Grade K Week 27 Remote Lesson: Flying This week in science students will explore how the forces of lift and thrust fight against the forces of gravity and drag to enable things to fly. Students will design and test different paper airplanes to create the best flyers. In order to achieve this goal we will have 3 parts of the lesson. Part One Watch your PS Science Instructor show how to make a paper airplane: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3tmf8py187y29l3/K27Flying.mp4?dl=0 To make a paper airplane, you will need: Paper (any kind, any size) Scissors (optional, to cut the paper if desired) After you’ve folded your airplane, fly it! How do you think that airplanes, birds, and other flying objects stay in the air? Part Two Listen to your PS Science Instructor read the book Building Vehicles that Fly: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e73qyof28hohg0t/vehiclesthatfly.mp4?dl=0 Check out this Nat Geo for Kids article about how airplanes fly: https://www.natgeokids.com/nz/discover/science/general-science/science-dr-karl-planes-fly/
