characteristicsThe antimicrobial effect of silver has been known for many centuries.
The logical consequence is to use these special properties for powder
coated surfaces as well in order to achieve long-term
antimicrobial protection. IGP partner SANITIZED AG
has been able to successfully prevent the growth of
bacteria and fungi on the organic coating through a
special substance combination of silver ions. As a perma-
nent material component, Sanitized® Silver prevents strong
germ growth between cleaning cycles and guarantees low bacterial
attack in the long run. Hence, IGP-DURA®care surfaces are an ideal
complement to regular disinfection measures (see chart 1).
The foundation for successfully fighting germ growth consists of three
action mechanisms:
– blockage of primary cell metabolism
– stoppage of cellular respiration
– prevention of cell division.
These three mechanisms prevent the growth of undesired micro-orga-
nisms on surfaces. The substance combination is activated by moisture
(air) and develops its antimicrobial effect. Existing bacteria are continu-
ously inactivated through the Sanitized® hygiene function. This means
the surface is kept clean (see chart 2).
The Sanitized® Silver technology is preserved in the article over its
lifetime, which makes a continuous, long-lasting effect possible. That
way, depending on the environmental conditions, you will have an
antimicrobial protected IGP-DURA®care surface for many years.
IGP-DURA®care is an innovative product from IGP Pulvertechnik with a broad range of antimicrobial effects. IGP-DURA®care coatings provide lasting and efficient protection against microbial contamination of powder coated surfaces.

SafetyIGP-DURA®care powder varnishes are subject to an annual
quality control. The effectiveness of IGP-DURA®care was
confirmed in an impressive way in a variety of tests. Numerous test
germs were demonstrably reduced by up to 99.99% in just a short
time.
The good effectiveness of the product series IGP-DURA®care 32 /
IGP-DURA®care 71 against multi-resistant germs has been proven
successfully. We are glad to provide the detailed test results in our
technical documentation. Furthermore, it is also possible to test the
effectiveness of your end products for a fee.
The product solutions are also resistant to disinfectants to the same
extent. Both systems indicated no adverse effects to the surface in
connection with the disinfectants that were tested by us. Other tests
with additional test germs are also possible on request.
