third year students to
get aware of recent development in
Switchgear Technology. His troughs lights
on Developments in HV/EHV Breakers,

Workshop on PLC &
SCADA
A workshop is a great way for someone to learn about a
particular subject, new projects. Attending workshops can
help students achieve success in their academic
environment by putting these skills into practice.
➢ The main objective of this WORKSHOP
is to make the aspiring engineers
acquainted with the conceptual as well
as practical knowledge of the Industrial
Automation & latest technologies being
used to achieve industrial automation.
The idea of organizing this workshop is
to inculcate the basic fundamentals of
automation in the students and provide
them with a platform to work on, In The
Near Future.
