Introducing an integrated hardtop option available for Grady-White’s flag-ship cabin model, the 36' Express 360, offering even greater weather protection in this handsome, incredibly capable big water boat! Now boaters everywhere can enjoy an extended season of boating activities thanks to this enclosure and the 360’s temperature control system that functions like the heat pump in your home, warming the hardtop enclo-sure (and the cabin) in cool weather and providing air conditioning in the heat. “This new integrated hardtop enclo-sure is really an exciting, game-changing

option for this size boat, because it extends the boating season and makes boating more pleasurable than ever,” says Joey Weller, vice president of sales and marketing for Grady-White Boats. “The area around the helm is where everybody aboard naturally gathers, and this feature assures everyone is comfortable. Plus, we put the emphasis on safety. You won’t find better sightlines and visibility through the safety glass.”

Express 360 Integrated Hardtop Enclosure Option: A New Level of Comfort

Grady-White’s breakthrough 36' center console Canyon 366 draws rave reviews from everyone who steps aboard. We hear words like “versatile,” “family-friendly,” and “the best of both worlds,” confirming that the new Canyon 366 is in fact a different center console that offers unmatched fishing function and the 360º access of traditional center consoles plus a roomy console interior with the level of amenities and creature comforts you’d might expect in a cabin style boat. “You’ll first notice our T-top enclo-sure, a real evolution in center console

comfort and protection from the ele-ments for those around the helm,” says Grady-White’s Joey Weller. “And with the fantastic console interior, you get a really nice family boat without sacrific-ing one iota of fishing function.” Inside the lockable console you’ll quickly see why this Canyon model is so special. The console interior fea-tures a roomy stand-up shower area including a “hidden” head with stan-dard VacuFlush®, plus a galley with a refrigerator and nice deep stainless sink. A nearby area converts to a fresh-water shower with just a pull of a

heavy-duty shower curtain. An option-al microwave oven heats food and bev-erages. There’s a clever mirror that can hide an optional TV/DVD player, and a great quality sound system with MP3 and auxiliary sound connection. There is a berth with enough room for two that extends forward, with storage along the side, providing a place for a tired fisherman or a youngster to get some rest. A tinted rounded skylight and new-style side window give an airy, open feeling. “Consider the trademark SeaV2® ride, the new highly efficient power

option, and Grady-White’s hallmark safety features and incredible struc-ture. Then add in all the design inno-vations inspired by our customers and dealers,” says Weller. “Together with specifications like a 420-gallon fuel capacity, you have to conclude that the 366 is a super boat dedicated to fishermen with families.” Visit your Grady-White dealer to learn about the new Canyon 366 or any of our 25 models from 18-36 feet. There has never been a better time to buy!

Gradys, sample recipes and exchange boating tips. Next year’s Palooza will be held August 20-22, again at Knapps Narrows.

A big welcome to the Delmarva Grady-White Club, sponsored by Taylor Marine Center, Milford, DE, and Taylor Marine II, Ocean City, MD. Twenty-one owners of Gradys ranging from a 1972 Sportsman to the latest Express 330 attended the initial meeting. Officers are Frank Ortolani, president; Mel Fortney, vice president; David Green, treasurer; and Dirk Van Rees, secretary. Those interested in the club may con-tact [email protected].

ferry over to Ocracoke kept others busy, and the sunsets were beautiful. June saw the Seventh Annual Grady Ladies Fishing Tournament. A tough bite this year–only 10 fish brought to the weigh station after fishing both the upper and middle Chesapeake and the Eastern bays. Top prize went to Jeannette Hayden for her 3.53-lb. rock-fish; Maryanne Gomme took second with her 3.13-lb. rockfish. Wendy Hoop caught the largest perch and Lindsey Blum the largest spot. Rounding out the season was Grady Palooza II in August at the Knapps Narrows Marina and Inn. Despite beginning with small craft warnings, as the weather settled 19 boats and 64 members enjoyed the refreshing water and a rum punch happy hour. Frequent thunderstorms did not dampen party spirits. Coast Guard safety inspections on Saturday morning were followed by a catered dinner in the evening, and continued sporadic rain on Sunday kept everyone rafted up at the docks which gave every-one a chance to check out each other’s

The Chesapeake Bay Grady-White Club, sponsored by Tri-State Marine, Deale, MD, had a busy summer. In May, after a year of planning, Gary Reedy led four boats into the Chesapeake, then onto the waters of the Intracoastal Waterway to Coinjock, NC, and from there to Hatteras. They were joined by car trav-

eling members at a 7-bedroom ocean-front home across from Teachs Lair Marina–14 folks in all. Offshore fishing (complete with close encounter with an eight-foot shark!), plus surf and sound fishing were on the agenda. Sightseeing in Avon, putt-putt in Frisco, and a day

THE CAPE COD & ISLANDS GRADY GROUP, sponsored by Cataumet Boats, had a fun day in the sun July 12 on Bassett’s Island.

The Gulfstream Grady Group crossed the seas to the Bahamas in June. Nineteen boats cruised to Sunrise Resort & Marina in Lucaya, Grand Bahama Island for fishing and snorkeling. Story Teller captured the offshore award with a 30-lb. kingfish. Yellowfin, blackfin and skipjack tuna plus dolphin and barracuda also were prevailing species. Reef fishing provided consistent action, and Off Duty II pulled in a 13-lb. mutton for best of category. Yellowtail snap-per rounded out the table fare. Some group members enjoyed fantastic snorkeling at Peterson Cay. Robert Robbins reports that the resort had “great accommodations, great food and spirits, and wonderfully attentive staff.” Mariner Marine of Riviera Beach, FL sponsors this club.

The Lake Erie Grady-White Club reports the results of their June Grady-White Tournament. Blessed with fantastic weath-er, the walleye fishing was strong for most competitors and the waters off Lorain and Vermilion, OH, held some of the bigger migrating fish. Those with boats by the Lake Erie Islands had great fishing volume but not size. There were a number of first timers participating to compete for brag-ging rights. Tournament Champion was Bill Rauterhaus with 85.25 in.; second placewas Jason Brooks, 77.75 in.; and third, Rick Raup, 73.875 in.. Bill Rauterhaus caught longest walleye at 29 in.; and longest perch, Mike Manion, 11 in.. Paul Kolesar provid-ed excellent fish measuring skills and was a great steak griller! September. Ten boats and 32 mem-bers made the trip. The water was “flat as a flipper” to and from the event. The quest for wily Pacific salmon resulted with top honors going to Chris Carabini with an 11.5-lb. king, second place to Daniel Denny with a 5-lb. humpie, and third to Larry Post who netted an over 3-lb. silver. Fishing was tough, as only hatchery salmon are legal. The fun was easy, and folks enjoyed the area’s fine restaurants and a group meal at Harbourside. Thanks to Terry McCartney and Jacobsen’s Marine of Seattle, WA, for club support.

Thirty-one Tampa Bay Grady-White Club members, family and friends headed to Palm Island Resort, Cape Haze, FL, October 2 for a long weekend of relax-ation. Five Gradys transported most while several arrived by ferry to this secluded, peaceful spot with a beauti-ful white beach, lovely sunsets and wonderful weather. Some fished the pass, some gathered shells, and others chose to just relax by one of the pools or read. All enjoyed potluck dinners, a lunch by boat to Cabbage Key, and a dinner at the resort’s Rum Bay Restaurant. One of the best parts of the resort is there are no cars so trans-portation on the island is by golf carts only. Naturally there were a few races! Double HeaderDear Anchorline:We caught a pair of dolphin off Juno Beach, FL, last summer in our 2006 Marlin 300 purchased from Mariner Marine, Riviera Beach. The female hit a trolled line and while Norman brought it in, Julie reeled in the other lines and left one rod with a ballyhoo dangling from a rod holder. A bull dolphin fol-lowing the female saw the lure and hit it while Norman was gaffing the first fish. Norman got the first one into the fish box, grabbed the dangled rod and luckily the male was still on!

Love My GradyDear Anchorline:I wanted to personally thank you for the time you spent with me on my factory tour. I really enjoyed seeing what a wonderful facility you have. I can see how you build such nice boats out of a spectacular factory. I love my Sailfish 282 and it has caught many pacific coast fish out of San Diego–dorado (mahi mahi), yellowtail, yellowfin tuna, albacore, halibut and even a nice thresher shark. Here’s a picture of my wife, Tracy, and our baby, Ella Grace, and me.

Port Hardy, BCDear Anchorline:In August, our family went on a weeklong trip in our Sailfish 282, Great White, to Port Hardy, BC, at the northern end of Vancouver Island. Port Hardy is about an eight-hour run from our homeport of Sechelt, BC. Our 282 performed great, especially in the 35-knot winds that we experienced on the trip home. We caught a number of large Chinook salmon, including a 48-pound monster that is the largest one that I have caught in 40 years of fishing. Thanks Grady-White, for a memory of a lifetime. ELIZABETH, DAUGHTER OF GEORGE AND JULIANA MOUSTAKAS, has loooooved riding on the family’s Canyon 336 since she was two months old. Here she is at four months, with her dad, at Andros Island in the heart of the Aegean Sea. The family fishes some, cruises mostly, and does a lot of scuba diving. Enjoy!
